Dreamy Planet + Akai Ito/Aoi Shiro HD Remasters + Watamari

More vintage Ebi-Hime gloomy yuri and surprise HD Remasters of Yuri classics.

Update: Added Watamari Part 1 release date.

Dreamy Planet main girls

Haruka and Shiina used to be inseparable. They grew up together, went to school together, and ardently believed that they would always be best friends.

That was before Haruka’s breakdown, however.

Worn down by her demanding job as a nurse, Haruka abandons her old life, and her old best friend, and moves back in with her parents. Believing herself to be a failure, and too ashamed to see Shiina again, Haruka retreats into herself and her depression, and despairs.

It isn’t until almost five years later that Haruka and Shiina reunite. At Shiina’s behest, the pair of them make an impromptu trip to a favourite haunt of theirs from their youth: an outdated theme park on the outskirts of Nara called Dreamy Planet.

Dreamy Planet was once a popular park, but it has since fallen into disrepair. The park was closed down several years ago, owing to dwindling attendance numbers, and it has been left in a miserable state: the spinning teacups, the roller coasters, and the carousel all left to rust.

Together again, Haruka and Shiina pick their way through Dreamy Planet’s carcass, and as they do, they recall fond memories from their past. Dreamy Planet might be beyond salvaging, but perhaps their relationship can still be saved – if only Haruka can find the courage to finally tell Shiina how she really feels.

Note: When reading the game description there is a big asterisk. This being an Ebi story there is surely a reason for it. Also this being one of Team Ebi’s more risque work expect a free 18+ patch DLC on Steam.

The game is now available on Steam and itch.io

Akai Ito and Aoi ShiroDuring the 2022 Tokyo Game Show SUCCESS announced HD Remasters of two big yuri games (by big I mean expect A LOT of reading and branching paths), Akai Ito and its sequel Aoi Shiro. for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. The games are planned for 2023 release in Japan. The important part is English translations are planned. Hopefully this means they will be localized soon after the JP release.

Akai Ito Story

This summer, I lost my mother—the only family I had left… I took a long train ride to see my family home, which I inherited from my father…”

I had a strange dream—a red memory I was unable to recall. There was a kaleidoscope of shining blue butterflies flying about, and a familiar person with sad eyes.

My birthplace, Hemidzuka. It is there I will meet someone, and there I will part from someone.

Past and present, dream and reality, my memories and my blood… The threads of fate will intertwine and twist together to form a single picture…

The wheel of fate is about to turn.

Aoi Shiro Story

My grandmother, who passed away long ago, loved to travel. Strange landscapes. Unfamiliar people. She loved meeting new people…

She would say, those raised under a high ceiling will grow taller—and seeing the world makes a person bigger.

During the summer vacation of my second year in high school, I too went on a trip far away. It was a training camp for extracurricular activities, but it was by no mistake a trip.

By train and car, we headed to the southern sea. With our swords and gi packed, we headed to teh temple gate of the cape overlooking Oniga Island. It was there I met—.

The waxing and waning of the moon, the ebb and flow of the tides, the cycle of destiny that disturbs the surface of the water.

I will resist the storm brought about by the dragon who slumbers within the azure shrine.

But she’s no ordinary student, as she’s been sent there as an agent by the “Agency”, who are interested in the secrets hidden within the school. While her transferring in is quite extraordinary, everyone is more interested in the ritual that takes place before the opening ceremonies.

During this ritual, some students manifest signs of the zodiac, and then are given an angelic title and a blessing. These students are known as the Angels of the Zodiac, and are given the role of bringing fortune to the student body.
Hikari, who is trying to not stand out in order to root out the school’s secrets, is bestowed with the grace of Virgo during the ceremony and becomes known as “Exousia”.

This is of no consequence to Hikari who simply wishes to make friends with the student body as soon as possible to not stand out like a sore thumb. Things don’t go according to plan as she feels a burning sensation on her cheek and is suddenly bestowed with the grace of Virgo and becomes known as Exousia.

    Dreamy Planet being Ebi-Hime’s “gloomy yuri classics” makes me slightly wary of her traumatizing past titles like Dejection and Asphyxia. I love them… but still trying to recover from the depression afterwards ^_^;
