Yuki Yuna is a Hero 3.9: Duel of Yuusha

Since we’re back with the Sentinels so do my Star Wars references.

Enraged Karin

There’s a good reason we’re staring with Karin. After a scene of the Taisha once again keeping the Sentinels in the dark about the purpose of their missions we joined Karin after learning about Yuna’s curse, feeling powerless to do anything for her. Suddenly confusion turned into rage as she crossed the barrier to challenge the gods. When none answered she sulked for a while until spotting some flying ships in the distance. It was the Sentinels doing their routine surveillance. She recognized Mebuki and went to check on them.

Karin sulkingAs Mebuki approached her she saw a shell of the great Karin. As they spoke she’s surprised to learn Karin hadn’t heard of the Sentinels until she mentioned them…but it was Karin’s meekness and uncertainty as a Hero that really irked her.

Karin vs MebukiWhat followed was a classic “Let our fists (in this case blades) do the talking” battle where two people who cared about each other figured the best way to convey how they felt was through combat, more so Mebuki. Make no mistake, the battle was great as expected of this show. To sum it up:

Mebuki: This is not the great Karin who was chosen to become a Hero over me. Quit your moping and act like one!

Karin: You have no idea all the pain and suffering we’ve been through up till now! Yuna’s still suffering as we speak and there’s nothing I can do to help her!

Mebuki: You’re right. I don’t know what’s going on. What I do know is you feeling sorry for yourself isn’t going to help your friend so quit acting like a whiny bitch and think about how you can support her!

Karin and Mebuki settled their disputeAs a bonus when Karin got her groove back she revealed to Mebuki why their memories about the miko sacrifices were altered. Order was restored.

Sentinels ready to follow their leader into battle once moreAfter a scene of Karin (and Togo) panicking over the shocking truth about Yuna’s “wedding” we joined the Sentinels who were still unsure about their next/final mission. Mebuki’s motivational speech can be summed up as “Screw the Taisha for keeping us in the dark! We’re a family and I love every single one of you cuties. We’re going out there to kick ass and etch our names in the history books!”

Thus began the Hero Club’s battle against Lord Yusha to save Yuna and the Sentinels’ last stand against the Vertex Armada. Pumped to see what how the Sentinels fared since we already know how the Heroes vs Lord Yusha went.

Yumiko freezingBesides Mebuki the other star of the episode was Yumiko.

Ah yes my favorite way of settling things, with fighting!
Mainly because we get a cool fight scene like in this ep. Really nice both Karin and Mebuki were able to air their feelings.

That fight was pretty good and it was the best way for Mebuki and Karin to really get their feelings across, doubly so since this was their first meeting since Karin was selected as the next Hero. After all was said and done, they can actually be friends now. It’ll be a blast seeing the Hero Club and the (main) Sentinels together!

That priestess may not be able to tell them anything but she has her way of supporting Mebu and the Heroes.

Now, to see the final battle from the Sentinels side

After hearing about Yuna’s “wedding”, Tougou.exe has crashed and it’ll take a while for her to reboot. 😉

      Good fight/talk.

Looking forward to the two teams eventually coming together.

Should be another epic battle for survival.

Seeing Togo stressing over Yuna’s wedding again was gold.
