It had to happen eventually.
A big tournament, Futuring Diva, was on the way and our heroines anxiously watched in hopes they’d qualify. The three teams they beat all made it in. Fortunately they were the last announced team.
The tournament winners would perform Diva Time. Basically the “Let’s remind viewers this is an idol anime” singing scene. So far we only saw the groups sing in EDs. Hirana’s super pumped to be on stage like her heroines Eternal Girl but Akino refused.
Hirana was determined to go on stage but even Rei said no. After school Akino was surprised to find Rei dancing. She’s like “I did refuse before but if it means getting extra Selector Points and it’s not something I’m against then I’ll give it a go. You don’t have to if you don’t want to though Akino.” Akino felt ashamed she’s running away when she told Hirana she wouldn’t. She wanted to support her as much as she could but Diva Time was a struggle.
She remembered a past trauma and shed tears trying to hold them back.
The next day the tournament was on. Our heroines agreed to discuss Diva Time later and focus on winning. They did very well at first. The leaders of the four teams we’ve seen so far were all interviewed in a halftime show of sorts. When asked what she hoped to achieve Hirana, unprepared, said to “win it all” basically. The other leaders all wanted to beat No Limit. The last one to answer the question was the bully team leader who as we’ve seen from them their main strategy is to rile up their opponents with insults. This time she was like “No Limit won’t do Diva Time because they can’t sing or dance”. Hirana took the bait and was like “SURE WE DO! We got loads of songs prepared!”
Rei rightfully called out Hirana for her blunder as Akino was a mess. Conveniently it started raining as she explained why she didn’t want to do Diva Time. She used to be an aspiring ballerina but during a performance she slipped and messed up the show. Because adults are usually dip shits they laughed at her while her teammates cried. Since that day Akino never wanted to sing or dance on stage again. Hirana was obviously shocked by this revelation but couldn’t talk to Akino because she didn’t know what to say.
In their rematch with Universe’s Beginning Hirana and Akino weren’t in the zone at all. Rei tried her best but her teammates couldn’t keep their focus leading to No Limit’s first defeat. Akino blamed herself for the loss.
So yeah. Most of us knew their winning streak would eventually be broken. At least it wasn’t the “cocky/overconfident” cliche. Hurt me personally because Akino’s my favorite character. Not because of her hot’ bod (that’s a bonus) but because she’s not the most confident yet wants to do her best to help the team with her WIXOSS knowledge. Plus she’s adorable.
ok, bringing drama to the battlefield would result in confusion and defeat. But even with Hirana and Akino not thinking straght.. Tamago still took a beating before her team won.. so it means in normal situation, there’s a chance they would have lost again. lol
well, Uchuu no Hajimari probably need the win. I saw some preconstructed decks for sale at CDJapan, while browsing there yesterday.. there’s precon for No Limit, Uchuu no Hajimari, Card Jockey.. and some other teams. Would be hard to sell product of a team that always lose in the anime.
hopefully, No Limit recovers mentally by next week. So they don’t take more losses.

Their luck had to run out at some point and this was the week it happened. Tough times but hopefully the take away from all this will make them stronger and they’ll come back ready to battle and win next time.
Hirana needs to tone it down a bit as well, she’s getting way too amped up and letting others get to her easily. I mean a lot of thing could’ve been avoided if she just calmed down a bit and thought before speaking. But that’s just her personality I guess.
As always I’m still waiting for the dark turn. It’s gonna happen…
Excited to see how No Limit recovers and gets back into it next week.

i thought this is a online game and everyone inside is just digital avatar? well Akino acts like she’s actually going to sing and dance onstage in front of a real crowd 😀

Everyone in the audience are Selectors, meaning they’re all real too so it’s like singing in front of a live virtual crowd.
