Love Live! Nijigasaki Episode 3: The Setsuna Box Opened

Last time Karin and some former School Idol Club members asked Nana about the whereabouts of Setsuna as her name was nowhere in the student directory. It appeared Nana was out of options.

Nana confessed to her true identity and was surprised Karin, an outsider, figured it out. The other girls tried to reason with Nana but she was adamant about her retirement and said they could continue chasing their idol dreams without her.

After a scene featuring Nana with Ai, Rina and the kitty from the previous episode she later heard someone playing piano. It was Yu carrying on the tradition from Riko who inherited her skills from Maki though Yu appears to be a novice pianist. Nana asked how she knew the tune of Setsuna’s “CHASE” song.

Yu rushed toward her excited to meet someone she could go crazy talking about Setsuna with. Her cuteness was too strong for “Nana” to handle. She let slip about the new SIC led by Kasumi and her desire to see Setsuna come out of retirement.

Nana then explained why Setsuna retired. She felt her passion to lead her team to greatness was too hardcore after the argument she had with Kasumi. She wanted to lead the team all the way to the Love Live! tournament. That desire to become the best to make fans proud, she saw it as a selfish desire to become the best. Nana thought Setsuna’s selfishness disenchanted Yu but before she could answer Ayumu arrived, giving Nana a chance to walk away. We saw scenes of Nana at home and in the seitokai office forcing herself to give up the idol world no matter how badly she wanted to continue deep down. She felt it was best for the rest of the club to continue without her.

Karin’s so sexy her intimidation is both scary and hot. Both groups came together to discuss Setsuna and Nana. Karin was like “You have enough members to bring back the SIC so I don’t see what the problem is. If Setsuna doesn’t want to come back then no use worrying about her” but everyone felt it wouldn’t be the same without her. Even Kasumi admitted her toughness wasn’t all bad. The question was how to convince her to come back.

Yu was like “I’m the harem protagonist. I got this”.

Setsuna is a Mortal Kombat fan.

Before another kick ass Setsuna performance she told her new beloved, “You want Setsuna back in action? Be careful what you wish for baby.”

You see this right here? This is not just fanart. This is the “Anata Prophecy”. Either her harem will only consist of Ayumu, Kasumi and Setsuna or all of Nijigasaki will fall victim to her cuteness. It will be a most glorious journey to see if the prophecy is fulfilled.
