With both our heroines getting that important big win in their careers it’s time to find out what’s next for them.
Oh yes ladies and gentlemen. We started with a bang. Sounds of Earth had returned BABEH! There was much rejoicing! Oh, and Kita won a big race. That’s great too.
Another cause for celebration was Cheval Grand finally got a story arc…and it’s another one about proving one’s self to their family. Here CG was the only one of the Sacred Hat Trinity featuring her sisters Vexina and Vivlos who had yet to win gold. Despite coming in 3rd (Kita was 1st and SoE 2nd) the shame was ever growing.
The main reason Birdie Wing became my new favorite sports anime of all time. #Injustice.
We already had McQueen bestow words of wisdom to her protege so now it’s John Cena’s turn. Cena’s worried Kita’s nervous despite being on a roll but she assured her that her focus was to fulfill a promise with Diamond. During Teio’s epic S2 finale race Kita and Diamond promised to one day have a race that would forever be etched in the annals of history. For the longest time they always shared moments and stuff together but a championship win was the one thing they couldn’t share. Kita was admittedly worried she’d always be one step behind Diamond. She hoped that all her training would be enough to prove to herself she’d become as strong as her gifted soulmate.
I suppose because Satono Crown’s story is connected to Diamond’s we didn’t get to see her finally win a race abroad. She thanked Diamond for the win that reinvigorated the Satono family but our co-star had something bigger on her mind. This was about Satono Diamond channeling her inner Stone Cold Steve Austin during Wrestlemania 17, meaning that a lot depended on beating her strongest raivaru to date, Kita. To Kita this race meant proving how far she’d come but to Diamond it felt like her career was on the line. She HAD to beat Kita to find inner peace. Classic competitive obsession sports romance as shown in Birdie Wing.
I was rooting for her to win. She’s my Twin Turbo of the season. Funny because they’re on the same team. Another funny moment came while Kita’s training and she greeted “Master Nature”. Poor Nice Nature couldn’t handle it because Kita had become more powerful than she could imagine.
Back to our heroines. Again they showed their love by how focused they were on beating each other in the race.
Kita: Let’s have a race that will knock the people’s socks off.
Diamond: I must beat you, Kitasan Black.
Kita (Whoa. Okay then. Laser focused it is).
I wanted to say “I must break you” but they’re not at that phase of their sports romance…yet.
The race was so intense it looked like only the two of them tapped into the Speed Force. Also it looks like they both mastered it off-screen.
In the end there could only be one. Fortunately Diamond didn’t have to turn heel and beat the crap out of Kita to get the win…not yet anyway. Maybe Kita will turn to the dark side to finally stop feeling she’s behind Diamond all the time? I know, wrong tone for the show, but you never know.
Great stuff as always.
Glad to see SoE in good spirts despite putting on the exact performance she said she would. Hopefully next time she promises a grand finale like no other. Also love Twin Turbo is always cheering her on. Sounds of Turbo, perhaps? I hope so. Lastly poor hat mare.
Another great episode!
Sounds of Turbo eh? Would love to see it.
Excited for more!

Sorry Cheval, but as much as you wanted to win in front of your sisters for once, this Arima Kinen was not that race. It was all about Kita/Dia.
Isn’t it great how everyone sees you as the one who made Kitasan Black the champ she is today, Nice-sensei? You must be in possession of some top-tier wisdom 😉 .
Seeing Kita and Dia’s thoughts about each other in the lead-up to this year’s AK was very lovely, without a doubt. The stage was set for those two to fulfill the promise they made to each other, so the anticipation and desire to beat each other was at its peak. However, I can’t help but think things might be a tad different between them after this race. I hope their (now official) rivalry will be a good-spirited one. Maybe more pep talks from Teio might be required…
Sounds of Earth is such a good sport, even finishing eighth wasn’t gonna dampen her spirit. In any case, Turbo’s got her back, win or lose.

Exactly. No Turbo miracle for you…yet.
Master Nature is awesome.
Fingers crossed we don’t get any heel turns.
SoE and Turbo are happiness.

I’m happy to see either one of them as the winner of this big race. Both trained so hard for it whichever one wins certainly deserves it.
