That is not the title of the anime but the simplest way to tell other people what show they are talking about. That or “the one with the protagonist reincarnated into an ASMR microphone”. Since I finished it might as well let people know what to expect. This is “Aru Asa Dummy Head Mic ni Natteita Ore-kun no Jinsei“. Told you Yuri ASMR is easier to remember.
The gist of the show is some middle-aged guy died and was reincarnated into a high school ASMR club microphone. ASMR in simple terms is, as far as I know, used by streamers and VTubers to pique and arouse listeners into wondering what is going on behind the microphone. It is usually meant to imply something sexual unless the streamer/VTuber tells their audience beforehand what they are doing. The most common example is erotically blowing into the mic or reenact cleaning listeners’ ears as they imagine their hands on the beautiful woman’s lap. Men can do it too of course but usually it is the ladies but you get the idea. HAVING SAID ALL THAT only a few episodes have the guy reincarnated into a mic. Sometimes he is a dog or a bike seat…or a pacifier. The joke is having the guy having an erotic moment and over time the girls start to notice his presence but not give it much thought till the finale. Knowing this all viewers have to do is think little of the MC’s existence and they should be fine. I know for some it is almost impossible but there is little else to his existence and reincarnations besides what I described.
These two disappointed me.
Now on to the Yuri. Yes, the girls are gay or bi and lean more toward girls. They are technically split into three pairs but sometimes are open to dating other girls among the cast of six. Most of the episodes are about them hiding their crush or romantic desire for another girl but sometimes it is random such as the laundromat one. Fortunately the “random” episodes are far and few. The gist is throwing as many topics as possible to try and distract themselves from their hard to control lesbian lust. The main pair do have an ongoing story at least. I suppose if the protagonist was a girl as I initially hoped I might have given this show a hearty “give it a try” but as it stands it gets an “if you feel like it”.
This tweet I posted sums up my overall thoughts on this show:
The Yuri ASMR show was nothing special but not horrible either. It had its moments but is only a curiosity at best.
Each episode is about 3 minutes long so if you have half an hour or so to spare it is harmless. Just be aware of the protagonist’s running gag. I suppose if the protagonist was a girl as I initially hoped I might have given this show a hearty “give it a try” but as it stands it gets an “if you feel like it”.
I have to admit this anime was pretty mid. Maybe if the episodes were twice as long or if we got a little focus on the yuri (instead of having a random pointless episodes like the one about the laundry mat ghost story), I would have enjoyed it more. It’s not the worse, I will probably forget it existed by the end of the next season.

Overall enjoyable, but man that tease of an ending….
I didn’t really find anything disappointing (outside the dog episode), and just because the teacher thing seems “over” that girl could end up hooking up with her later. Life doesn’t end after high school (moreso that’s when it actually gets going).
lots of unresolved storylines by the end, but I was glad the yuri was never tossed out/destroyed/etc. It just wouldn’t conclude anything. We still know the imouto is into the kouhai who’s into the oneechan that’s like liked by the black haired girl. We just don’t know if the oneechan reciprocates or not. And imouto has a bit of a road ahead of her. But I’m sure things’ll go somewhere someday, even if we never get another anime about it
The guy was just an observer who said some annoying lines, but was way less of a bother than he could have been.
I have no regrets, and am actually glad it was so short, because if it were longer and ended like that still…but that would also have meant a possibility for even more cute scenes of hte imouto trying to win over the Kouhai….still, probably bettter it was so short.

Love Live has a problem – a battalion of characters for 12 episodes. But here… 6 characters for half an hour, i didn’t even have time to remember their names…

The issue is more with the time not allocated properly than the cast.

i wish they did a bit more “yuri ASMR”, like how they did those actual ASMR in the prequel series (180-Byō de Kimi no Mimi o Shiawase ni Dekiru ka?), but with more of a yuri spin…

Would have been neat, yes.
