Yohane The Parhelion Episode 2: Magical Roll Call

The excitement to meet more Aqours beauties in their alternate lives.

We joined Yohane again nagging about her hometown being lame and wanting to leave. Lailaps (The upcoming game is going with Lailaps too so I’ll stick with that for the rest of the coverage) reminded her she had no money so she turned to a “hidden talent” and opened a fortunetelling shop. After hours of waiting her first “customers” were kids who wanted help finding their ball. She’s like “No money, no service”. More hours waiting until the bell rang again.

To her surprise it’s Hanamaru coming to say hey. She also wanted to introduce her to other friends. Yohane tried to refuse but the Zura charm was too strong to resist.

First up were Chika, her mom and sisters. Great seeing the beautiful quartet again. They ran an inn. An interesting part came when Hamaru asked Chika if she enjoyed her job. I don’t know if it was because of her tone but Chika sounded gave a “Yeah, but…” answer. I could be wrong. We’ll get back to her later.

The city is in safe hands with The Perfect Chief looking out for everyone. Also intrigued to learn more about newcomer Kohaku in the near future.

During a flawless meeting Yohane spotted TinkerRuby hiding in the bookshelf not wanting to be seen for whatever reason before disappearing.

During both visits Yohane realized how hard it was communicating with so many people at once. She couldn’t see herself doing that. What she actually aspired to is becoming unique, meaning having her own unique talent and an amazing career/life. As she said this a wild flying You was briefly spotted. Afterward she watched Hanamaru happily selling her goods. As she proudly counted her money Yohane’s like “You sold so much and THAT’s all you got?” Hanamaru tried to hold back her sadness and said “It’s not all about the money”. Yohane tried to apologize but the damage had been done.

As Lailaps saw her gloomy sister she wondered what’s next for her. She jokingly asked Yohane if she wanted to leave town but our heroine said no. She said it wasn’t right. We knew the real reason.

To their surprise the bell rang. At last Yohane got her first true customer, Riko! I was happy because her fortunetelling felt like the return of the Yohane I knew and loved. It went as well as one would expect. To sum up her visit Riko came to Yohane in hopes her abilities could help with her investigation of animals going wild. She’s a zoologist. The irony was not lost on me. The session went as well as one would expect. Vintage Yohane goodness.

When Lailaps entered the room Riko was enthralled by the ultra rare canine. She tried to buy her from Yohane because her species were worth a fortune. Obviously our heroine wasn’t about to sell her sister…

…after giving it some serious thought. Never change Fallen Angel.

The same kids from the day prior returned with some cash and an acorn. Yohane again refused but when a senior citizen asked for help she caved in and agreed to help as many people as she could for the day. Although aware she’d become a glorified errand girl it felt strangely satisfying getting paid for doing good deeds. As the sun set she came across Hanamaru again.

All I will say about this wonderful YohaMaru moment is I hope they stay the course. Do not screw things up again like in Sunshine S2. I am serious. Give me max Darkness-Zura Power!

Later despite trying to poorly hide it she felt pretty good about how things went with her good deeds and making up with Hanamaru. Lailaps felt a bit sad Yohane felt confident enough to visit Hanamaru by herself at night. Yes, at night, after hearing The Perfect Chief tell the troops to warn everyone not to go out at night the day prior.

After the ED Yohane somehow ended up walking through the forest when the darkness started the engulf her as corrupted animals surrounded her. Then my 2nd hype moment of the episode happened. You all know what was #1.

I only follow the anime universe so I had no clue about Chika developing a superheroine alter ego at some point in the mobile games or other Love Live media. More importantly, the three sisters being defenders of justice was one of the greatest things I had seen in my life thus far.
