Because the storytelling on the show is simple this won’t be a long one.
Episode 4
After the success of RISE’s debut performance they received additional funds for their robot teammates and as a bonus a cute robo manager code named “Nono”. She’s pretty much the team mascot.
Out of all the one-shot enemy teams on the show Banshee’s the one I’d love to have seen more of than what we got.
The champs, May-Bee, hosted a special exhibition thing where they invited multiple groups to test their skills against them. RISE were the only ones who could barely keep up. It’s nice to see the champs being friendly raivaru senpai. Little to no hard feelings. They dominated as expected and our heroines were cool with it. They knew they had to get stronger to one day catch up. Simple.
RISE’s next challenge was against the aforementioned Banshee in a baseball game. Sumika called her little league friends to help the gang train. One thing was clear. It’s an 11 v 3 matchup. RISE needed a new member to even the playing field even by a bit. The kids mentioned a huge strong batter girl. This caught Hiyori’s attention. While practicing bunts the mystery huge girl appeared.
She wasn’t big and buff like Hiyori imagined but she’s certainly “huge”.
EPISODE 5
The big girl’s name was Yukino. She’s gentle and kind. Hiyori invited her to check out baseball practice. Yukino hesitated at first but accepted. She got roped into playing and Sumika sensed a strong equal in her. She also recalled hearing her name somewhere. Yukino had the physical attributes and during karaoke she revealed her vocal abilities too by singing an enka song.
Lovely mom sighted.
Sumika remembered Yukino used to play softball and was pretty good but one day left. She invited them to her family estate where it’s revealed her family were kendo pros, especially her late father and brother. Yup. Dead relatives trope struck again. Yukino enjoyed her time with RISE but felt she had to carry on the family legacy by devoting herself to training and inheriting the dojo. Sad times.
EPISODE 6
Short lived sad times as it didn’t take long for grandpa to be all like “Girl you’re 16. Enjoy yourself while you can. Plenty of time to inherit the dojo. There are many routes to becoming a master of the blade besides being a super serious person. Now go join your homies on the field of battle.”
One traffic jam later and she joined the team in time to save the day. This time they made sure to inform viewers “Yes. RISE have another teammate who may or may not appear”. That’s good.
Immediately after RISE’s victory speech and Yukino’s formal introduction on the team.we cut to the future fifth member watching Extreme Hearts and lamenting she couldn’t be part of it. To be precise she didn’t see herself worthy of competing alongside such skilled hotties and cuties. She recently started a Youtube channel posting videos of herself as her alter ego Lisetto. They’re videos showcasing her karate skills. One day while on an errand Saki coincidentally saw Lisetto film a video. Impressed by her skills she blew her cover. Lisetto, actual name Lise, recognized Saki and was elated. Seeing her karate skills and devoted following of Extreme Hearts she hoped to recruit Lise soon.
Good stuff as always from the chill yet still intense sports idol anime.Next time we’ll either get Part 1 or the episode about Lise joining RISE. Should be fun.
If I had a nickel for every kendo waifu turned baseball player, I would have two nickels, but it’s great that it happened twice.
Also, is anyone else picking up some shipping vibes between Sumika and Yukino or is just me?

Not a fan of that meme personally.
Never say that line because there usually are others who share your sentiment. Plus they showed potential. Hope they keep it up.

Not a whole lot more to add to what you’ve got down here already.
Solid 3 eps there. RISE is building their team and heading towards greatness. I’m looking forward to when Lise joins the team. They’ll finally be complete!
I like big sexy Yukino as well.

Yukino is a most welcome addition to the team and so will Lise for sure.

Thank you for posting this! Glad to see you haven’t given up on this show. Sumika and Yukino are my yuri pairing, especially with their post-practice date and Sumi asking Yuki to be her batterymate – a baseball term, but still… Haven’t seen much on the Hiyori x Saki front, but maybe that’ll change with Lise in the picture? Also wondering if Lise is RISE’s one voter from Ep 3 – if it isn’t, whoever it is could be completely out of left field (pun intended). Looking forward to your next great recap.

No I haven’t. Just got pretty busy recently.
Yes. I see potential in Sumika X Yukino. Hopefully Hiyori X Saki step up again with Lise’s introduction.
Lise may be that one vote, yes.

This show, I can’t explain but I like it so much.
Nono is one cute manager robo.
Shipping vibes between Yukino and Sumika! I love that Sumika is able to go all out with her baseball throws with Yukino catching them! It totally caught the Banshee team off guard.
With the last member joining soon Rise will be at full power!

It’s simple but a lot of fun. That’s why.
They show potential for sure.
Excited to see the complete team!

Why would you ship Sumika x Yukino when Hiyori x Sumika literally confessed to each other in the middle of the basketball game? Would make their confession pointless somehow.
Saki x Lise, Sumika x Hiyori – reason above – and Yukino goes solo because there is an uneven number of 5 humans – robots not included.

When Hiyori and Sumika show more couple vibes I’ll answer your question.

except for the falling on her ass part, Lisetto’s failed double spin jumping kick still looks amazing xD

They may have been crushing all comers during those practice matches but I noticed that May-Bee’s score margin was lowest against RISE. That’s RISE’s tenacity for ya. They even managed to complete the entire training session. I’ll give some props to that one team that almost made it to the futsal part of the course.
That was a nice speech by Yukino’s gramps. He gave her the push to go forth and help her pals. RISE also did well holding out until she arrived. As for Banshee, their usual tactics would’ve worked if Yukino hadn’t come to slash their plans into tiny pieces. Needless to say, she and Sumika have nice chemistry.
Saki stumbled upon quite the catch in Lise. Her karate skills are nothing to sneeze at and it can be very helpful with their futsal match. Now, to see if Saki can convince her to RISE to the occasion.
