I’m in Love with the Villainess Episode 7: Woos and Wraps Fair

Time for the traditional school festival episode with an isekai twist.

Lene relishing this moment

The Brothers Prince knew most of their classmates were nobles who were inexperienced in the art of servitude thus they asked Rae to find someone who could enlighten them. Enter Lene who relished the opportunity to boss around the upper class for a change, especially those she knew looked down on commoners.

Baby Claire respects Lene for passing the testAfter her rigorous training Claire was surprised to see that side of Lene but at the same time was aware of her uniqueness since she was a baby ojou-sama. I’m guessing her brattiness was a test to find a worthy maid to serve her. Before Lene passed the test most couldn’t handle her intentional annoyingness. Baby Claire wanted a maid who was both loyal and smart, aka not a pushover.

Rae puts her plan into motionI warned my female non-readers to prepare themselves for this episode. Truly lethal. Also Rae’s brain when Lene Bro said the gang each had their own break time or something like that.

Rae's master plan revealedAs expected of our cultured heroine her master plan was brilliant. I do so enjoy Rae taking every single opportunity to cherish Claire’s greatness.

Prince tells student he'll meet up with him laterPrince Mayo being the cute one it’s easy for him to pull off the maid look. That and this scene with the student trying to call him over was suspicious, especially with someone ominous watching them from a distance.

Next scene had Rae serving someone she wasn’t looking forward to seeing. It’s who I could only describe as a Middle-Eastern noble. She dreaded seeing him because she remembered him as an annoyance to the heroine from the game but more so because the scene with him was another “Prince Brownie Points” event.

Claire saves the day againHowever, Rae had yet to realize her undying love for Claire had changed the course of history and unlocked her super ultra secret route during the Slime Mama attack. Heck we can say it’s already unlocked as far back as Episode 2. More on this later. Back to the snobbish guy Claire revealed she spoke his language and easily persuaded him to accept her offer.

Baby Claire defends LeneThis latest showing of Claire’s greatness reminded Lene of the time Baby Claire defended her from another Middle-Eastern noble discriminating Lene for her social status. BC convinced him the king passed a law favoring commoners’ rights.

Rae offers to escort ClaireAs Rae thanked Claire for her help she’s like “I am the daughter of a politician so of course I know how to put up a front”. Rae said she loved her real self more but Claire talked herself down saying her true self was terrible. To ease the sadness Rae offered to escort her ojou-sama on a classic “Let’s check out the other attractions” montage.

Rae enjoys scared Claire againRae continues taking advantage of her easily frightened beloved to satisfying results.

Claire scoffs at a commoner rights movementClaire was exhausted so Rae went to get her some water. She also spotted and bought the necklace seen during the ED for her. On her way back the guy who tried to talk to Mayo earlier attempted to recruit her into joining a commoner rights movement seeking equality between social classes but Claire spotted her, scoffed at the movement and dragged her away.

Rae's gift to ClaireClaire: I wondered what took you so long. Did you take those ruffians’ foolishness seriously?

Rae: I don’t think their goal is foolish. Besides, whether I’m a noble or commoner all I need is to be by your side. Oh, check this out. I got you a charm. It’s to help you find true love. Hope it helps bring you and ol’ Frosty closer.

Claire; I do not understand. You tease me yet…you love me, do you not? If so, why do you continue to ship me with the prince?

Rae: Your happiness is more important to me than my own desire.

Claire: I asked this before but have yet to receive a proper response so here it is again. Why are you so obsessed with me?

Rae:…because you filled my heart. (I worked a dead end job with that expression becoming more real each passing day but you filled the emptiness inside my heart). You may not know it but you saved my life.

Claire unimpressed with RaeClaire: If you refuse to give me a direct answer then do not bother. We will be nothing more than mistress and servant.

My dear sister put it best.

Oh, and after the ED our heroines spotted a crowd at the scene of a battle between Mayo’s right hand man and the leader of the Commoner Movement. Apparently Mr Righty attacked Mr Commoner. We’ll see where that goes next time.

Great stuff as always.

Butler ClaireBaby Claire respects Lene for passing the testThis week’s #ClaireIsLove goes to Baby Claire and Dashing Butler Claire.

