OG’s Fall 2022 Anime Picks

It’s that time again to announce the shows I’ll watch and most likely cover. As always the list is subject to change depending on my mood.

Picks based on these links:

MUST WATCH

Management of Novice Alchemist Cover

Management of Novice Alchemist: Looks like a fun show about cute and sexy girls doing alchemy stuff and going on cool quests. Basically the Atelier anime we should have got instead of the Escha and Logy anime. Okay I don’t know if that show was good or not but point is it should have been about one of the female centered entries.

Do It Yourself Cover

Do It Yourself!!: Show about cute girls crafting furniture and other things. Gives me Mug-Cup mo vibes. I’m sold.

Bocchi the Rock main girlsBocchi the Rock!: Always room for more band girls shows around these parts.

Kantai Collection ITSUKA ANO UMI DE CoverKanColle: Someday in That Sea: After years of waiting the second season of Kantai Collection is upon us. It doesn’t star Fubuki and most of her fleet and I don’t see Yuudachi (as alluded to art shipping her with the new boat) anywhere. Not only that but it’ll only be 8 episodes similar to the 2nd Black Rock Shooter anime. Still it’s more KanColle and more importantly for me one of, if not my favorite boats in the series Hamakaze is set to appear. Pumped to the max!

Akiba Maid War Cover

Akiba Maid War: Show about crazy maids working in crazy maid cafes competing against each other. Sold on the concept alone. Hope it delivers.

Yama no Susume 3rd SeasonYama no Susume: Next Summit. Also known as Yama no Susume 4. More climber girl goodness along with the hype of a sixth member joining the group.

CURIOSITIES

My Master Has no Tail CoverMy Master Has no Tail: Tanuki girl tries to become the apprentice of a hard to convince magical comedienne. Heard the tanuki develops a crush on the woman she aspires to learn under. We’ll see how it goes.

Gundam Witch from MercuryGundam: Witch From Mercury. I do believe this is the first ever entry in the Gundam franchise with a female protagonist. Could be wrong but as mentioned several times the only Gundam show I watched was Gundam Wing so I don’t know much about the franchise. Anyway the prologue can be seen down below so people can decide for themselves if it’s worth their time.

Other stuff I’ll watch on my own:

  • Pop Team Epic 2. First season was delightfully bonkers.
  • Spy X Family Part 2: I eventually caved in. Yor’s power was too strong.
  • Uzaki-chan 2. Fingers crossed Mama Uzaki will get more screen time.
  • The Little Lies We All Tell: One of the girls is a cross-dressing boy but even so my curiosity is piqued.

I was hoping “Yuri is My Job” and the fighting game girls anime both premiered in Fall but alas. Maybe this Winter.

    My picks right now are:
    Spy x Family
    Uzaki S2
    Do it Yourself
    Yama no Susume S4
    Novice Alchemist
    Maid Wars
    Bocchi the Rock!

Might drop or add more stuff along the way. We’ll see how it goes.

Also really want to get back into my Netflix and Prime Video watch list as well, so I’m not sure how much anime I’ll actually end up watching next season. As always, looking forward to your excellent weekly coverage!

Wasn’t there a LoveLive spin-off centered around Yoshiko in a fantasy world coming in the fall or was I misinformed?

A mighty fine list my friend.

Don’t know which I’ll watch since there is a lot I’ll be watching in October.

Though I might check out Akiba Maid War. That one looks very promising. (You and I are most excited for the beautiful dark skinned beauty, aren’t we?đŸ˜‰)

The fist Gundam I ever watched was G Gundam back in elementary school with my best friend. It had one of my first anime crushes, Allenby Beardsley. Ah good times.

I’ll definitely be watching Spy x Family Season 1 part 2! Love the entire Forger Family! Loid is awesome! Anya is adorable! And Yor is a goddess of sexiness!

