Yes. Your fearless leader has come home at last and BOY do I have a lot to catch up on. First of all some announcements of future releases and other stuff.
First of all the news that made me happiest, Yuki Yuna Is A Hero will be getting a 2nd season in 2017. The first half will be an animated adaptation of Togo’s prequel novel, Washio Sumi wa Yuusha de Aru, which is something I’m sure many fans have wanted to see for some time. Myself included. I won’t have to read the novel now. I also heard that the 2nd half of the season will kick off with an animated adaption of the short post-epilogue cliffhanger text document titled Sonoko After. Look it up if you haven’t read it yet. It’s a short and interesting setup for what’s to come.
The second recent big announcement was that Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, that yuri manga with lesbian dragon maids (Dunno how many of them are actually gay since I don’t plan on reading it anymore after the anime’s announcement), is set for a Winter 2017 premiere, meaning this coming January. One little tidbit that caused a stir was which studio will produce the anime…KyoAni. Depending on how readers feel about the studio’s handling of lesbianism in their shows that featured them in some way this is either a good or bad thing. On the one hand this means the show will more than likely be well animated. Maybe something like Nichijou or better. On the other hand…it’s KyoAni. Personally all I ask for is to keep the lesbians openly gay and not do the KyoAni thing by having viewers “connect the dots”. Some people prefer that but as far as I’m concered, IF THE CHARACTER/S IS/ARE ALREADY 100% GAY, DON’T MAKE THEIR FEELINGS OR LUST SUBTLE!
Next are video game announcements, starting with A Kiss for the Petals
First of all we have a release date for The New Generation, November 25th. The interested can pre-order the game at Mangagamer right now with a 10% discount. Unfortunately this release won’t be getting a Steam version for obvious reasons. I could be wrong but I highly doubt it’ll happen.
More SonoHana news in what appears to be a compilation album of SonoHana remixes titled St Michael’s Music Academy to celebrate the franchise’s 10th anniversary. Good stuff. Learn more about the album and other goodies that will accompany it by clicking HERE. Credit goes to Marking and his associates for creating the album.
Even more SonoHana news thanks to a “State of St Michael’s” like report. The first news is the JP release of the “expansion pack” as it were, “A Kiss For the Petals: From The Day We First Met”. As I mentioned when it was first announced this is essentially Remembering How We Met “PLUS”. The PLUS referring to extra scenes, both events and vintage SonoHana love scenes. Basically this is what the title would have been like from the beginning before the brilliant idea of introducing the franchise to a more mainstream Western audience via an all-ages release was cooked up.
The second big announcement was the next installment in the “Revolution” series that followed The New Generation, essentially these are stand-alone sequels starring one of the three couples from New-Gen. The first Revolution title starred Nagisa X Rina. The second one will feature the twins Aya X Ai. Since they’re my #1 most hyped couple of New-Gen I eagerly anticipate this and the other Revolution title’s localization in the near future.
The third big announcement is that there are plans to release all the original 10 games on Android and Mobile phones. I just want the “SonoHana Origins Collection” to get localized on PC.
Other yuri titles that became available for purchase on Steam during mid-late October include:
Sakura Space and Sweet Volley High‘s Steam versions also came out during October.
Ladykiller in a Bind is also available for purchase HERE. I have read that something bothersome happens to the leading lady during the story that left some with a bad taste in their mouths. I shall investigate when able but I also heard the game’s yuri is pretty good.
I was planning on promoting Cosmillica’s LGNS (Love, Guitars and the Nashville Skyline) Steam Greenlight but it already got greenlit so there’s another yuri VN/KN to look forward to this November.
Nights of Azure 2 is coming to the West in 2017.
Four Goddesses Online: Cyberdimension Neptune was the latest game announced in the Neptunia franchise and will be for the Playstation 4. Perhaps a future Steam release after it gets localized in the future. From the looks of it it will be similar to the Sword Art Online games on PS platforms and MIGHT hint at online gameplay. Either way I’m always up for more Nep-Nep goodness.
I think that’s it for now. If I missed any other yurirific announcements let me know in the comments below. Now to go catch up on anime and then play some games. Wish me luck and I’ll see you all next post.
Welcome back! 🙂 Hope you had a great vacation!

Welcome back! I have some good news and bad news.
Good news is that Sakura Maid 1-3 came out. They’re free, too.
Bad news? Catch Canvas is definitely not yuri. Yes, you can choose to be a girl at the beginning of the game. However, it doesn’t actually mean anything because there are multiple references to the nature of your genitalia as well as the girls referring to you as the only man in the house. It’s a major disappointment considering the art was done by Razz.

Noticed that Sakura Maid has some yuri. I’m guessing from your recommendation the maid serves a mistress.
I’ll see for myself.

You can skip Sakura Maid 1. Not only is it no longer available in the Denpasoft store, but her mistress is away for the entirety of the game so the visual novel just has the maid get in naughty poses while imagining her mistress was there.

I’ll play it anyway for completion’s sake.

WOOOOOOOW! So many awesome news!!!! Really HYPED for the Aya x Ai VN (REAAAAAAALLYYYYYYYY!)
Yuki Yuna Season 2…what could be best than have a second season of your best anime ever!?
SonoHana New-Gen is coming! Finally I’ll be able to see it translated!
And for Maid Dragon, I’ve also heard about the manga, so i have some curiosity to watch the anime adaptation 🙂
Really sad to not be able to play Nights of Azure…maybe someday
Hope that you had good vacations, happy to have you back! ^^

Wonder how I missed the boat on Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, especially since it’s a KyoAni show. Not usually into monster girl shows, but this sounds like it could be good. I’ll give it a shot. Plus it’s KyoAni so I’m interested to see how that goes.

Welcome back!
I do look forward to winter shows, not sure what I plan on watching yet. I do plan on playing Night of Azure 2 (Japanese version) on the PS4 when it comes out at the end of the year. I guess this means that you finally have a PS4/PS TV from what I heard. But yes, I have a backlog of games I need to finish before I think about getting more.

Oh~! Welcome back 😀
That Yuki Yuna news is great news! I can’t wait 😀
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid will surely be a show that’s full of fun 😛 Since it’s KyoAni then it’ll most likely be well made but , like you said, since it’s KyoAni gayness will probably be lessened and I’m very curious on how they’ll do that ’cause they’re all very gay 😛 Hmmm…maybe they’re leveling up their yuriness? LOL 😛

Welcome back! I think you will be pleased with some particular things in your catch up…
And you return bearing gifts!
2nd season of Yuki has me excited, and I’ve missed Togo. And this Dragon Maid business is right up my alley… Though Kyoani leaves an unpleasant taste in my mouth.
Once again though, welcome back!
No rushing, as you should take your time to savor what you’ve missed.

Welcome back! Indeed you have much to catch up on, but I’m sure you were as pleased as I was regarding that Yuuki Yuuna s2/Washio Sumi announcement. Though I don’t know where you heard that s2 would start off with an adaptation of Sonoko After (I mean, it probably will regardless since that’s the smart way to go about things, but I don’t remember reading that personally). Either way that’s definitely one of the things I’m most hyped for next year, other than Heaven’s Feel, the 3rei film and Kizu part 3.
And I too have fallen behind on this season, though I have managed to keep up with Brave Witches and Flip Flappers, both of which are absolutely surpassing any of my initial expectations for them (and I’m sure will do the same for you as well).
But anyway, I digress. It’s great to have you back and I look forward to seeing more coverage on yuri and magical girls from you as always. 🙂
