We ended last episode with one of the new girls near our heroines’ home base. We’d be formally introduced to them this episode.
Having met someone who understood her (and could potentially become her future space wife) Umika excitedly looked up information on how to build a rocket. Unfortunately it’s both harder than she thought and the easier ones to build were children’s arts and crafts projects. Remember this for later.
You know, maybe for funsies we should count how many forehead/mental kisses Umika and Yu have throughout the show. This one is #4, unless you count the one after the Episode 1 ED which technically makes this #5. Anyway Umika took her promise with Yu to find a way to go to outer space together seriously.
Also thanks to one Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell fame it’s revealed the “alien language” book both girls read was actually an Esperanto dictionary. Peeps who played The Expression Amrilato and Distant Memorajo will be very familiar with this language.
Umika saw how easily Yu befriended their classmates despite being an alien. She tried motivating herself to try opening up more but it’s too hard.
At last it’s time to meet Haruno Takaragi, the class vice-president. Umika felt bad she had yet to formally greet her or thank her for being so nice and helpful despite Umika’s timidity. However, she’s shocked when Haruno asked about Yu and her at the lighthouse. Umika remembered the “no entry” signs and started panicking over the vice-prez calling the Men in Black to take Yu away to dissect her. My poor gut. Yu being less wary than her meant it wouldn’t be long before the truth about their hideout was revealed so Umika did her best to “take one for the team” as it were.
Obviously our precious heroine had nothing to worry about as Haruno only wanted to know if the two were fans of lighthouses. When they told her the truth they’re treated to some of Haruno’s what I could best describe as “passions”. Words do not do these “passions” justice. The point was Haruno shared their ambitions and wanted to join the Space Gays. I’m not 100% sure about Haruno yet but we have one more member joining in the near future. Plus this is a Girls’ Club show so my hunch wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. To add to the joy Haruno wanted a kiss too. We didn’t see it because as I said I believe she has her own soul mate.
I could relate to Umika so much here from my high school days.
With a new member Umika worked decided the best first step is to take things slow and work from there. In this case she thought the gang firing a bottle rocket would be a fun start. She tried to approach Yu but either other girls came to her first or Yu wasn’t around when Umika found an opening. The two bound together by the threads of fate it didn’t take long for the two to find each other.
Not much to add for a while. It was a fun crash course on building bottle rockets. The important moment came when it’s time to fire the rocket. Yu thought it’d soon be time to fly to space but when she’s corrected she kind of felt relieved as if she wasn’t ready to leave. Makes sense as she still had no clue where she came from. Plus she wanted to hang out on Earth a while longer.
We’ll count the aforementioned Post-ED kiss so this one is #6.
As Yu went to prepare the rocket Haruno asked Umika what she planned to do upon making first contact with life in outer space. Umika thought about her goal of meeting space aliens because she felt they’d understand her better than Earthlings but then she’s surprised by Haruno’s goal. She wanted to show them how great the Earth and humanity are just like Yu. Just be sure not to introduce them to the Internet and you’re good. Trust me.
We ended the episode with a successful liftoff. Great stuff yet again. Umika is still omega kawaii and must be protected at all costs. You better take care of her Yu. Haruno’s a wonderful addition to the gang as I eagerly await the 4th member.
The MIB thing was really funny, and those are totally agents J and K lol
Huh so the language they were speaking is a real thing huh? Nice bit of trivia there.
in this episode, Yu destroys her alien kidneys by chugging that big-ass bottle of soda!
The girls bonding over the arts and craft rocket was really sweet.

Loved it. So good!
Yup. We learned something cool.
Important life lesson. Never drink a large soda bottle by yourself in one chug.
I need more of that injected in my verins.

MIB reference in my Manga Time Kirara adaptation, but that is funny though.
But aside from that, a lot of cute moments. Find it funny how Yuu tries to chug down a whole litter of soda, but yes, don’t try this at home.
Those bottle rockets launches while look amazing, can be dangerous… But yes, Umika is cute.

Fun reference it was.
Everything about this show heals my soul. Hope it keeps up the fluffy wuffy.

So there was an offscreen decopathy (possibly), which was probably purposeful to continue the mystery of “is she actually an alien?”
It’s nice that they’re starting off at realistic goals, and just getting to understand foundational things.
This show is very adorable~

That and genki x tsundere are classic yuri pairings that rarely fail to deliver happiness.

Was just going to ask if anyone is keeping track of the forehead kisses, because there have been a lot so far!
Haruno is a welcome addition to the cast. Really like her a lot already!
Bottle rockets are cool, wish I made more of them as a kid.

Since a fan is keeping up with Claire’s ojou-sama-isms I figured why not count our heroines’ sweet forehead kisses.
Haruno is wonderful indeed.
