The Vexations of a Shut-in Vampire Princess Episode 10: Pinko Revolutionairo

Last time cultured people were blessed by greatness along with an introduction to possibly the last two Komari harem beauties of the season. Let’s see what else the duo had in store.

Nelia meets Yulinne

We began with a look at Nelia’s backstory. Thankfully it wouldn’t be long before we learned what she meant by having met Komari before. She’s the heir to the Aruka empire and dad wanted her to become a benevolent leader but Nelia preferred to be a strong one like Madhart, aka the Inverse Moon elite (not leader as I previously assumed). One day dad introduced her to a strong teacher, Yulinne, aka Komari’s mom, who taught her not to antagonize everyone willy-nilly or there’d be no one left to want to join her should she be in a pinch. Nelia didn’t take that lesson seriously in the past but we can take a wild guess, aka know, why she changed her mind in the present.

Karla and KoharuSomeone dared say Karla’s “just okay” when she’s actually a magnificent bumbling airhead who does her best despite numerous shortcomings. She and Komari were alike in that respect except our heroine was far stronger and was adored by her peers whereas Koharu didn’t seem to think highly of dear Karla. Koharu too is adorable. Probably her token more intelligent imouto who does care deep down? We’ll see.

Guy mocks NeliaI assume this dickweed at the anti-heroes meeting will be the one Komari must destroy when she goes badass this arc.

We again joined Nelia at the aforementioned meeting where she tried to ask for another chance to prove herself by capturing Komari but Madhart and the others disagreed. The above jerk was like “Give it up and become my bride already” to which Nelia said “Never! I WILL become the new president of Aruka and expose all you corrupt bastards. Mark my words!”. The doofus laughed as Gertrude tried to calm her mistress who was like “It’s all good” while clenching her pendant, a gift from Mistress Yulinne. There’s only one person she knew to ask for help.

Ren greets Komari in bedMy question isn’t how Vill got a sleeping Komari and her whole bed all the way to the meeting room far from the palace but WHO offered to help? My guesses are Sakuna, Mr Heaven and maybe Empress Ren. I highly doubt the other Crimson Lords cared to help, especially a certain glorious grouch who let Komari have it for oversleeping. Maybe Karla and her homies lent a hand too.

Anyway the anti-heroes alliance as I will call them going forward declared war on Team Komari. As Vill explained the situation Komari naturally wondered when the heck she’s appointed leader. It’s due to a news headline about Karla and her shaking hands last episode. I forgot to mention there was a reporter duo being silly sneaks and getting the big scoop but to be honest there isn’t much to say, not even after this episode. Anyway Komari tried to slip away saying she wanted to enjoy the pool but Vill’s like “I would love to have joined you but remember where we are right now”.

Flöte's rageI don’t think Komari could accuse Flöte of misunderstanding her this time.

Team Komari finally discussed how to best deal with the enemy. Once again one of the lords, Petrose, wasn’t present, as they’re already stationed on the battlefield. While Komari pondered about Petrose’s mysterious identity the enemy launched a surprise attack.

Ren unamused by Madhart's threatsHopefully those in Arcane took notes to prepare for Season 2. Viewers who saw S1 will know what I’m talking about. After our heroes survived the blast through various means Madhart called Empress Ren to immediately surrender but as he blabbed on she’s like “Yeah, whatever. Yo Petrose. Nuke this dumbass, will ya?” Unlikely we’ll see Petrose in person but it would be neat.

Prohellya ZutazutaskyHer name is Prohellya Zutazutasky, or Butchersky in the translation. I just felt like typing her names. Also Flöte countered one of her sniper bullets by cutting it in half. Stupendous.

Vill's buttonVill’s anti-giraffe soldier button. Because of course the beastfolk’s elite military force consisted of giraffes with propeller necks that were as strong as wrecking balls. Of course it was. Also of course Vill came prepared by planting landmines when no one was looking, again. Lastly of course Blockhead made a lame cameo and got axed right away. The plan was to warp everyone to safety but their respite was short because the jackass from earlier had his sights on Komari.

Nelia swoops in to warp everyone to safetyTo everyone’s surprise Nelia, who was spotted in the front lines, came outta nowhere to warp Komari along with Vill, Karla and Gertrude to safety. Unfortunately due to the ensuing chaos they didn’t end up at the designated location but elsewhere. She took the opportunity to explain herself.

Photo of Nelia and YulinneShe revealed her connection to Mama Yulinne as her former student, earning Komari’s full attention.

Kid Komari and NeliaAt last it’s time for the anticipated flashback. Nelia first met Komari at a party where they shared a pudding and discussed Yulinne’s greatness. That’s when she learned about Komari’s desire to achieve world domination through peaceful negotiations and not violence. She showed this by wanting to become Nelia’s friend. Surprised by this alternative route to conquest Nelia’s inspired but before their friendship could be made official Madhart interrupted saying she shouldn’t fraternize with vampires. Komari countered that the party was to make friends and she didn’t see any reason to go against that. What really touched Nelia’s heart was Komari trying to rationalize, aka offer her half of the pudding to Madhart despite him ruining their friendship ceremony.

Now that Komari remembered Nelia explained her mission to retake Aruka from Madhart and restore it along with making the world better with help from Komari. Naturally Vill was suspicious but Komari, ever the lovable chick magnet, gave her a chance.

Nelia kisses Komari's cheekNelia kissing Komari’s cheek was excellent (Plus the insinuation that she’s going for the lips next was a glorious bonus) but Vill’s reaction was what made me repeat this a hundred times. Fucking fantastic. The mainstream have Rae but for my money Vill is the supreme jelly gay, or gay, period.

