Machikado Mazoku 2.10: Roach Power

Roaches and more training this episode.

Shamiko recyclingBest part of the first half. The second best had to do with “ruins”.

Shamiko helps Mikan cleanMikan had some trouble cleaning her room. As she’s about to get to it one of ladies’ greatest foes appeared. Shamiko’s used to them because she could relate with their struggles for merely existing similar to demons in hiding from mahou shoujo. Mikan wanted them destroyed but insisted on giving them cute nicknames and only showed mercy to not upset Shamiko.

Suddenly Shamiko noticed something. It felt like Mikan was carrying many burdens on her shoulder such as moving out of her comfy home into a run down apartment per Momo’s request. Then there’s the transfer to Shamiko and Momo’s school. She worried Mikan may be consumed by darkness like Momo but they’d been friends for a long time so she’s used to outrageous requests. She was worried about Momo’s unstable qi though. They’d known each other for 10 years and never had she seen Momo go through anything like that.

Shamiko denying her envyMikan noticed Shamiko envying her knowing Momo much longer than her and gave a cocky grin.

Shamiko practices fortifying barriersMikan stressing over the aforementioned enemy of women affected Momo too who felt the wrath of her misfortune. Having said that the real reason she came to check was because Shamiko didn’t cook her morning rice. The pink one loves the succubus very very much. Momo couldn’t do anything against the enemy either due to a traumatic experience last season. Instead she drew anti-bug barriers and had Shamiko enhance them. Our heroine rightfully questioned why only she had to do it and Momo said it’s magic training.

Shamiko family appreciating the simple thingsPart two began with a lovely dance by hot mama as the family again cherished the simple things most people took for granted.

Shamiko smells Momo's sheetOnce again Momo criticized Shamiko using the Whatchamacallit Rod for trivial reasons like a laundry pole but briefly lost her cool seeing her beloved enjoying her peach scented sheet. She put it to “better use” only to once again fluster Momo. Poor lovesick monotone cutie. Momo gathered Shamiko, Ryoko and Lilith to discuss why the W Rod mainly turned into “stick shaped” objects. She had her try to turn it into specific sticks like a 30 KM pole but Shamiko’s lack of knowledge, creative thinking and magic power weren’t enough to make it happen. They recalled her being stronger in the dreamscape so Lilith suggested entering her mind but knowing her Ancestor was a schemer she stuck with her own. Ryoko got to come along but Momo’s left out because as we’re reminded only relatives could enter a demon’s dreamscape without issue.

Lilith's Sandbags of LonelinessLilith’s Sandbags of Loneliness.

Lilith had Shamiko practice her powers on thousands of sandbags manifested from her hardly getting screen time in several episodes.

Shamiko's gamer magicShe had a hard time at first swinging wildly taking out one sandbag at a time. Ryo suggested turning the W Rod into something stronger but again our heroine’s creativity was limited. HOWEVER, there was hope. Her love of Super Famicom JRPGs! Eureka!

We ended the episode with Ryo wanting to take a photo of Lilith, it being the first time she saw her sis’ “color/palette swap” but despite our favorite ancestor’s clever plan the picture didn’t turn out well.

Great stuff as always. Two episodes left and still no swimsuit segment. I am worried.

Mikan having bugs in her apartment, well I can see why with all the trash in her apartment. Still a good way to train Shamiko’s magic skills. Also, funny to see her bragging of not having to do homework backfire.

I find it funny how Shamiko transformed her rod into an idol fan bringing the return of Fallen Peach. It’s even funnier that Momo’s voice actress also voices Kanata and Sayu, both idols. Still, it’s fun to see Shamiko play her own game of Musou/Dynasty Warrior game.

    Another Fantastic Episode!

Been awhile since we’ve seen the “Happy Mama Dance.” Cute as always.

Man, I love jealous and flustered Shamiko. Adorable.

Mikan saying “Oh No” after all the homework she got had me laughing! Just loved how she said it.

And that “ruins” bit was also hilarious!

Momo not getting her morning rice made from Shamiko, and getting flustered from Shamiko sniffing her sheet and showing her personal Momo Idol Fan, warmed my heart! Bless these 2 lovable dorks!😊

Loved how that photo turned out!

    Can’t wait for next week!

I don’t think Shamiko got jealous or flustered as often as Momo. Makes sense because Momo knows she loves Shamiko but the other not yet.

Shamiko’s reaction, as always, is what sold the “ruins” joke.

I would say couple goals but they’re not dating yet.

I’d pay good money for those anti roach magic charms, just saying.
Shamiko using her gaming knowledge to turn the rod into magic weapons was amusing.

Shamiko can sympathize with cockroaches all she wants. She can even have whatever sympathy I may have because I can’t help but go into Destroyer mode if I ever see them. With that said, those anti-bug seals are very useful.

Mikan was lucky that she didn’t have any summer homework…until she did. That was quite unlucky for her. In fact, being a magical girl was suffering this episode.

That was a nice training session for Shamiko She was actually able to turn the W Rod into an effective weapon thanks to Ryoko’s advice.

Speaking of, Lilith may have been out of focus for a few episodes but getting to meet and praise Ryoko should make up for that, I think. That was so nice.
