Koisuru Asteroid Episode 8: Holiday Dilemma

When we last left our heroines something was bothering Ao and Ino considered entering a competition. Let’s see how things went for both.

Mira misunderstanding the event

Bless you Mira.

First up was Ino wanting to enter the Earth Science Olympiad. Here we see Mira misunderstanding what kind of competition it was.

Ino and Saeki

Ino and Saeki.

Ino was so focused on the Olympiad she was able to resist a strong urge to go exploring before the entry exam. She felt nervous because she didn’t know anyone in the test room. Suddenly a cool girl sat next to her. The girl named Saeki helped put Ino at ease.

Ino and Saeki photo

Nope. Ino didn’t take this photo. The other photo was definitely taken by her.

Sadly Ino could tell long before the test results came she failed. She didn’t mind thanks to the learning she had with Saeki and reflecting on the experiences she had with everyone so far in the Eartn Sciences Club. It would serve to help make her a better club president.

Speaking of the Olympiad pay close attention and you’ll notice a certain person many of us eagerly want to see more from.

Christmas Newspaper Club

Christmas Newspaper Club.

Moving on to the next segment Christmas was drawing closer as Mari and Ino planned a special hotpot get together with the rest of the club. We got a an adorably sexy combo treat courtesy of the Newspaper Club.

Ao barely containing her laughter

I fell you Ao. Mira’s so cute and funny.

Meanwhile Ao was still feeling down. Luckily Mira helped cheer her up a bit.

Skipping the Christmas party. It was full of fun stuff but we must focus on the important part.

Ao crying

Oh dear.

The club went to the roof for some #Stargayzing. The senpai surprised their dear kouhai with a photo album. It was very lovely. However, Ao saw a picture of Mira and couldn’t hold back her tears. Ao brushed it off as her crying tears of joy but Ino had a feeling there was more going on.

Ino notices Ao's sadness

Ino’s very sharp.

On to the last segment. The club got together to visit the shrine for New Year’s prayers. Mira shouted her prayer of finding the promised meteor with Ao. Ino again noticed something wrong with Ao. The time had come to spill the beans. As expected Ao’s family (her dad to be exact) were moving. Ino called for an emergency New Year’s meeting. Mira felt horrible she didn’t notice her beloved’s worries. Luckily Ino and the others snapped her out of her funk. They all wanted to see the two find their engagement meteor together.

My dear sister already knew what the solution should be.

Suzu's brilliant plan

Suzu’s brilliant plan.

You’re a genius Suzu. Mira’s reaction was equally brilliant. The girls brainstormed as best as they could. Ao wondered why they were working so hard for her sake. The answer was obvious. Fortunately it was about time for their savior to appear.

Misa hard at work

The Savior.

Savior: Have you tried throwing a tantrum?

Ao: I couldn’t do that.

Savior: Okay…So I’m moving to the college dorms post-graduation leaving my room empty. I think you can put two and two together.

Suzu: Please elaborate.

Savior: Move in with Mira.

Mic drop. Sis was like “That’s what I’ve been saying”. Great stuff as usual.

Living together, what are they going to do with the remaining 4 episodes? With luck multiple scenes of their domestic yuri life together. Suzu is gonna miss Misa, but it’s worth it. We had enough “asteroids” time for the “love” part of the title.

I still am having a hard time believing they’d take this route, and that it’ll get dodged somehow next ep, but Ao will still get to stay. But I want to hope!

Either way, I DID NOT expect that “solution”. Was quite the surprise. I can’t think of any moment in this entire season that was as much of a show stopper as that.

I expected to see more of you in Asteroid episode after Eve’s debut but I figured you’re passed out and had nothing to add. Her existence alone knocked you out.

Anyhoo fingers crossed the dream becomes reality.

Oh gully, when Sakura mentions her little sister, I was expecting her to either show a picture of Chikage or having her burst into the club room at the “call” of her Onee-chan but nothing happened, and I’m sed

    Hmmmmmmm, Sakura couldn’t stop messaging Ino through the night, I wonder what they were talking about??? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Now now Suzu, you should only give Mira the idea of eloping, not snatching away her wife like that.

Also, when Misa-nee suggests the idea of Ao moving in her room, I couldn’t help but imagine her subtly give hints to Suzu about moving in with her (a man can dream, don’t sneer at me)

And judging by the title of the next episode, I think we’ll get a confession

The moment when Ao saw Mira’s picture in the album and started crying was so beautiful. I want to see them living together and learning to be a couple… Sneaking into each other’s rooms in the night to cuddle, watch the stars and kiss…

Sakura starting to miss Ino as soon as she’s gone for a day, and texting her all night, was beautiful too.

Suzu of course shines like a supernova whenever she shows up.

The only thing missing to make this perfect is for the mysterious little sister treat to join in ^^

Snuggles first, kisses later. You know how these shows work.

      Indeed.

She’s been our avatar since episode 1 and will continue making us proud till the end of the show.

      Patience.

This was a mostly boring episode apart from the Yuzu part.
I’ve got to give it to this show though. I DID NOT expect that ending. Looking forward to see how it continues.

Another great ep this week. I love these girls so much!

Like I mentioned in my live tweets, everyone is low key really good at drawing. Look at those whiteboard pics! Amazing!

Not a lot of Suzu action this week, but whenever she’s in a scene she’s absolutely fantastic!

Had a feeling the Ao drama would be about her moving away as it’s a common theme used, but I was not expecting Misa to suggest Ao move in and actually live with Mira. What a shocking turn of events! Now Mira and Ao have the chance to deepen their relationship even more and I guess this is some practice for when they’re all grown up, married and living together for real.

Lastly, the Christmas party chaos was fun. The breaker always tripping and the extra spicy food made for some added fun.

All around great ep. Looking forward to next week!

I mean, they’ve only got a couple years to be “all grown up”. Though I guess it depends on what a person deems “grown up”. They are almost second year highschoolers.

Oh yes. Very nice drawings by Mari and Ino.

Suzu’s streak as our wonderful avatar has yet to be broken and I’m certain it never will be. She’s that awesome.

Yup. It’s practically become a tradition in Girls Club shows or similar anime.
Very excited to see how their relationship progresses from now on.

Hence why I didn’t go over it in detail. It was a fun Christmas party.

  8. “Have you tried asking your parents about it? How about you move in with Mira?”
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the hardest to spot! Many thanks to mira’s sister for pointing that out.

  9. LuzeP says:

Well, it is the obvious solution right? I’ll be surprise if no one suggested it. So, thank you Misa-nee. I knew we can count on you. Suzu solution was good as well but let’s do this moving in first. Although I hope Misa-nee won’t leave the house right away. In fact Misa-nee doesn’t have to leave at all. Ao can sleep with Mira. I’m so excited for next week episode.

As they say, at least Ino tried. She has another chance at it next year and hopefully she will make it.

The Christmas party is nice, but it’s quite subtle that something is going on with Ao. Still, I find it hilarious how Moe want to take Ao and marry her without realizing Mira’s promise. Thankfully, things worked out in the end to the likes of Iroha moving in with Yachiyo. The next episode should be interesting.

Ino may not have advanced in the Olympiad but it was valuable experience for her. As a bonus, she met Saeki and she showed her that cool area she passed by earlier. They must’ve exchanged numbers.

That was a sweet Christmas party. Ao’s worries were there but she tried putting her best face on. When she finally said what was going on, I didn’t think there was anyway to resolve this…until Savior Misa came in with a simple yet surprising answer. I was thinking that she was still gonna be home when she starts college but that’s not the case at all. Suzu’s idea was extreme but expected.