Any media that features cute girls in suits is a winner with me! Though that ending tells me that fluffy time might be over and hard times are coming. We shall see.

Seeing everyone crossdressing was a treat. Some pulled it off better than others. The more that I watch Claire, the more she’s giving me Latent Lesbian Vibes. Prince Gloomy Guts was all Dressed up and she didn’t even LOOK at him once. She was too busy being awesome for all the girls.

When we saw the flashbacks with Lene, we saw that Claire could be really protective of those she cared about. But once her mother died, that wall went up/ She seemed intent on separating herself from commoners. I just hate seeing Claire diminish herself like that. It was great of Rae to take her out on a fun date.

Claire’s insecurity came back, when she asked Rae why, if she loved her, she was pushing her towards Prince Gloomy Guts. I feel like she thinks Rae is toying with her, and will eventually get bored and go away. So, the wall goes back up. It’s easier to keep people at a distance, than let them in and risk getting hurt again.

Also Prince Yu is up to something.

That and Claire’s pride as a dutiful was more important but yes her not paying to Frosty Balls was a good observation.

Rae made some good moves for sure to help Claire but took some steps back. There’s still hope for her to win the beautiful lady’s heart.

Things are slowly getting serious, yes.

Towards the end of the episode, when Claire said that they are a noble and a commoner, it felt like she was saying that they can’t be a romantic couple because of that. For the first time she seemed to imply that possibility. So subtle and powerful.

I’ve nothing to add on the butler scene, it was glorious. Rae has unlocked Claire’s route. That also means Claire has some feelings toward Rae. Prince Mayo is super sus. He is planning something.
I think I say this multiple times but I don’t like that Rae kept pushing Claire to Prince Frostie while saying she loves Claire. She’s playing with Claire’s feeling. Claire will never believe that Rae is really love her. And she didn’t happy with that necklace either. The purpose of the gift has ruined. Although, Rae probably know something that we don’t. Rough path ahead.

Handsome Claire wowed many ladies’ hearts. Some were wowed by Rae and Misha too.

That’s right. Rae unlocked the route but isn’t making the right choices to earn Claire’s love. There’s still hope though.

Interested to see where that goes.

The reverse maid/butler cafe was nice. Of course, Rae wouldn’t have missed a chance to be served by Claire and Claire obliging isn’t surprising, her pride and duty to uphold the noble way wouldn’t see her doing anything subpar.

Lene had a blast teaching the Student Council the ways of servitude. I’m sure it was cathartic for her. On another note, her bond with Claire is deeper than I initially thought. She may not see commoners as equals but Claire will defend the ones she knows personally, like Lene…and Rae 😉 .

How interesting, it seems like Rae is unaware that she unlocked the ultra-super-rare Claire route, since she is saving the heroine (Rae) in the prince’s place. Since she still sees the world the same way as the game, just using her knowledge of it to stay by Claire’s side and ONLY that. She really doesn’t think it can be more than that. Due to that (un)certainty, Claire can’t open up to her yet.

I wonder why Dede attacked Matt out of the blue. Is it just because of the noble-commoner divide. Is there more to this little incident? In any case, it’ll be interesting getting to the bottom of this mystery.

Quite right. Devilishly clever of our heroine to take advantage of that.

Sweet backstory between Claire and Lene.

Protecting her homies like a true Chad.

Rae unlocked the hidden route but isn’t picking the right dialogue options. Again her not knowing everything about the game world like she thinks. Hang in there Rae. It’s not over yet.

      Interested in where that goes.

The reverse maid/butler cafe went as I expected. Of course, Rae had a field day seeing Claire in a Butler’s outfit or a suit and tie. At least she handled the tough customer well.

It’s interesting to see more about Claire’s and Lenes past. Of course, Claire won’t like the Commoner’s Movement for obvious reasons and see a conflict coming ahead, which make me wonder what Rae was planning all along.

Interesting spin on the typical maid cafe trope, and it worked too!

The scene with Claire taking Rae’s order was so funny.

Their fair date was a nice montage as well. Good stuff there.

That ending really is setting up some exciting story points for next ep!
