Non Non Biyori Nonstop Episode 11: Candy Heart

While the preview hinted this would be a Baby Renge episode, which it was, someone else would be the main focus.

11A: While not as profound as their previous conversation Renge and Shiori still delved into an interesting subject. As we recall Shiori mentioned she’d become a big sister soon. Bringing this up again made Renge even more determined than she already was to become a great role model for Shiori.

There were actually only two segments this episode but this was because 11B was a long one. Kazuho invited Candy Store to have a pre-graduation drinking party. Best Boy of all anime would be graduating soon. Candy Store planned to only have a few drinks but as we can see she went overboard. Candy Store could barely keep her composure but as soon as Renge entered the room she mustered the energy to save face. One Renge left Hikage commented how CS cared deeply for Renge.

As is often the case with drunk characters in fiction CS opened up. She recalled a time when Hikage mentioned her caring for Renge a lot before. We got a hilarious scene of CS competing with Konomi for Baby Renge’s attention to prove CS was the superior role model. It appeared CS was outmatched by Konomi’s shrewdness and her intimidating face.

In the end it was clear CS was the who who knew how to take care of Renge.

Back in the present CS broke down somewhat as she realized how much the kids were growing since then, even Natsumi. It touched her so much she was about to break down for real when Renge came back and her super energy popped up in the nick of time. Once CS was put to bed Kazuho had her own drunk confession moment as she’s so happy to see her kouhai go from a lone wolf to big sister figure.

I’m sure once the manga ends CS and Renge’s relationship will remain that of “mother and daughter” but my naughty heart will continue to visualize CS waiting for Renge to come of age.