Other then that I’ll be watching Chucky Season 2, continuing watching the dub of The Great Jahy, MHA season 6, watching the first “episode” of The Owl House season 3. (From what I read the other 2 will come out in 2023.)

But more than anything I will be watching Bleach Thousand Year Blood War! The Final Arc of my all time favorite anime! I’ve been rewatching the final trailer so many times! I am Beyond Excited! So Happy! đŸ˜‚

The manga of My master has no tail is shoujo ai, really cute and funny, so I expect the same of the anime.

I planning to watch Akiba Maid Sensou, BOCCHI THE ROCK!. Do It Yourself!!, Shinmai Renkinjutsushi no Tenpo Keiei. Thankfully the season isn’t as packed to the weekend compared to the summer. There is probably more, but covering more than 5 is difficult since the return to office, although I have two days working at home.

Hopefully the next season will be better blogging wise. This month has been very frustrating with the lack of comments and I feel less motivated to blog since nobody seems to care about the amount of effort I put into creating content and not too many leaving any comments. I hope the fall will be better, but my confidence is dropping unless trends start to reverse.

Yes, The Witch from Mercury is actually the first Gundam series with a female protagonist.

The prologue is promising, and I know the subject, I watched EVERY Gundam production, even the horrible Canadian live-action.

Damn the next season is already so close!
I guess I’ll look into the shows you mentioned here.
As a gundam fan, witch from mercury is, of course, already on my list. The hype is real, I’ve already bought the gunpla kits!

Not Atelier alchemy: I hope it’s barrels of fun.

DIY: If you want the job done right…

    Mountains: Let’s climb them.

    Anya x Becky: Adorbs.

Uzaki: Sassy gremlin. Too bad gloomlord is coming back.

Little lies: Depends on how they handle “crossdressing boy” May wait for feedback.

Lots of stuff I’m going to be watching come the Fall.

Right now, I’m only watching a few shows, namely: Delicious Party Precure (not yuri, some shippy vibes, like most past precure series), Love Live! Superstar!! 2nd Season (yuri, Mei and Shiki my heart), Shadows House (I ship the two mains, though I think nothing is going to happen), and I’m catching up on a show I dropped a while ago, Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu.

Come October, I’m interested in Chainsaw man, Spy X Family season 2, Urusei Yatsura, Mushikaburi-hime. They aren’t yuri or even yuri adjacent.

I’m also looking forward to Do It Yourself!! and Gundam. I’ve seen the key visuals for Do It Yourself!! and it looks like a lot of fun.
For Gundam, there is already shippy art of the MC and another girl in the cast. The key visual has them reaching their hands toward each other. I don’t care if it’s not yuri or what, I have my yuri goggles firmly on! And even if it isn’t, I loved the prologue. Plus, this Gundam can be watched fandom blind. So, that’s nice.

Next is, Bocchi the Rock! because music.

And, 4-nin wa Sorezore Uso wo Tsuku is about four girls who hold secrets. I could only find the first chapter of the manga translated into English, but it seems promising.

Oh, and probably that Maid anime.

I was not aware of that my master has no tail show seems like it could be interesting. Also wondering about that 4-nin show based on the premise it sounds like it could be good. A lot of promising shows this season but definitely looking forward to Yama no Susume the most.

As for non yuri shows theres that isekai sword show and I cannot wait for bleach. It was one of the few shows I always believed it would return. Just like Hidamari sketch Ill keep believing that new season will come.

So I heard. May check it out if there’s enough buzz around her but she’s not the main character so not enough reason to cover this one weekly.

      • Ruby says:

Yeah, she’s not the main character.
She’s a side character. I know this because I’m fully caught up on the manga. Also, this character doesn’t appear for quite a while in the manga, sooo…. I’ll stop there so I don’t say any spoilers, but Chainsaw Man is as far from a yuri manga/anime you can get.
That, and the main romances in Chainsaw Man are straight.

It’s going to be a good show, but I agree it’s not worth it to cover weekly if you’re looking forward to yuri romances.
