G-Rating: 8/10 for season 1, 7/10 for season 2.

Plot Summary: In the Kingdom of Wellber, Princess Rita is to be married to Prince Gernia of nearby Sangatras — a political marriage to prevent another war between the two countries. When the marriage plans go drastically awry, and Princess Rita is forced to flee the country on a mission to far-off Greedom, hoping to prevent the coming war, she finds a companion and friend in the cat burglar Tina, who has her own reasons for traveling to Greedom.

Main Characters:

Tina Lothar
Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi
A professional cat burglar, Tina gets involved with the kingdom’s princess Rita when she breaks into the royal palace to steal a golden statue. Tina is very skilled with her pistols, but prefers not to kill people. She was hired by Weiss as Rita’s bodyguard, and the two of them have set out for the kingdom of Greedom, where Tina hopes to find the murderer of her parents.

Rita Sior
Voiced by: Mikako Takahashi
A princess in the Kingdom of Wellber. She stabs the Sangatras kingdom’s prince, her betrothed who was attempting to rape her, and flees the palace together with Tina. To prevent a war with Sangatras, Rita’s only hope is to travel to the neutral Kingdom of Greedom on a secret diplomatic mission. Surprisingly, for a sheltered princess, Rita is quite proficient in hand-to-hand combat.

Cyrano de Bergerac
Voiced by: Yuuichi Nagashima
A highly mobile and unusually well-armed tankette with an advanced A.I. Serving as a transportation vehicle in lieu of a horse for Rita, Cyrano refuses to let commoners such as Tina mount him. He also serves as an advisor for Rita. He is a little over-protective to Rita as well as a bit expresive, but he’s devoutly loyal to her. Cyrano is equipped with two shield-like amovible panels, a small sub-cannon and a powerful main cannon, which renders him asleep after its use.

Sherry
Voiced by: Eri Sendai
A sprite that is friends with Tina. She has the habit of finishing every sentence with the word “beru”.

Galahad Eiger
Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa
A military officer of Sangatras and a friend of Prince Gernia since childhood, he made it his personal mission to avenge Gernia by killing Rita. His sword has a pistol hidden within, which he would use for ranged combat as well as to wound unsuspecting opponents. After learning the truth about what happened between the Rita and Gernia, Galahad decides to change his plans.

It’s a pretty interesting show in my opinion. Each episode in the 1st season has its own purpose to both develop the characters and uncover the truth behind the conspiracy that led to a declaration of war. Also, it’s just awesome to see a princess engage in combat, teaming up with a thief and a talking tank. The main antagonist of the 1st season, let’s just say when you discover the truth, your mind will be boggled due to the villains insanity.  There are awesome moments, sad moments and a decent climax.
I say, give this one a look. For some reason, this show is addictive and its story will keep you wanting more and more.

The reason why I gave the 2nd season a lower rating is because even though it manages to answer the questions left behind during the 1st season, there are some things about it that upset me. It’s still pretty good, but obviously inferior to the prequel.

If you’re able to find both seasons, give them a go. Keep in mind that the 2nd season may be tougher to find than the 1st one.
