D4DJ All Mix Episodes 1+2: Everyone is Here!

Glad to be back talking about them gay DJs again. Similar to Mou Ippon! I didn’t cover the premiere because something stopped me. In this case it’s because the premiere didn’t have much to talk about. It’s mainly a fun roll call for all six groups as I’ll briefly explain here.

Merm4id and RONDO collab show

Before that be sure to check out the Special “D4DJ: Double Mix” which can be seen HERE. It shines the spotlight on Merm4id and RONDO as the “sexy” and “mature” groups respectively. It also serves as a midway point into All Mix as it ends with the last new group, Lyrical Lily, watching the other five on stage. We began All Mix with Lyrical Lily.

Lyrical LilyIn short Lyrical Lily are a Catholic DJ group. I don’t mean like Christian rock groups. I mean they come from a Catholic school where they convinced the nuns to allow them to become a DJ group despite being old school because it’s a form of community service, which when you thought about it was true since they entertained.people. This led us to the main story of the show, that being Lyrical Lily organizing a Super Gay DJ jamboree to raise money for the community “Locodol” style. To do this they got in touch with the other five groups. That’s Episode 1 in a nutshell. Great seeing everyone again but not much to delve into.

Lyrical Lily host a meetingEpisode 2 began with Muni doing what she did best, going online to read fan comments praising her. However, she discovered the Super Gay DJ Jamboree didn’t get as much hype as they thought. Sure the reigning champs Peaky P-Key’s performance got a lot of views but there wasn’t much talk about the event itself. The reason was the City Hall Committee did a poor job promoting it online. Thanks to the wise words of a cute Solo DJ the girls agreed to make a promotional video themselves hyping up the town and its many attractions, again like Locodol.

The rest of the episode was a continuation of what the fun roll call in Episode 1 did, which was briefly show all the girls and their group dynamic, this time through commercials.

Rei being ReiIt’s a shame Rei’s old seiyu left the project as I thought her voice fit Rei perfectly but her new seiyu does a good job retaining her whimsical ojou-sama charm. She remains my favorite member of Happy Around.

Rinku has Muni try her fried fish treatRinku's indirect kiss to MuniMuni's heart skipping a beatMuni’s still the “Arisa” to Rinku’s “Kasumi” and it’s excellent.

Rei's nice messageMuni remembers something importantWe remember “that day” Muni. Oh yes we do.

Photon Maiden at the shrineSaki being adorableThe big takeaway from Photon Maiden’s segment was Saki’s still adorable.

Peaky P-Key trainingLongtime fans of mine should know why the Peaky P-Key segment made me angry.

Merm4id segmentFortunately it’s Merm4id’s turn and I was reminded why they’re my favorite group in the franchise. I FREAKIN’ LOVE MERM4ID!

RONDOLyrical Lily bannerRONDO and Lyrical Lily didn’t do much of note in their segments. Just being mature and cute respectively. To get a better idea of what Merm4id and RONDO are about watch Double Mix. As for Double L I’m sure we’ll learn more about them this season since they’re technically the main group. Plus the next episode hints at the redhead getting the spotlight.

Good stuff. Again glad to have the Gay DJs back.

Aww, Muni got an indirect kiss ^^ Also Muni, when asked if she wants to have a sweet: “I’d rather… points the camera to Rinku’s skirt …eat this”.

24 characters, it turns out – almost a platoon of girls + songs for ~20 min per episode, nothing good for story, i think. 😦

While I didn’t finish the first season of D4DJ, only like two episodes although I do plan to get to it eventually, the second season looks a lot better than I imagined. I know that the animation is basically the same as the second and third season of Bang Dream, but at least the 3DCG doesn’t look as bad.

I didn’t realize that Muni would be a fun character that I would like a lot, although I don’t know like most of the characters, beisdes Rinku, Maho, so I’m mostly watching blind until I finish the first season, but it shouldn’t affect my enjoyment.

Yes, the indirect kiss with Muni and Rinku was cute and it’s funny to see Muni act all tsundere. Also, I guessed right regarding Merm4id, I need to watch that OVA soon.

Finally was able to watch Double Mix recently and it was excellent. Nice to see Merm4id again doing what they do best. I think after watching the behind the scene series with their voice actresses, I appreciate Merm4id a lot more than I already did. Such a great group. Also nice to see more of RONDO, they’re a cool, sexy, and mature group that I hope we get to see more of this season. Also the swimsuit moments were worth the wait.

As for All Mix, it was great to see all the girls back together again! Ep 1 was really a nice roll call for everyone, showing off why we love them all so much. And as always the music and performances are the focus of the show and they’re just as great this season.

Ep 2 once again showed off the girls doing more fun stuff as they promoted the town. I liked the indirect kiss that Muni and Rinku shared. Rinku as usual was totally oblivious to what was happening. Also I totally thought of you doing the Peaky P-Key gym scene and how they didn’t show off the glorious 6 pack of Yuka. What a missed opportunity there.

Looking forward to watching more of this!

Nothing to add here. You nailed all of it. Glad to have the gay DJs back!

Merm4id 4 life! So good. RONDO are excellent too.

Muni can’t hide her true feelings but of course her love interest is a ditz. Love to see it regardless.
