Luminous Witches Episode 8: Heart of a Fangirl

Milasha had some obstacles to overcome.

We joined our heroines at the Fuso Empire, Inori’s homeland. They’re checking out their fortunes. Milasha good great luck while Lady Aira got bad luck. Being her #1 fangirl Milasha eagerly asked to trade fortunes with her. Unfortunately it didn’t take long for the bad luck to kick in. During their flight show Milasha went a bit off course. If it weren’t for Ellie mimicking her movement it would’ve looked off. Frustrated her #1 raivaru had to fix her mistake she went to apologize to Lady Aira who said “Don’t worry. It wasn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed. Besides this wasn’t your first mistake.” That last part hit her hard.

Our heroines visited Inori’s family shrine where they were welcomed by grandma who was in a bit of a pickle. The girl who’s supposed to help clean the shrine couldn’t make it that day. Major Grace volunteered the Luminous Witches to help out while she had “important business” to attend to. Milasha took the chance to challenge Ellie. The latter had no idea what’s going on but went along with it. Her experience as a military nurse made cooking and cleaning easy while Milasha struggled.

Suddenly a surprise swimsuit segment! Thank you Luminous Witches.

Naturally Mana’s the sexiest.

Milasha decided if she couldn’t beat her at cleaning then surely in a race. It looked like she’d succeed but alas she slipped near the finish and fell into the ocean. Luckily she got a non-deadly jellyfish sting at worst.

Afterward we learned some cool stuff. First up was Milasha’s most treasured possession being a record though because it’s fragile it eventually broke. She still kept a piece of it for luck. There’s one song on the record that helped her overcome her depression from being  chased away from her homeland by the Neuroi. Meanwhile Ellie didn’t get why Milasha kept competing with her (Kinda thought she knew) but the reason she liked teasing her was because it was a way for her to be friendly with someone who shared the pain of losing their home to the Neuroi. Lastly the song that gave Milasha the energy to keep going was of course Lady Aira’s cool song. Inori got her to sing it for grandma and the gang after grandma’s surprised to learn her granddaughter composed songs for them. Upon recognizing the song Lady Aira joined in. She didn’t expect her song to touch anyone or change their life but hearing how it motivated Milasha helped her realize being a musical Witch was the right call. She praised Milasha too. This helped the youngling realize her goal was to become a great singer who equaled or possibly surpassed her idol. The typical dream in anime. Her biggest raivaru was still Ellie though. Our heroines realized they’re a group of girls away from home because of the Neuroi war.

We ended the episode with Moffy sensing something at night and Ginny following. It’s a weasel familiar and her Witch partner Tomomi Nishisugi, a fellow Night Witch from Fuso and fan of Ginny’s. Dunno if we’ll see her again.
