Another anime about cute girls cycling and/or riding motorbikes/cycles. Hopefully more Long Riders, Minami High School Cycling Club or Bakuon! and less Two Car. That is all I ask from these shows.
We began the episode with a soothing piano in the background but soon as our cute but unfortunate hoeroine Koguma awoke, silence. What followed was a mundane morning routine. Once she got on her bike there was a brief smile that changed to suffering as she reached the incline on her way to school. As she explained she was a “girl with nothing”. No parents, friends, dreams or goals. She simply…existed. Once school was out she spotted a motorcycle. As she got on her bike and prepared for the dreaded incline she saw the motorbike make quick work of it and she thought “Gotta get me a motorcycle”. At the bike store we got the classic “DANG! THESE ARE EXPENSIVE” reaction. The store owner spotted her and brought out a used Honda Super Cub.
As soon as I saw how gray, dreary and quiet the introduction was once Koguma woke up I knew sooner or later she’d have a moment she felt a small burst of color and life. When the owner told her the shockingly cheap price he explained that three people died riding it. It didn’t matter to her. She was entranced by the Super Cub.
After getting her license and the owner added the finishing touches to the Super Cub it was the moment she’d been waiting for. As she enjoyed a chill ride she thought about speeding up but a truck passing by at high speed changed her mind.
Koguma loved her Super Cub so much she couldn’t sleep at night, wanting to ride it despite the scare earlier. Plus the roads were quieter in the countryside at night.
When she drove to the convenience store however, she suddenly couldn’t start up the bike again. Stuck with no idea what to do she remembered something when a customer dropped his key. The instruction manual in the back compartment. The cub ran out of gas. Luckily there was enough reserve fuel to get to the gas station. Thus Koguma had found something to care about in life as the colors slowly enter her heart.
Good premiere. Next time Koguma will make her first friend, Reiko.
I wonder who pays all this for her when she has no money.

The most probable: she benefits of her municipality public assistance program.

It’s a good start. It’s cute to see her smile at the bike she just bought. Still, I wonder what friends she will make soon. Still, this show kind of gives me the feeling of Yuru Camp.

Chill vibes are always a good sign as we saw in Mug Cup mo.

“I’m selling this to you dirt cheap, also 3 people died in it” sounds like the premise of a horror story lmao
Good thing this is SOL and not Horror!
Koguma has a slow routine life until she got her motor bike. I like how the animation turned vibrant when she got the motor going for the first time, I actually had to go back and rewatch that bit.
And she ran out of gas. I guess since she’s used to a bicycle it didn’t cross mind, good thing the manual was there.

Indeed.
Yeah. Should be a fun SOL.
Slowly getting color in her life. Very well presented.
Precisely.

Oo, I like this one. The art style is really pretty, the music and mood are nice, and the girl is so lovely. I love how the world becomes colourful when she enjoys herself. I wish nothing but happiness for her.
I laughed when her name came up. After you read “Hino-san no Baka”, the name Koguma will always remind you of it ^^ I hope we will learn her first name too. Can’t wait to see what kind of friend she will make next time!

the “art”
Confess yourself, you’re fond off her haircut (you’re betrayed by your patreon)

You know me so well… I can’t resist a cute dark-haired girl with a bobcut… or any girl with a bobcut, maybe ^^

A very nice touch, that was. An example of a lot being said with little to no speech.
Based on Ioni’s comment I assume that means Koguma’s your type. She has a bobcut so I can relate.

Very chill and calm first ep, I enjoyed it a lot.
Not a ton of dialogue in this opening ep, but the music, animation, and body language of Koguma said a lot. Also I really liked how the colors when from dull and muted to bright and vibrant when she first sat on the Super Cub. I hope that’s something they continue throughout the show.
All around good first ep. I need more chill shows in my life and this looks to be exactly that.

Oh, the important difference with other series that this seen more
realistic
since is not colorful and the girl act more prudentLikeLike
Can’t blame her as she felt she had nothing and merely existed before getting the Super Cub.

This was decent.
I have seen it done before but they way they did the whole “now my world has colours” thing was SO corny. It made me laugh out loud.
I’m glad they mentioned running out of gas on the first episode unlike Yuru Camp where they managed to avoid even mention it for two whole seasons (seriously how much gas can RIn’s bike hold to do those super long trips?)
I’m curious to see what the other character are like but this will probably go in the “if I have time” pile like the mug show.

I wonder why cars don’t have this neat reserve fuel feature… and it’s a lot harder to push than moped when you run out of fuel 🙂
