That was interesting.
We joined Sorawo eating in the college cafeteria when she was approached by a freshman named Akari Seto who somehow heard she had a sixth sense. Hence she asked her assistance in regards to ninja cats.
Kozakura’s rac-, tanuki.
Toriko and Kozakura thought this Akari woman was pulling Sorawo’s leg but took it a bit more seriously when she mentioned an urban legend about ninja cats. That along with Kozakura understanding there are many different kinds of fears. Also Kozakura got a visit from Otherside granny tanukis, hence her new friend…a raccoon. Lastly our heroines ordered an expensive looking vehicle while drunk and had it mailed to her house.
Sorawo was worried about going on this mission because she loved cats and didn’t want to fight the ninjas because of it. Toriko assured her it’d be fine. Besides, the Otherside was already calling so they had no choice.
When Sorawo told Akari about someone else joining them she asked if she was her friend. Sorawo had difficulty defining their relationship. Her reaction to Toriko’s introduction said it all.
They remind me of the Samurai Pizza Cats.
I won’t go over the battle but the “Otherside Hunters and Karate Akari” vs Ninja Cats is one of the best fight scenes on the show by far. I am not kidding.
Creepiest part of the episode.
Sorawo hoped the Ninja Cats’ true forms were monstrous but alas they’re just lanky super cats. This hit her hard. Cat lovers can definitely relate. She saw them rummaging Akari’s bag and she asked her if she’d something the cats wanted. She said no but Sorawo took a closer look, finding something inside her belly.
Noice.
Once found Sorawo had an important contemplation before throwing the item far away for the cats to go after it. How they got back to their world was amusing. The episode ended with an expected bombshell as soon as Akari brought it up.
Let’s go over why Akari came to Sorawo for help. One day she started getting stalked by cats. She ignored it for a while but eventually it got worse and the Ninja Cats appeared. The item in question was a cat charm handed to her by her tutor. Who was the tutor? Satsuki of course.
Good stuff as always.
PS: Toriko was like “Guess Akari’s another partner in crime now” and Sorawo was like “DON’T SAY THAT! It’s, umm, uhhh…yeah”. Toriko’s Sorawo’s only partner in crime and she wants to keep it that way. Akari’s their “victim” should she join them again.
Nah, she saw their true form. They were just ninja cats. It was important to pay attention to how they were not in the “Otherside” this episode, but in an “inbetween”. Because things from there are different (like the space time man). Though I don’t know any more than that, as this is very close to the limit of my LN knowledge (and that info was given through the anime anyway)
There’s only one partner in crime for Sorawo, indeed!
I guess they skipped a chapter solely so this ep could come out on cat day. A worthy sacrifice! Cats are the best ❤ Even terrifying gonna kill you cats, they’re still so cute~
Akari has some crazy “just some karate” skills XD
Kozakura continues being best legal loli ❤
Next up may be getting back to what was skipped, but I have no idea where they’ll go with it! Either way, should be another fantastic experience~
Also, Toriko threw an adorable “nya” in there. Too bad subs didn’t reflect that.

Guess I didn’t word it right.
As always whenever there’s a cat episode you’re the first person in mind that makes me go “He probably went ape for it”. Yet again you proved me right.
Sorawo defending her spot as Toriko’s one and only though it looks like Toriko has strong feelings for her too, just need to make it clearer.

Yes, I agree with Sorawo that cats are too cute that I can’t really hurt them. Still, I agree that the idea of ninja cats pretty crazy and funny.
But still, it’s obvious that Toriko has a thing for Sorawo with the partners in crime. Surprised that Sorawo didn’t realize this already. 🤔

Urban legends get weirder by the day I tell you.
Because it has to be spelled out or made clearer than that for her. I know how she feels though.

They’re really setting up Toriko’s ex as the final boss… love how this show combines humour and horror, Sorawo’s dry personality is perfect for that. But can’t wait for some angst, Toriko needing to defend Sorawo from Satsuke, all will she won’t she, who’s she gonna choose.
10/10 Episode Title

Ninja Cats being their greatest foes yet makes me chuckle.
Most likely will be, like Dark Mimi.

Back to watching this show at night to scare myself again. It’s just not a daytime show.
Sorawo going back and forth about whether or not to harm the cats was funny, can’t kill the cute cats, but also can’t let Toriko get hurt.
Speaking of Toriko, yes I totally noticed how possessive Sorawo got when Toriko mentioned Akari could be another partner in crime. There isn’t room for another girl in this relationship.
Yes the creepy part with Akari at the end was very creepy. Watching in a dark room upped that as well.
Excited to see where things go next!
