Dropout Idol Fruit Tart: Episode 9: Fruit or Die

It’s finally time for the big CD promotion show. Were our heroines ready to take the stage?

Roko worried about their future

Roko worried about Fruit Tart’s future.

We began the episode with our heroines seeing boxes full of their CDs, about 3000 of them. They were rightfully concerned and Miss Hoho’s double standard replies didn’t help ease their concerns at all. One of the best parts of the episode in fact was each time Roko was like “Damn you Hoho”.

Tone here to help

Fortunately Miss Hoho did something good by enlisting the services of someone with marketing experience, Tone. Of course, this being Miss Hoho the real reason(s) she hired her was (were) more blatant.

Hayu mesmerized by Ino's smile

The first step was practice greetings. Hayu played the fan and the others played themselves. The goal was to use their most charming attributes to win over fans. Ino was up first. Both Hayu and Ino enjoyed the moment for different but equally gay reasons.

Ino's harem face off

Other delightful moments were Hemo’s reaction to Tone’s expertise and when it was her turn to practice greeting fans with Hayu. Excellent. They focused so much on fan interactions they forgot to practice the song. Sasuga Fruit Tart.

Riri Commercial

Miss Riri’s profile says a lot and I don’t mean her love for Miss Hoho. That’s the first thing we learned about her.

Roko thinking out loud

Roko thinking out loud and their reactions were hilarious.

Fruit Tart Dakimakura

BRILLIANT!

Ino's first reaction to Hemo's nervousness

Why, show? Why do you do this to my poor gut each and every episode?

The big day had finally arrived. Things seemed to be going well. Merch was selling and the girls were pumped, except Hemo.

Ino encourages Hemo

Hemo was really nervous and was afraid of holding everyone back but Ino assured her there was no shame in being nervous. The entire Fruit Tart crew were nervous. She shared some of her courage with Hemo.

Ino was helping a friend in need. Hemo saw it differently.

Hemo's love for Ino deepening

Hemo was like “I FUCKING LOVE YOU INO-SENPAI!”…in her mind of course, though she hid her affections as well as Ino hid her gayness.

Fruit Tart Rainbow Power

Their yuri power was so strong it touched everyone in the audience. The performance was nice too.

Cat Studio President watching Fruit Tart

Meanwhile the Cat Studio/Production president kept a close eye on our heroines, particularly Hemo at that moment. Could it be she thought Hemo was the main reason for Fruit Tart’s success? We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what her master plan is.

Excellent as always. Next time we’ll check out Cream Anmitsu’s side of the big day.

Bonus blessing.

I found it so sweet that Ino wanted one of each girl’s hug pillow. Her love extends to everyone. And Hayu darling, whose hug pillow did you buy? ^^ I can’t blame them, those pillows are so cute.

Roko’s interjections are as wonderful as always.

The Hayu and Ino practice scene was adorable too. Hayu is so in love. And then the contrast with her practice with Hemo ^^ Lucky Hemo got such a nice moment with her dream girl.

It’s hilarious how Ino’s “problem” gets brought up every episode now, and how the show handles it in such a sexy way (last episode or the one before, Hemo seemed rather aroused by it)…

Might be overthinking things but I think the camera having Hemo in the center could be a red herring. Keep in mind that Ino was also in that shot as well. It was Riri that let Hemo signed up and it was Hoho’s idea that led to her being hired in the first place, not the president’s. Meanwhile, we know nothing of Ino’s audition or why she was sent to a house full of failing talent right off the bat. Why hire a talent if you’re going to just stick them with your failures unless you had some kind of plan and expected her to help in some way by being there.

    Another Fantastic Episode!

Miss Hoho and Roko were Fantastic this episode! They had me laughing nonstop! I Love those 2 so much!

Hemo got spoiled on some Ino-sempai goodness this episode! Kinda surprised she was able to survive it.

And that part with Ino was “Injecting Courage” into Hemo was so Cute!

Never underestimate the Power of Yuri! And I really liked the song too!

We all know why Miss Riri likes Brides. And we also know who’s Bride she wants to be.

Thanks for the bonus OG my dude. Much appreciated.

    Can’t wait for more!

Another fantastic ep this week. Man I’m really enjoying Fruit Tart so much!

As usual Hoho is up to her antics, getting them further in debt. After their performance I’m sure they’ll be able to sell more of those CDs and merch and they’ll get their eel dinner.

Nice to see Ino helping out Hemo there. Ino has really grown a lot since we first saw here, she’s a great girl and idol.

Speaking of Ino, thanks for that bonus pic. Lovely!

Wondering what the Cat Productions president has planned, she seems to be fixated on Hemo for some reason.

    Looking forward to next week!

This show is always a treat~
I’m with Flairway, and think it’s a misdirection to trick us into not realizing it’s about Ino. Pulling away Ino will probably not be as simple of a loss, because being part of cat productions would mean being able to meet and interact with even more cute girls. A proposition Ino would likely struggle with. That’s also why I think it’s Ino and not Hemo. There’s not a lot they could do to pull Hemo back, outside some contractual mishap that Hoho messed up with (which isn’t improbable).

My heart melted at the “courage injection!” scene ❤

I hope we see the girls sleeping with the dakimakura they bought in a future episode.

Between Hemo and Hayu, it was Hemo’s victory again this time. I see Hayu is trying and she’s a good girl, but she needs to try a little harder if she wants to compete with Hemo.

Yep, it’s obvious that Hoho is milking it with the expensive meals and making all that merchandise. Still, I can see why Hayu and Roko is annoyed by her decision. Still, I wonder how will Hemo react after getting two Ino dakimakuras.

Still, I also wondering what Cat Production’s president is scheming too.