There are still 2 episodes to go so methinks Nelia’s love for Komari is legit but she’s struggling with balancing it and the love of her kingdom so something fishy could happen before she joins the harem. Lastly I do hope Karla joins too. Need that wonderful airhead openly pining for Komari too.

Great stuff as always.

  2. I wasn’t expecting Nelia to have that connection with Komari, but I thought it was a great one. It was nice to see that they almost became friends as children, but there’s always the sourpuss edge lords that have to ruin it. It clearly didn’t stop Nelia from wanting to be Komari’s friend though, even if her exact allegiances are uncertain for now. I fully expect her to join the harem though by seasons end, along with Karla I’m sure. She’s a really lovable airhead. I like Koharu too. She seems like the more competent badass for the two and is cute. They all are though, tbh.

And yes, that kiss was certainly an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. I replayed it a couple times. However, Vill’s reaction was indeed amazing and worthy a multiple re-watches too. I really hope we’ll get at least a brief scene of the full harem interacting in the finale. I just know they’ll probably be loads of fun together lol.

Also, I absolutely love Butchersky’s design! She seems like the type of deliciously evil badass I like. I hope we’ll get to see her once more before the seasons end too. ^^

Oh yes indeed. A very welcome surprise move by Nelia. Looking forward to seeing how she officially joins the harem.

I love Karla. Koharu is indeed adorable too.

So good! Vill is a legend.

YES! One scene of the big breasted babes all pining for the petite hottie. It MUST happen.

Need another season with Butchersky in the forefront or at least one scene of her kicking ass before the end of the season.

For the love of the absolute goddess of music and school idols, Dia Kurosawa, how dare people mock the all powerful, nigh unstoppable Karla! They have yet to see her true power! \s

In all honestly, I loved Karla since she was first introduced in volume 3 and Koharu is quite cute too.

Also Vill needs to realize the more she forces Komari to work, the more girls she’s going to (accidentally) seduce.

    Poor Vill.
Not only does Komari have 3 busty waifu’s in her harem, she now has to deal with an angry pink haired one.

You can even see the moment her soul leaves her body.

Some cool moments this episode, Flote slicing the bullet in half (and hitting the two unfortunate dudes beside her) was really cool.
That flashback scene at the party, I really liked it and you can see how much peace-loving Komari was even back then.
Nelia going in for the kill! on the cheek, but still it’s a score! And trying to excuse it as a native greeting. ehehe, that’s an old rusted excuse, but we will take it.

I am liking Nelia a good deal more than Sakuna so far~
Karla is also great! I see Koharu as someone who loves her mistress but is aware that Karla is not the strongest/competentest/bravest ninja in the tatami, and does everything she can to support her, while also offering biting remarks. Similar to Vil, but less open about things. Meanwhile, we have Nelia’s maid, who falls in the water because she’s so distracted by the view of her mistress’ rear XD
This is already shaping up to be a much better arc! Even if it started off a bit all over the place.

Komari, it’s all your fault for being such a girl magnet. Take responsibility for all those cuties now ^^

Vill finds new ways to dazzle by undressing and dressing Komari while running on the street carrying her during a war. Oh Vill. Also her voice acting during that landmine button thing was so perfect ^^

      Ganbare Vill!

She’s trained her whole teenage life to become Komari’s wife. Of course she’s a beauty of many talents.

Yup. It’s very sexy. Also shows how little she cared about the Hunky Bunch. Rightfully so.

Vill brought Komari along with her bed was so funny. They bring the bed scene to another level. When the show introduce Komari as one in a million beauty they’re not kidding. Poor Vill has to see her beloved with other girls, so many girls. Can’t be helped, Komari is just so damn fine. Although I laughed too much. So sorry Vill. It’s so funny, I had to reply that scene multiple times. The second kiss was on the lips based on Komari reaction.

I didn’t pay attention on Neril before because I thought she’s going to be the villain. Silly me of course she has a crush on Komari too. Karla is the lovable goofball I like her. She’s not that strong but maybe she has secret power too? I ship her with her cute ninja. Flote still a badass hotie as always.

It’s tough for a girl to love a girl so beautiful other girls are instantly drawn to her. Even so Vill’s jelly rage is glorious.

Nelia didn’t do much for us non-source readers at first but she more than proved herself an excellent addition to the cast and soon harem.

We can assume Nelia did kiss Komari on the lips or was about to.

Karla is love. Yes, her with Koharu would be nice.

I too have an inexplicable love for Flote.

We need to start counting Vill’s distraught face at Komari’s “lewd” interactions with her ever growing harem girls 😆

So it really looks like Karla is not as strong as she claimed and she truly is a pacifist, although her plans to bring about a peaceful resolution aren’t well thought out apparently. She and Komari can definitely relate and they would have plenty to talk about concerning their circumstances. Unfortunately for her, like what happened this episode, she seems like the kind of person who gets dragged into dangerous situations against her will.

I was thinking that Komari’s squad could have helped carry her bed to the meeting, but they don’t know where she lives (and Vill wouldn’t allow them to set foot in her house, let alone her room). It’s possible if she was taken to the barracks.

Madhart thought he was in a position to demand Karen’s surrender. He ate a nuke for his trouble. He didn’t know who he was messing with. I think she’s the kind of person who would shoot the messenger sent by the enemy camp just to start a war. She does love fighting and showing off the might of the Empire.

The fight that unfolded was hilariously chaotic. The highlights were the windmill giraffes and Ms.Zutazutasky’s/Butchersky’s grand appearance. Really reminded me of a certain other magical loli sniper with blond hair.

I did not see that kiss coming from Nelia. It was so sudden. Vill’s reaction to that was hilarious, though 😉. I think she’s legit but I’m just waiting for Inverse Moon to rear its ugly head and make things more difficult for Komari again.
