Symphogar AXZ Episode 11: Godlike Bombshell

This was a jaw dropping episode to say the least.

Saint-Germain cool pose.jpg

Saint Germain pic because she looks so sexy and cool.

When last we left our heroines Kirika pulled off a Swan Song stunt to protect Hibiki and Saint-Germain from a powerful blast. Thankfully like previous warriors who risked their lives performing this deadly move throughout the series she was safely recovered and taken to the infirmary. Back to Hibiki and the Saint they engaged Adam in combat while Tiki was absorbing the divine power.

Adam launched his Adamantium hat that blocked all SG’s bullets when Hibiki stepped in to deflect it. SG was surprised by this and Hibiki said “So was my wife”. She sympathized with SG for having had a really rough past and maybe she could help lessen the burdens she’s held inside all this time by being there to hear her out. SG got the message and told her the main target was Tiki. Christopher’s response to this team-up was delightful.

The battle resumed with the two giving Adam a hard time despite him being somewhat stronger than them. SG then spotted something very odd about Adam: He was still wearing his clothes. Thus she figured out he couldn’t all his power because he used most of it on the “Plan B” sky gate. They double teamed him and got a good blow on his left arm. Then this happened…

Shocking twist.jpg

I did NOT SEE THIS COMING!

Yes doods and peeps. Adam’s a Puppet too. He was built long ago by the Illuminati higher ups as a figurehead for the organization following all their ideals should anything happen to them. However, as is often the case with ultimate creations Adam was built TOO WELL. They tried sealing him away but it didn’t work. Adam’s master plan was to wipe out all humanity and replace it with HIS image of the perfect being, basically “robotopia”. Seeing her beloved injured Tiki prematurely rushed the ritual resulting in…

Abomination.jpg

Divine Abomination.

This. Not quite what Adam had in mind but it would have to do. How did Hibiki respond to this incredible threat?

Hibiki PAWNCH!.jpg

HIBIKI PAWNCH!

How else? It cost the US a space satellite but again whatevs. Unfortunately despite getting a good blow on Tiki she swatted Hibiki hard, knocking her out for a bit. Christopher’s response was again delightful.

Kazanari head taking action.jpg

Kazanari head taking matters into his on hands.

Suffice to say the Grandpa Kazanari didn’t think it was “whatevs” and decided to take matters into his own hands. We’ll see where that goes next time.

Back to our duo. With Hibiki down SG put up a valiant effort against Tiki but like the serpent earlier in the season she too had a dimensional barrier equipped, rendering SG’s attacks pointless. Even so she wouldn’t give up. Hibiki’s words motivated her to seek redemption at all costs and of course to avenge her fallen comrades who “lost their lives” for nothing.

When all hope seemed lost out of nowhere Ninja guy got the information about the god slayer from an unexpected source. I think it was one of the astronauts from season 3 who so happened to be on board the cargo ShiraKiri rescued from crashing with a building earlier this season. Anyway the god slayer turned to be Gungnir. Hibiki then got up from her nap and was ready for Round 2.

Saint-Germain vs a One-armed Adam.jpg

Saint-Germain keeping a One-Armed Adam distracted.

Gotta admit. I didn’t think much of Adam throughout the show. However, I will admit that the surprise reveal and him using his broken arm as a club did give him some cool points. Not much but something. As for Hibiki and Tiki…

Hibiki DESTROYS TIKI.jpg

DESTROYED!

I love this series SO. FREAKIN’. MUCH!

Adam was like “Hmm. You barely made it. Kay. Buuuuuut I need something tougher to host the divine power so…

Adam disposing of Tiki.jpg

Scoot you lovesick freak.

Adam offered his left hand to be the new vessel. The divine power was like “Screw your crappy arm. I want the babe.”

Divine Cocoon.jpg

Hibiki’s in there.

I have no idea what’s going to happen now but I’m hyped as can be to find out! See you next time.

I don’t even know whats going to happen now, losing Hibiki is like taking at least 30% of the team power. I mean, everyone is powerfull and badass but were talking Hibiki here.

Also I started freaking out when Hibiki and Saint-Germain were fighting Tiki and Adam, since that song is from the mobile game, Symphogear DX. I even looked at my mobile just to double check if I wasnt playing at the time xD.

Overall a good episode, and I-m relieved Kiri is ok, she recovered freaking fast tho.

Maybe this is me wishing for the impossible, but I think theres no better chance/exscuse to introduce Miku as a part of the team. But this is just me wanting Miku to come back as a Sumphogear user.

It’ll be interesting to see how they’ll manage while their ace is temporarily out of action.

I’m not in the mood to play the game using English transcripts online. I’d rather the game be patched but I don’t know if it can be done for mobile games.

