Love Live! Nijigasaki Episode 11: The Fuse

When we last left our heroines there seemed to be a storm brewing. Little did we know how powerful that storm would be.

Yu and Kasumi present the SIF request form

We began with Yu and Kasukasu requesting permission from the seitokai to approve the SIF. Unfortunately the vice-president and twin secretaries didn’t have enough information to approve it. Nana, still hiding her alter-ego, could only do so much. The bright side was they gave our heroines a sort of checklist to fill in and come back once it’s finished.

The first order of business was to find a venue for the super show. There were many great ones but they couldn’t vote on the right one.

Ayumu still sad

The titular fuse, Ayumu’s heart. Get used to this expression throughout the episode as the countdown reached its climax later on.

Karin shows her power to Himeno

Next was discussing the festival with fellow school idols, mainly Haruka and Himeno’s groups. As we can see Himeno was more than ready to share the stage with Karin again. When it comes to anime if you’re a gorgeous girl/woman and are into other girls/women expect your strongest weapon to be the sensual chin grab.

Kasumin Box

The school idols were all on board but they still needed to find a venue. Kasumin was one step ahead and introduced her brilliant Kasumin Box, which was cuter than she was if we were to ask Setsuna. Alas it was Summer vacation and no one noticed the cute cardboard puppet.

Ayumu getting sadder

Tick tock, tick tock.

Yu pondering something

While walking home Ayumu commented on how tough it would be to put on a show that could please everyone. Yu thought about it.

Yu interested in the Vice-President's favorite idol

The next day they had a pretty good idea what kind of show to put on. Thanks to the Kasumin Box now filled with fan suggestions after their homies helped spread the word Yu presented her plan to hold a concert in every single one of the potential venues. One show on every stage, be it from the SIC or the other groups. This was good enough for the seitokai and they’re at last approved. Setsuna even got an unexpected new fan. Hopefully one day she’ll consider hooking up with the megane hottie should things go the way we hope they do next episode.

Ayumu sees Yu and Setsuna together againAyumu even sadder

Tick tock, tick tock.

Ayumu, feeling her fuse getting shorter all of a sudden ran to get drinks but Setsuna came along.

Setsuna drops a bombshell on Ayumu

Why was this a bombshell to Ayumu?

Later that evening Yu conveniently called Ayumu over to her room. She had an important announcement to make but before she could say anything…

Ayumu's about to explode

TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK!

Ayumu explodes

Boom.

This wasn’t a “You don’t need me anymore, do you?” explosion. This was a “Please be mine, and only mine” Supernova!

Saturday, December 19th cannot come soon enough.

It was quite the way to finish off the episode! Never expected them to go this far with it, but they have been getting better about the yuri every series of Love Live

While every other plot thread has been resolved in an episode’s time, this is one that has been ongoing from nearly the beginning. I actually never expected the littered throughout the show scenes of her jealousy amounting to something like this. Good on the writers for making it more than just a “runaway gag”.

    Next week really can’t come soon enough ;_;

  3. The climax of this episode exceeded any expectations I had going in. Ayumu is not playing any games now. I wonder how Yu will respond? I’m impatiently waiting for next week.

Kasukasu snuck in a Kotobomb. Always a pleasant surprise.

At this point School Idols have been performing internationally for years. What rock has the Veep been living under, and how cute are the girls there?

Yu, please make your response to Ayumu as explicitly gay as possible. Top any other gay moment in Love Live! anime history!

Not sure if I mentioned this anywhere, but Rail Romanesque is an extremely yuri filled three and a half minutes this season.

      So nice.

Must be one of those people who doesn’t much care about what’s trending.

History may very well be made next episode. It’s all up to you Yu.

Really now? I’ll check it out then.

    Another Fantastic Episode!

Those twins are real cuties! Then again, considering I’m a twin myself, I always have a special love for cute twin girls.

Damn Karin! You better be careful, you’re sexiness is lethal!

    The Kasumin Box is adorable!

Setsuna x the megane hottie is very nice. They would make a cute couple.

Yeah Ayumu! You go girl! Get your wifey!

    Can’t wait for next week!

Yu didn’t even flinch when asked who was more important to her. I’m guessing that future dream she had was involving Ayumu and she will finally see Yu has been thinking about her this whole time. I still think she’s learning the piano to write songs for them.

Just watched this episode! So gay! Love it! I think Karin is my favorite. She’s so sexy! Her concert last episode was cool. I loved her singing as well as her dress. Love how Karin seduced Himeno.
I ABSOLUTELY SHIP THE PRESIDENT & THE VP! After all, the VP is a BIG fan of Setsuna. As for the last scene when Ayumu grabbed Yu, that was HOT! The way the creators showed Ayumu squeezing Yu’s leg as she hugged her, AWESOME.

    What an ep this week!

Nice to see the student council being open to letting them hold the SIF. Seems like so many councils in anime are against whatever the main character is trying to do.

Karin with the power move there! I talked a bit about why she seemed out of place for that meeting, but once she did that it all made sense why they brought her along.

Always nice to see more Haruka too. Man she’s so cute!

    Kasumi Box was awesome.

Lots going on with Ayumu, Yu, and Setsuna. I actually really like the title for this review, ‘The Fuse’. Fits so well with this ep and how everything was building up to that final scene.

And speaking of that final scene, wow! Ayumu didn’t hold back at all! The ball is in Yu’s court now, let’s see what she does next.

Yup. Nice change of pace seeing the heroines not have a hard time with the seitokai.

They saw how Himeno reacted. It was a calculated move bringing Karin along.

Kanata and Haruka are cute sisters.

Hope we’ll see it again in the 2nd cour.

Ayumu went for it. Let’s hope it pays off big time. The anticipation my friend. HOO!

This student council was stern but fair, giving the SIC time to improve their proposal. Setsuna made some good selections. Heck, one of them’s a fan of hers now. Won’t she be in for a shock if she ever finds out.

That chin grab was too much for Himeno to handle.

Wow, Ayumu, just…wow. I knew she had reservations when Yu began to expand her support to the others but I did not expect an explosion like that. I liked how Yu absolutely buried the notion that Setsuna was more important to her than Ayumu. I just have a feeling that Ayumu will be surprised(maybe even relieved) by her reply.

It counts as a love confession doesn’t it? I mean you can’t just ask someone to “belong only to you” without the implied romantic love relationship behind it right?
