I was planning on typing a rant about how moronic the majority of so-called KyoAni fans are when they basically called “betrayal” when KyoAni unveiled a commercial featuring only pretty boys instead of their “beloved” moe girls KyoAni is infamous for. Instead, I will simply talk about the first trailer for the new upcoming KyoAni show entitled, Free!.
So, from the looks of it, this show will be a “Boys Club”/Sports anime centered around swimming. Cool. I am no stranger to Boys Club shows. I have seen a couple (See Daily Lives of High School Boys and Kimi to Boku) and thoroughly enjoyed them. If “Free!” will be as good or better than the two shows I just mentioned, then BRING IT ON!
Oh, and because I feel this has become a meme for this blog whenever a “Boys Club” anime is brought up, here is one of my fav songs of all time, once again.
The Yuri Empire 
This anime is pretty hyped already even though it will only be released in July.
What we saw in the trailer looks good so far, definitely a show I’ll be looking forward to.

All you have to know is that the first commercial trailer for this show made a really big buzz. To be honest, it just looks like a sports/slice of life show about swimming to me. It is nothing worth burning houses down or stopping the presses over. In any case, I am interested in watching the show, just to shove it up the pathetic naysayers’….you know where.

I was kinda half-expecting this when they started the countdown, but I was still a bit surprised when it happened, this is KyoAni we’re talking about after all. They do well with their all-girl anime, so it’ll be fun to see how they fare with an all-male cast.