I suspect Miku will return to the battlefield next season but you never know. I predict she’ll play a huge part in freeing Hibiki from the divine power’s control though.

I am thinking myself that this si how Miku will be given a new Symphogear. I can’t see them having anyone else freeing Hibiki from that monstrosity

Again Miku HAS to play a major role in freeing her wife. If they find another way, fine but this is the perfect opportunity for Miku to make her grand return to the battlefield.

I would expect for her to somehow get the Shénshòujìng again. After all they don’t need the full relic. Also I think it would be more logical since the Shénshòujìng is pretty powerful and can even destroy other relics, maybe it could help destroy that thing. But who knows we’ll have to wait.

It was nice to see Tiki get wrecked, but sadly didn’t really get the same satisfaction from Adam…but I guess there’s still hope for that

With a ending like this anything goes, hopefully Miku will be the one to save the day.

Seeing how everyone thinks the same, theres a good chance it will happen.
It’s been done before and It will happen again.

Miku’s always there for Hibiki, thanks to her Hibiki always overcomes any hardship (In every season), but hopefully as you said and as a lot of us expect, she will be given a major role and save the day.

So yeah, I’m with everyone else on the Miku train. They even gave a nod to her presence during this fight. The game also gave Miku a new song and an X-drive form of her symphogear, so they’re all set on that front.

Because the producers felt like “you can contribute without fighting” was a huge part of Miku’s character arc in G, they needed a pretty good excuse to get her back into the action in any form. But you won’t get a much better excuse than this thing, will you?

Now we wait. There are two episodes left where they can pull it off.

I didnt want to spoil that part to anyone, but yeah that new song is awesome.

Everyone who thought the first one said a lot about Miku’s fellings, then just wait to hear this one. Hell, the song name is ‘Eternal love promise’, seriously Miku needs to come out clean by the end of the season or in the next one.

  5. SO MUCH HYPE!

Plot twists that I actually dit not see coming. (Also, continuity™.) Wow. This season is proving to be (once more, obviously) simply amazing. As only Symphogear does.

Chris’ almost-completely-un-self-aware comments about SG were amusing, as was her later comment about Hibiki. I agree. “That’s exactly what you did way back in season 1! Forgot about it already?” (Also Maria, Kirika and Shirabe…it’s not really a new concept in this series, Chris…)

Also on the “Miku, save your wife by getting a (new?) Relic and being badass once more”-train. Though I will also likely be satisfied if she simply is the person who saves Hibiki without getting a Relic and maybe she simply get more confortable with the idea of a Relic again that way and gets one next season. But we’ll see. The opportunity is there now, but will they use it?

The Kazanari head joining the battle does make me worried now though, with that ending…he does seem the type to use too much force to end threats, even if those threats are from allies of his, rather than too little…though who’s to say what happens next might not be too much for him to handle anyway?

    • Also, I guess this episode practically confirms Prelati and Cagliostro dead (at least for the moment)…They’d have to have hidden themselves after their respective defeats so well that neither Adam, Tiki, Saint-Germain or Prelati herself in the case of Cagliostro knew that they survived, which seems exceedingly unlikely…I guess it’s still possible they could be brought back still (by Saint-Germain, most likely), but there’s not maybe even enough time this season possibly for that unless it happens at the very, very end, so possibly season 5 side-plot?

    • Cytrus says:

Even if Miku gets involved with saving Hibiki in some way this season, I doubt she would get a full song at this point, because it would be very weird to do that without releasing a character CD for the season.

That said, this season might just end with only some plot points resolved and a cliffhanger, since they were always going to do two seasons anyway.

Christopher is the queen of funny quips

As I said once before they will either show up out of nowhere or most likely be revived before or at the last minute.

She doesn’t need to transform or have an insert song. Just show up in grand fashion.

      Dunno what to expect honestly.

  6. Keitchup says:

I did not see that coming! I just love how unpredictable this show is. The hook never loses its bite. Adam is puppet? That horrible jerk who keeps on showing his abs? And there’s an even greater boss? Well, it seems logical given that we also have Season 5 in line. I hope there will be more seasons for this. It’s not dragging unlike other anime series which just gets extended for profit.

Things are more interesting now that Hibiki gained the divine power. I’m excited to see what they’ll do now that the god slayer became the god. Also, I really want to see Miku back in action. That short scene could be a foreshadowing for the next episode because if there’s anyone who can bring Hibiki back, it’s her waifu. And I’m still hoping for Prelati and Cagliostro’s return.

Lastly, Chris comments are gold! Especially when Hibiki was knocked out. Oh man, I’m so hyped!

It was certainly unexpected. I initially thought Adam was the big bad and he’d retreat and then come back stronger next season. Looks like we’ll be getting someone stronger next time.

We’re all hoping Miku will make a game changing return to the battlefield very soon.

      That they are.
