When we last left our heroines they were all preparing for the New Year. Let’s see what they all did in the lead up to January 1st.
As we recall Rin went solo camping again at a seaside location. She visited the local tea store to pick up supplies for mom and met a familiar face from second half of the first season.
Rad.
One of the things she looked forward to most on her trip was meeting the shrine dog “Shuppeitarou The 3rd” but sadly he was no longer of this Earth. Rin and Ena had a brief but profound discussion on the life of a dog.
At least she got a souvenir though there a mystery guest appeared just as she departed. Oh well. Rin later found a good spot to camp as she waited for the New Year’s sunrise.
Rin thinking about her future wife as usual.
Moving on to Aki she finally got a chance to chill so of course she spent it with Aoi and to her surprise they had another guest join them with a little surprise of her own for Aki. Oh and Miss Minami would be their driver.
You could tell Akari was ready for the new year.
Nadeshiko spent most of New Year’s Eve delivering letters. She kept in touch with everyone the same way they did, texts.
As for the long hyped sunrise I’ll leave that for readers to see themselves.
After the beautiful sight Aki mentioned another sunrise over at Mt Fuji. They only had a few minutes to see it at the tip of the mountain so they could enjoy the cool sight of “Diamond Fuji”. Miss Minami showed she’s a pro drifter in an excellent scene.
Had a feeling the payoff would be comedic.
I talked about most of the girls but there’s one more. What about Ena?
I can relate.
Rin got a call from her mom saying the roads back home were frozen, making it too dangerous to ride back on her moped, meaning Rin would spend two more days camping as she waited for grandpa to come pick her up.
Good stuff.
Toba-sensei pops up at the shrine gift shop and says “They’re giving out Amazake!” which is basically the near-beer version of sake. The “our teacher is an alcoholic!” joke remains unfunny. Fortunately that’s about the only thing there is to dislike about the show!

Agreed, I never liked alcoholics (thanks to my country)… especially in such an otherwise cute show. It just breaks the atmosphere.
But like you said, other than that the show is perfect ^^

I just saw Initial-K, it’s like the classic Initial-D but with a Kei-car.
Also, apparently Rin decide to do some sports, she ran more in this episode than in the entire first season.

May watch Initial-D one day.
She got a delivery job so she had to.

I liked how Rin do the “It’s the Ocean” thing. Sadly, no swimsuits, but I guess this is literally close we will get to a beach episode.
Yes, Aoi’s Little sister and Aoi are a like. I find it funny how Aoi’s little sister puts a snowball on Aki’s back. Also, the drifting scene is great, just needs more Eurobeat.

There was the island bonus OVA so we already got a beach episode of sorts.
She’d make a great DLC character in Inertial Drift or a mountain drift racing game.

Oh Rin, if you eat all that food you’ll get a cute pot belly. Which Nadeshiko will adore. Desu.

Rin: What could leave paw prints in solid stone?
Narrator: We are defenders of the night. We are dogoyles.
Rin: Umi da!
Me: gay thoughts about a different Umi What was that?
