Uma Musume – Pretty Derby 2.3: McQueen’s Turn

Good to see the show didn’t hang on too long to the drama from last episode.

Teio Speed Force

After Teio hit a low point last time it’s nice to see her nearly at 100% ready to race again. It seemed her new goal was to remain undefeated.

McQueen Came in 2ndMejiro Backbreaker

Even McQueen had a small tumble last year.

Special Week ready to chow downTokai Teio, Nice Nature and Twin Turbo

It was the new year and our lovable horsies were ready to begin anew.

Symboli Rudolph proudly watching

During practice it looked like Teio was motivated to show off her improved power to Rudolph.

McQueen hitting the nail

Even while accepting “Best Horsies of the Year” awards our new leads couldn’t stop throwing shade at each other. They’re no Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet but their rivalry is amusing thus far.

Big Race coming up

Things escalated when Teio got McQueen to enter the Spring Tennoushou race with her. Would Teio’s undefeated streak be broken or would McQueen again fail to come in 1st?

The haircut saga

I wonder if the Haircut Saga duo will end up dating? Would be an amusing conclusion.

Teio and McQueen walk together

Will this season prove I wasted my time last season? Unlike some people I know I dislike having my time wasted. Having said that, unlike the coffee bunnies I won’t be as miffed. A bit sad but not miffed. The point of this scene was to show Teio and McQueen were destined raivarus since they joined the academy.

Diamond keeping Black under control

The fangirl ponies being adorable again.

Enemy horses boxing McQueen

Before we got to the Spring Tennoushou race our heroines each had to win an important race. This episode was McQueen’s time to shine. Before the race even began her opponents’ gameplan was to gang up on her.

Diamond overjoyedMcQueen dominates the race

But as Teio sensed when she went to get a closer look McQueen was more than ready to win, and she did in grand fashion leaving background horsies “Muri’d”.

Teio ready for her return race

Good stuff. Next time it’s Teio big return race.

Haircut Saga duo have been entertaining.

Adorable little fangirl ponies are adorable.

The way that Twin Turbo and her team “declare war” with Team Spica was pretty funny and cute.

    Loving Teio’s new running outfit.

Haircut victim girl would never have returned for more, unless she wanted to see the hairdresser girl… just saying ^^

Everyone is so cute. The only thing missing is Gold Ship flirt-teasing McQueen. And Special’s sweetheart.

I like the silliness of Nice Nature’s team. I also really like the implication of how strong McQueen is, lifting a man as easily as that. Cute feminine girls who are also incredibly fit are so sexy.

In all seriousness it’d be cool if their story did end with them hooking up.

I NEED GOLD MCQUEEN GOODNESS DAMN IT!

Suzuka better not take till the season finale to come back.

They have the strength of horses so it’s not that surprising McQueen easily lifted Trainer Guy. Still you know me. Respect wrestling moves.

I find it hilarious how Gold Ship pulls the worst luck. I hope she can turn it around and perhaps get closer to McQueen, somehow.

Still, it’s interesting to learn about Teio’s and McQueen’s rivalry. Yep, it’s going to shape up to become an interesting race. Also, I find it funny how Twin Turbo misspelt “Down” in her letter. I guess it’s not too surprising given that she came almost dead last in a race.
