I’m in Love With the Villainess Episode 9: Battles of Body and Heart

After an eventful few episodes it was time to wrap up this arc.

Rae evades Chimera

Facing the Chimera head on was out of the question. Fortunately Rae had a plan and asked her beloved to trust her. The buildup to the finisher was pretty cool.

Claire's Tri AttackAs was Claire’s Tri Attack Beam. Since the Chimera had three elements Rae shared her energy with Claire to unleash a triple whammy of awesomeness.

Rae and Claire, dream teamLene watched on worried for Claire’s safety but when it became clear she wasn’t alone she breathed a sigh of relief before the siblings were taken into custody.

Claire worried about FrostyTheir celebration was cut short however by the masked mastermind who tried to stab Claire. Suddenly Frosty Balls, who tried to channel his inner Randy Orton tried to pull an RKO out of nowhere but alas he wasn’t quick enough and got poisoned by the knife wound. Meanie Mask’s plan was to wreak havoc by killing as many nobles as possible but one of the three princes’ dead corpses was far better. Fortunately Rae remembered this event from the game and knew how to neutralize the poison. The medics took care of the rest. As a bonus they identified Meanie Mask’s potential origin thanks to the poison. Another hope for a new season, besides more Yuri greatness, is to meet the Queen or Empress of the enemy empire. Looks like quite the vixen from behind.

Claire caring for RalaireI hope we get a joke about “Mommy being Ralaire’s favorite and someone asks which one?”

Dashing Rae and Marvelous ClaireI apologize to my cultured lady readers for not warning them of the awesome power of Dashing Rae last episode. I hope you’re recovering from the surprise yum-yum. I was well fed by purple dress Claire myself.

Back to the plot. Our heroines’ worst fears came true. Despite being manipulated the siblings were still accomplices of a terrorist attack. Some even blamed them for instigating it. On the bright side the king asked for an audience with the dynamic duo who saved the school to reward them. Claire was about to object when Rae whispered another clever idea.

Frosty uses his position to convince the kingThe idea was for Claire to use her authority in hopes of convincing the king to spare the siblings and their family as the reward. However, it was her word against the chancellor/advisor/whatever his position was. Didn’t matter. I think she felt a bit frustrated that her position wasn’t strong enough to make a difference. Fortunately Frosty Prince, who I think had a maturity haircut before the invasion (Currently not important), pleaded in favor of the family in order to set a fair example among the people. Again I’m not to here to discuss politics. Point was he asked the king which of the two options do you think viewers will prefer:

A: Magical Revolution.

B: Vampire Princess.

He went with Option A because it’s more popular. I agree because the context behind Option B are drastically different. I think some out there get what I’m saying.

Rae and Claire victory danceHurray for victory dance!

Lene's farewellI think part of Claire was relieved her authority was strong enough to convince the guard to allow Lene have some time to say goodbye before being exiled. The family were spared but due to the siblings being accomplices and the “other reason” they’re disowned. Lene was sad to part ways with her mistress but was relieved Claire had someone as or possibly even more dependable than she was by her side. It took some motivation from Rae but Claire was able to share her message with Lene. “You will always be my maid. This is not goodbye. We WILL meet again someday”.

Rae comforts ClaireRae offered a hug and waited for Claire to turn around, knowing she would refuse, to jump from behind. Better to let it all out while no one is looking. As she did so Rae said the world wasn’t fair for denying certain people the right to love who they chose to. We know what she meant but for the sake of balance let’s focus on her talking about their own relationship.

Nice conclusion to this arc. Next time a very interesting episode with potentially huge implications.

As always mum’s the word for source readers, even “ZOMG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS” comments.

Happy ClaireThis time I got a double #ClaireIsLove for you all. First was Claire not so subtly admitting Dashing Rae would have been hotter if she acted the part. Second is the victory dance with a double meaning. First was Claire enjoying their LycoReco tribute. Second was me thinking Claire’s like “You think you have the cute smiley face Commoner. Let me show you what TRUE cuteness is” before she smiled a huge smile.

if this had gotten past where I’ve read, then I wouldn’t watch the EP PVs, because i really feel like they give away too much. Since the chances of it getting past where I read are extremely slim esp considering how few episodes are left, I’ll continue to watch them.

Some great teamwork between the two! Things are finally really starting to progress~ Reading what Rae wore, and seeing it are very different things. It’s easy to see how Claire might fall for her charms 😉 And Claire rocked that dress just as much! The both of them really are fortunate to have each other~

The next episode will be a treat, especially since I learned that this character is being voiced by Nana Mizuki! (Who you might know better as Fate Testarossa or Tsubasa Kazanari)

  4. Really great conclusion to this arc. I think things ended up as fairly as they could and I think a lot of good progress was made between Rae and Claire. Them working together so well was great to see. I’m sure that was only the first of many moments. I’m glad they got recognition for it too.

I had seen minor stills of Rae’s outfit, but seeing it in all it’s glory this episode was amazing! She had me swooning, so I can understand Claire’s feelings there, subtle as they were. Their dance was also very cute. Slowly but surely Claire is getting there in realizing her feelings and it’s great to see. It’s also great to see Claire embracing her future daughter.

I’m excited to see what the next arc has in store for us. Seems interesting based on the PV, but I agree that a S2 is much needed, as I can tell there’s so much more to see and we’ve barely scratched the surface. Good stuff.

Great teamwork and Claire becoming more comfortable around Rae. Love to see it. Almost there.

Dashing Rae’s power was most impressive. Can’t blame Claire for being turned on, if subtly.

A very interesting episode next time from the looks of it.

Oh yes. Clearly another season is needed.

What an opening action! It’s almost like Claire and Rae were destined to work as partners. Claire has the raw power of attack magic, while Rae’s support magic is second to none.

Prince Thane (I recalled his name, because he actually did something useful, rather than brooding in a corner) saved Claire from s grisly fate. But Rae saved him from a poison blade as well. (Rae should “invent” a life insurance company here. She’d make a fortune!)

I loved their little celebration, with Claire, starting to fall into Rae’s rhythm.

I noticed some people being angry that Rae and Claire begged for the Arrouseau family’s lives. Just remember, that Lene was their friend and they loved her. Just because Claire and Rae forgave her doesn’t mean that you have to. Just accept that it was their decision.

I just LOVE how Claire was beginning to rely on Rae and even trust her, by following her lead. THem, dancing in their court finery set my heart ablaze! IT’S HAPPENING!!!!

The Dream Team showed why they’re meant to be.

He earned a week off of being teased.

      It’s brief but so wonderful.

Precisely. It’s THEIR decision, not jake5674321’s.

Almost there. Hopefully “IT” happens on screen.

Not much to say about the battle, but it’s nice to see them working together. Yes, it shows how much Claire has defrosted, even during the meeting with the king to give Lene and her brother a lighter punishment. But still, I can see why Claire is sad to see Lene leave, but at least she has Rae and of course it shows how much Rae manages to defrost her so that Claire trusts her. Seeing Rae hug her while Claire cries is something.

I guess it’s time to see jealous Rae, like with Vill next time.

Rae’s charms on Claire are getting stronger and she doesn’t notice. Love to see it.

      Hope Lene will be well.

Interested to see if Rae can match Vill or the blue maid is the superior jelly gay.

Gotta admit I cried at the end of this ep. Something about goodbyes in anime just get me every time. Other movies and such can have sad moments and I don’t react so much, but seeing a sad moment in anime gets the waterworks going.

The moment with Rae and Claire dancing was lovely to see as well.
