A Kiss for the Petals/Sono Hanabira ni Kichizuke o

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the localization of A Kiss For The Petals games, the English patches have been removed in hopes that the other games will slowly but surely get localized.

(Intro mostly taken from Listless Ink)

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo (その花びらにくちづけを) began as a simple yuri visual novel that features a really light yuri story. It emphasized the soft romance between two girls and quickly became one of a kind in a world dominated by fetishist and heavy materials. It was also one of the first ecchi visual novel that features purely yuri relationships. Because of its uniqueness, it soon gained widespread popularity not only within the niche, but among many anime fans.

Following the success of the first game, Sono Hanabira quickly expanded into a series of games that all cater to the sweet fluffy side in us. Since its humble beginning, the visual novel series has also prompted several associated artworks, light novels, drama CDs, an artbook, and even an anime adaptation.

Here are some plugs for two colleagues who have done much more to share the greatness of Sono Hanabira with the entire world than I ever could.

Yi-san The woman who introduced me, and many others, to the majesty that is SH. Besides her impeccable SH page, she’s the yuri nation’s fashion guru. She has some neat editorials, anime and manga reviews.

AXYPB: The mysterious creator of the Sono Hanabira international introduction/distribution website, Petals’ Garden. He could bean android or the second coming of Sir Grodus for all I know but what matters is he truly wants to push SH’s awesomeness to the West and beyond Asian borders for all nation members to experience. For all Hanabira intel and updates, give him a buzz.

And now without further ado, here are the reviews:

Download all the files and move all the files you extracted to the Sono Hanabira Folder, replacing any files when asked to copy over them. Once finished, click on Hanabira-EN to play the game.

After downloading the installer for Hanabira 2 and you get to the part where you see
“Browse”, search for where you extracted My Dear Prince and click OK. Then proceed with installation.

Any ideas about new translations? I’ve finished the 8 first games like years ago and I’d like to at least know if someone is working on translating the next ones… This is by far the best series of visual novels I’ve played, I really hope I would be able to enjoy more of it.

I had kind of a hard time playing through it. Playing it right after SH8 might not help but I think it’s the weakest entry yet. Runa is unbearable, even worse than in their first game. Looking forward to your review.

  10. Don’t know where to put it, but here may be something worth reporting:

It’s about a YuriVN by Razz, now in the works for 2 years. There’s a playable demo now and she is asking for feedback. Finished game is gonna cost 10$ and is going to have 2 routes with 6 endings.

    Story goes like this:
You play as Aria, a girl who moves into her grandfather’s old house. While exploring the upstairs study one night, she and her friend Melody accidentally unleash a flirtatious demon named Lyria, who spent the past 50 years in a stone.

After freeing her from her prison, the two become attached by a ‘Lifelink Stone’, which means Lyria can’t go far from Aria without feeling repercussions, and vice versa. This gets quite awkward when Aria tries to go about (what’s left of) her normal life.

Oh I’m still waiting myself for more patches after Hanahira! but I’m guessing the copyright stuff caught up with the translators and now they can’t continue anymore. Who knows? For now all we can do is wonder if they’ll get localized or some unknown heroes finish translating the games.

Ah what the copyrights? But they aren’t even english translated or licenced by english publishers. 😦 I guess i will have to attempt to play the st michaels game in Kanji. And attempt is a major overstatement

Are you going to put the information for the other visual novels up there? and do you know when they are going to release another english patch like for the next one? I got Remembering How We Met on steam but i dont want to play it yet because i havent been able to play the first one with Risa And Miya meeting for the first time it just would not be the same if i started this one then if and when the english patch came out for the next one i would have already skipped ahead. lol I have played all of the ones with english patches before so ive just been waiting… for a while for the next one to come out. I know you probably will but keep updating this page so i can maybe play another new A Kiss For The Petals visual novel. Thank you for listening to all i have to say here.

As far as the patches go they are cancelled until further notice in hopes that the other games will eventually get localized as well. Also Remembering When We Met takes place before Maidens of Michael so you won’t be missing anything crucial playing it before the other games featuring Risa and Miya.

Wait a while and see what happens first. Hopefully Remembering How We Met will sell well enough to warrant localizations of the other games.

So do you know if all of the VN’s are going to be localized? If so do you know when they plan on doing it? Do you know of a way for me to be able to read them? Like a program or something? I’m either gonna have to wait a while for them to be localized or well the harder option which is learn Japanese. ha
