Blue Reflection Ray Episode 11: The Third Day

The countdown had reached its climax. It’s time to settle things with the Red Ring Gang once and for all.

As interesting as the Red Ring Gang members are Uta’s still my favorite for obvious reasons.

Before we get to our heroines entering the enemy base Miyako had her own interesting meeting. The lovely girl who spied on her wasn’t one of the RRG’s spies as I first thought. She’s actually associated with the AASA (and appeared in the game), Yuri Saiki. She explained to her what the Common was and gave her an idea of what the RRG’s goal was. I thought the Common were the enemies in the game but it’s actually the dimension where all human feelings, specifically that of teenage girls, were located. Entering it would be like accessing the thoughts and feelings of every single human in existence.

Hopefully we’ll get more gaps filled between the anime and game in the upcoming 2nd half of the show.

To summarize the RRG’s master plan they wanted to gain entry to the Common as part of their plan to create a world filled with happiness with them ensuring it’d stay that way. How? By erasing all negative emotions.

Basically they you want to, you guessed it, take over the world.

No matter how much they sugarcoat it sympathetic antagonists with plans that could affect the world either want to conquer it or destroy it.

As part of their plan to bring Hiori to them Shino tricked Ruka and knocked her out, using her as bait. The gang ordered Hiori and Momo to hand over their rings. Ruka told Hiori to stop but she loved her just as much as Mio. Fortunately, contrary to expectations, Hiori’s resolve to stop the gang was far too strong and the ring resisted Shino’s corruption.

Hiori’s courage gave not only Ruka (who finally called her Hiori instead of Miss Hirahara) and Momo strength but made Mio flinch too. Shino had to brainwash her again. Momo couldn’t take it anymore and rushed over to face her, reminding her of her promise to whoop dat ass should she cause trouble again. She had the power to take down Mio but that of course wasn’t her intent. She let her guard down for a second and got knocked out.

As Mio was about to take Hiori’s fragment she tried reasoning with her onee-chan one more time to no avail.

Momo tried to stop her hand but as this pic hints Mio grabbed a fragment…just not Hiori’s but that of her one true love. To make matters worse she somehow broke it.

Shino’s like “There’s always a Plan B”. Either that or Mio’s fragment was “the one” all along.

How will Hiori and Ruka get themselves out of this pickle? Is Momo done for? Hopefully not but we’ll find out next time.

I fully believe Momo was the plan from the start. Shino’s too smart to let Momo know that, and she had been preparing Momo all this time. I never thought her plan was Hiori, because she had no control over Hiori. Shino is the type to carefully work towards a goal, and putting it all on a variable you’ve done little to nothing with would be extremely reckless.

Nice seeing the genius programmer make her debut! Here’s to hoping that we can at least get a certain reporter, but my deepest hopes are for the death march…

    • With how different the art style was, and the fact that her outfit is completely different (I mean literally the one character wearing a black uniform), I couldn’t even tell it was Yuri. I thought it was like a fake Ruka or something. But she is one of my favorite characters, and I’m curious to see how far they bring the cameos from the game.

Definitely a big plot twist and not too surprising to see the red team to spectacularly fail at their plan. Still, what is surprising is that Mio actually tries to take her little sister’s fragment. Still, I don’t know if Shino actually intended on having Mio take Momo’s fragment instead of Hiori’s. But I guess Mio realizes that time is going to probably reset again and make the sacrifice.

Still, I wonder if Shino manage to succeed with her plan or Ruka and Hiori will foil it before a possible another reset or whatever happens next.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. That and her mind was kinda messed up by the brainwashing.

Shino will use Mio’s body for the sacrifice from the looks of it.

      We shall see next time.

“The thing that our sister (Mio) wanted most is the Fragment of her beloved (Momo)”. No doubt of being past subtext now. What a great episode.

I’d have preferred to see Mio’s hand on Momo’s chest rather than in her chest 😀
