Dropout Idol Fruit Tart Episode 10: Second Show

Thought we’d be following Cream Anmitsu but nope. Only one of them, the only one who mattered, joined us this episode as Fruit Tart prepared for their second ever live show.

Roko's fans

We began with a look at each Fruit Tart members’ fanbase:

  • Ino’s loved by everyone
  • Hemo’s an inspiration to youngsters
  • Hayu’s a cool older sister and adorable granddaughter
  • Nina’s got gunns
  • Roko’s a plushie women want to take home

Sell 1000 copies in one day

After another Ino peepee joke Miss Hoho slumped into the bathroom with everyone and sulked over how hopeless things seemed. See, they had to sell 1000 copies of their debut CD…TODAY! They had a good start selling half during the early hardcore fan rush hour but merch sales tend to slow down afterward.

Idea to boost sales

The girls wondered what would be a great way to boost sales again as they gazed at Nina.

Hemo explains Call and Response to Ino

Now this is a “call and response” I can get behind. Hayu not so much.

Chiko trying to bribe Roko

Remember, two of Chiko’s favorite things are Fruit Tart as a whole and of course Roko so her wanting to br-, help them get fans engaged makes sense.

President in disguise

The president looks more like a kid in disguise than Roko daily.

Hayu aroused and weirded out

Hayu’s both aroused and weirded out. So our heroines were on stage but had trouble engaging with the crowd. Ino did her best by being honest. She considered stripping but got back on track and thanks to Chiko’s help the crowd got behind Fruit Tart. As for the B-Side song we heard about last time…

President confused

The crowd tried getting into it at first but the lyrics made no sense. The president thought it was a brainwashing spell but thanks to Teno she saw the crowd dancing to the rhythm and having fun with Fruit Tart. That was good enough for her to secretly help our heroines sell enough copies to avoid foreclosure. Still don’t know what her master plan is but I remain intrigued.

Hoho's plan B

After the ED, as promised Miss Hoho treated Fruit Tart to a big meal but as expected the restaurant was not fancy at all. There was one catch, if they got their idol clothes dirty they couldn’t afford washing. It was either eating carefully or Miss Hoho’s “Plan B”. What I liked was how Miss Hoho worded “Plan B” in the screen grab.

Jelly Hayu

Ino and Hemo got to be the chefs of the buffet as Hayu looked on with envy. Better learn how to cook if you want to be in the spotlight with Ino next time. The rest of the episode was a feud over which town’s cooking was better. It was funny but not much worth delving into.

Tone's shocking news

Afterward Fruit Tart thanked Tone for all her help. While she was deeply touched she randomly dropped a bombshell on them. Poor dears. Always at risk of losing it all.

Good stuff as always.

It’s not too surprising to see Roko’s little sister showing up and even spying. I find it hilarious how she acts like a tsundere about the whole thing. Still, it’s not too surprising to see her buy 300 copies of the cds.

Also, Cat Production’s president is ridiculously adorable and it’s surprising to see her buy all the remaining stock of CDs. This makes me wonder if this is part of her plan.

Lastly, it’s surprising to see Hemo fighting with Ino. She always lovey-dovey with Ino.

So much fun! Surprisingly, no ecchiservice this episode. FIrst one actually. I imagine it will be the only one with how this show has gone XD The yuri levels were high as always!

Hemo really keeps on stepping up to the plate. Hayu’s got to get more pro-active.

Was funny that we finally got see a typical “married couple fight” between Ino and Hemo. It’s a good sign that they’ll have a strong relationship in the future. Especially since they overcame it (for now)

Hayu can get angry at Hemo all day, but she won’t get anything if she doesn’t start doing the things Hemo is doing too. Now that the concert plot is over I hope they address their rivalry more head on.

    Another Fantastic Episode!

Roko being popular with women makes me happy. She is just so Cute!

Ino was really into the idea of using Nina.

    Chiko still being amazing.

Tone’s reaction to the President was priceless. “If I interact with such a breath taking girl I’ll get arrested!”

Ino’s “inspiring” speech was great. She tries very hard and you can’t help but love her for it.

The B-side song was Amazing and how the crowd reacted at first was hilarious!

Roko in the baby apron was hilarious and absolutely adorable!

Miss Hoho was still amazing as always.

    Can’t wait for more!

Aww. Who wouldn’t want to take Roko home and buy her a wardrobe or two full of adorable clothes for dress up play, complete with an elementary school backpack? ^^ (I just realised that she would look amazing as a goth loli… and would hate it. Which coming from her is even cuter.)

Someone needs to catch the president, she’s lovely and probably secretly wants to become someone’s plaything.

I found the comment “But Chiko’s a popular idol, how could she be available…?” very inspiring. Just imagine Roko calling Chiko and whispering: “Chiko-oneesan… I need you, right now…” Chiko would leave even in the middle of a concert and be there in a few minutes ^^

Hemo, you’re amazing, keep going for Ino! You need to show her what it’s like to actually do it with a real girl ^^ Next time sneak into her bedroom where you won’t be interrupted. I do support Hayu just as much, but she has a lot of work to do to match Hemo.

I want more cutie NuaRua, let’s hope they show up next week! ^^

    Another great ep this week.

A big task for them to sell all those CDs, but as always they have creative ways to get it done. Although I’m sure Nina’s assets would’ve helped out a lot too.

Hayu needs to step up a bit because Hemo keeps making moves on Ino.Hemo knows what she wants and goes all in to get it.

Nice to see Chiko helping them out when the needed it. She’s a good sister.

Tone also puts in a ton of work too. She’s been very helpful so far and it’s nice that they rewarded her for all her hard work.

But they’re not out of the woods yet. Hopefully they can work their magic once more and save their program!
