Yohane The Parhelion Episode 6: Loner Squad

When we last left our heroine she had healed the heart of the ghost fish empress. She’s about to give her a special treat when the calamity struck again.

Familiar darkness terrorized YohaMari. They heard something near and readied themselves.

Fortunately the scary creature was a wild Riko who was as freaked out as the duo.

A few days later the duo visited Riko’s library where she happily greeted the big wolf doggo and was also eager to study Mari’s ghost fish. Once cooler heads prevailed they exchanged information on the calamity and how it affected children and animals.

Mari elaborated that this wasn’t the only time the calamity terrorized Numazu. The tome passed down from her family contained information of the countless battles against the darkness. Once again the key to fight back was the Resonance and the search for the answer continued. Currently we knew it’s connected to the power of friendship and song. They didn’t have much else to go on. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could help. We all knew what that meant.

Riko wasn’t sure if she’s ready to join them but Yohane’s like “If you come with us you can pet the doggo as much as you like”.

Although the smartest being in the multiverse was happy to help she scolded the trio for carelessly putting themselves in danger. Her being the strongest in the multiverse they could do not but accept their fate. That’s when TinkerRuby tried to calm her…

Riko’s eagerness to study rare creatures was almost as strong as the Perfect One’s awesome power. After some cool moves from YohaMari the goddess calmed down and let them go with a warning. They could continue their investigation so long as they worked together. Riko was a bit shaken when she said that. We’d learn why soon. Until then however, she told them she’d leave town the next day. Yohane asked if they could make some great memories together before her departure but Riko hesitated before leaving.

Next day YohaMari both wanted to visit Riko. They invited her out. Again she hesitated but accepted. As they went around town they saw animals and kids troubled. They knew why. Later when it became clear they had no real plan for their day out Riko asked to leave. YohaMari could relate to Riko feeling like an outsider who didn’t belong and assured her they’re there to help. Riko felt the sincerity in their words and shared her backstory.

Her family moved around a lot and parting with friends time and again hurt her. One day she found a lost dog in the rain. Although not good with animals she took them in and enjoyed their company. Eventually their owner came to pick them up. Though happy to see her friend reunited with their owner she again said goodbye to another friend and felt lonely. From that day she studied to become a traveling zoologist. She didn’t stay in one place for long and distanced herself from people so as to not make friends and not have to endure the sadness of parting ways again.

Thanks to her fellow loners the trio came together to form the Loner Squad. We got a cool music video from them. Wonderful stuff. As their friendship grew Mari shared another discovery from the tome about a singer destined to sing the song of salvation. Hearing Yohane wanting to perform on her special stage got Mari thinking that maybe Yohane is the chosen one. Mari and Riko didn’t want Yohane to feel the pressure and said it’s her decision if the time came. They obviously had her back.

The squad reported to the Perfect Sisters who commended them on their contributions toward the calamity investigation. Regarding Yohane being the one to sing the song of salvation Dia had another stage in mind but it would take time to prepare. Until then she too wanted to support Yohane and get to know her along with the others better so TinkerRuby announced they’d all have a girls’ night.
