Yakunare Mug-Cup mo Episode 7: Finding the Right Spark

Did Himeno finally find the inspiration she’s looking for?

Touko calms down MikaTouko may care for Mika but that doesn’t mean she won’t stop her when she goes overboard genki.

Mika's interpretation of Himeno's sculptureHimeno still couldn’t find her inspiration and somewhat envied how easily it came for Touko and Mika. While remembering mom’s incredible sculpture from last episode Mika brought her back to reality by wrongfully guessing what she made. She gave her the idea of thinking about what made her happiest and go from there. Himeno drew some examples but her drawings were, shall we say, avant garde.

Touko misinterprets Himeno's drawingEven Touko had difficulty deciphering what she drew. At least she gave her an idea. That being her drawings were family oriented, meaning to try and think of something that would bring joy to her family. Something like that.

Himena presenting a ceramic bat

Himeno got some energy but slipped again. Later at home she’s in a slump. Dad noticed and showed her a ceramic bat mom made for him. She enjoyed watching him train on his swings and made the lucky bat. Unfortunately a ceramic bat would break easily but dad appreciated the thoughts and feelings that went into making it. Like the broken pot he treasured the bat. His advice was to keep at it and she’d eventually find inspiration. Himeno was like “That’s what I’ve been doing all this time. Still, thanks for listening dad. It really helped.”

Himeno playing with Mika's figure

Himeno's ideaThe next day Himeno felt bad over her hard melted sculptures. At least they made cute coasters for cups and even Mika’s figures. That’s when she remembered the hot pillow when she talked with dad. Himeno’s idea was a ceramic cushion, not to sleep but to sit on. Naoko thought she’d make tank wheels for dad.

Solid stuff. Next time is an episode I didn’t think the show would cover but am very glad it well. I know a dear friend who will also be elated.

I have to admit that I can’t get enough of Mika. She is easily one of the most enjoyable characters thus far as I can’t get enough of her positive energy. Still, it’s good that Touko didn’t have an outburst. Still, it’s good that Himeno finally settled on the idea that is unpractical, but something that her mother might make. It will be interesting to see how it turns out in the end.

It sucks when you’re stumped but like a flash of lighting inspiration suddenly comes from unexpected places.
Good on Himeno for finally being able to decide on a concept!

Nothing to quiet down an overexcited genki like touching her erogenous parts to remind her whose girl she is ^^

Himeno needs to work on her drawing skills as well. Was laughing so much as they girls tried to figure out what she drew.

Touko is so beautiful. So hyped for next week now.

Great to see Himeno finally get that spark of inspiration. Although a ceramic pillow does sound a little strange and uncomfortable to sit on. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out!

First time in a while during the live action part where they weren’t eating food. Although they had a lot of food references and jokes, which were hilarious. Next week we get to see the ladies in yukatas! They looked so pretty!

Reiko’s only showing her shoulder blades and she already looks sexy. Imagine what she has in store next episode.

Let’s wish Himeno the best of luck with her pillow.
