Winter 2022 Yuri Game Updates

Time for the last yuri game updates post of 2022.

UPDATE: Added LIP! Lewd Idol Project Volume 2.

Samurai Maiden is now available on PS4, PS5, Steam and Nintendo Switch. A word of warning. Some text was altered or censored in the West along with panty shots. Dunno how true this is myself as I plan to patiently wait for a good enough discount. While that discouraged me somewhat it merely stopped me from getting it Day 1. The curious are free to look up how much exactly it got censored in the West wherever it was covered before and after release. Just make sure you know where to look.

As for the gameplay it can be best described as a spiritual successor to Valkyrie Drive Bhikkhuni except there’s only one playable character while the others are AI controlled partners with their own abilities. As relationships between our heroine and her harem deepen their “power links” become more intimate.

I know I’m late to the party reporting this but since it’s a highly anticipated VN I hope most had it on their Wishlists or radar. Point being Please Be Happy, Studio Elan‘s latest main game, is now available on Steam and itch.io. Console ports are expected sometime in 2023.

Born as a fox in the forest of Korea, Miho carries with her the memory of a traveler who showed her kindness and spoke of home. The Elevator Game with Catgirls, by No Bread Studio, is a horror Yuri VN with point and click gameplay elements. The story is based on the Korean urban legend, Elevator to Another World.

The Elevator Game is a ritual that is said to give the player access to another world by following a strict set of rules.

Motivated by a bet made with her classmate, Asahi’s girlfriend Kirin decides to give the game a try. As Asahi waits outside of the building that Kirin chose to perform the ritual in, she starts to experience some confusing and unexplainable things…

Kirin fails to return that day, or the day after. Feeling somehow guilty as though Kirin’s disappearance might be her fault, Asahi determines to try and find her missing girlfriend… by playing the Elevator Game herself.

Will your choices help find her?

The game is scheduled for a December 13th, 2022 release on Steam and itch.io. A demo is available on both pages.

The sequel to Sword of the Necromancer, Sword of the Necromancer: Revenant, by Grimorio of  Games, got a trailer giving fans a better idea of what to expect. We went from a top-down 2D Zelda style roguelike action RPG to a Bravely Default-esque graphics 3D action RPG. Quite the commendable leap I must say. Reminds me of the Evoland games.

As the trailer explained, Tama went on a quest to revive her deceased girlfriend Koko using the titular Sword of the Necromancer. She succeeded. Now a man in black hopes to wield the sword to fulfill his own ambitions.

• Use the Power of the Revenants – once ago great heroes, their spirits now wander the world. Defeat them in battle and unleash powerful summons.

• Play Solo or in Local Co-Op – play the whole game with an AI companion or lend a controller to a friend to play together in split-screen co-op.
• Leave the Dungeon – Travel the world and help its people, explore cities, towns and open fields. Delve into procedural dungeons filled with enemies, loot and challenges.
• Restore Euda to its Former Glory – Reconstruct a ravaged town, recruit people and get new functions and services like shops, a forge, cook…

Not 100% sure how the story will go, as in whether players experience two campaigns as Team Tama or Team Guy or they switch between teams until they cross paths at a certain point.

As we can see the jump to 3D has greatly benefited cultured people. Koko approves this upgrade.

SotN 2 is currently in development and scheduled for release on all platforms with Steam most likely getting first dibs.

Lastly we have an upcoming Christmas themed VN by a fan favorite developer around these parts Ebi-Hime. This one is special because the art is done by a dear friend of mine whose pen name is Aria. As we can see this will be one of the shrimp princess’ lighter themed games. Plus if all goes well it’ll be available for FREE sometime near Christmas Day 2022.

The title and exact date will be revealed when ready so stay tuned.

LIP! Lewd Idol Project Volume 2, by Toffer Team, at last has a release date. December 15th! Hopefully the project does well enough to reach its planned conclusion in the future.
