D4DJ First Mix Episode 4: Keys of Harmony

It was time for the soon to be 4th member of our heroine group to show interest in joining. Let’s see how it all went down.

Young Rei

We began with a young blue haired girl, Rei, enjoying the same DJ concert Rinku did but from a different location.

Maho asking Muni about her plushieNyochio

After the OP we got a good look at our heroines’ stage costumes, more importantly Maho’s impressive guns. Speaking of Maho she asked Muni about her plushie. She got a name and one of the best “long pause” jokes I have ever seen. I’ve said this many times already but anime are so good at long pause jokes. I love them so much!

Rinku greeting Nyochio

I guess Muni’s more of a “balanced guns” girl. I gotcha.

Puppet Boy

I think I’ve had enough scares for one day.

Photon Maiden

With three members now Maho had the idea of competing at the Sunset Stage. Think of it as the Love Live! tournament for DJs or something like that. Only 8 groups could qualify to compete there. Muni had the idea of entering the Photon Maiden song writing contest to boost their street cred. Maho said she needed the help of a pianist to start working on it. Rinku offered to learn herself.

Rei shows Rinku how to better play piano

Later we followed Rei on her way to the piano room where she found Rinku practicing. She showed her how to play the tune she was practicing and Rinku immediately wanted Rei to teach her paying with “Rinku Shells”.

Rei's struggle

We then got a quick and to the point character struggle. Rei’s a very talented pianist and her elders pressured her to aim for the top. So much so she appeared to have lost the desire to play because she enjoyed it and worried Rinku’s enthusiasm could fade like hers did.

Rinku had potential but wasn’t fast enough to get better before the contest deadline. Maho suggested asking Rei to help compose instead. She was a bit hesitant but agreed.

Rei in the onsen

After multiple recordings the group picked the right tune to make a beat with. Unfortunately the song was eliminated in the first round.

Rei wishing the team good luck

Rei like the others was disappointed and thought this defeat would get them down for a while but the next day was surprised to see the gang already preparing for their next show. Not only that but they’re going to use her song.

Rinku, Maho and Muni on stage again

It was a nice song. Slower than the remix we were accustomed to.

Emotional success

Rei was in tears after the performance, happy to see people enjoy her song and the gang having a lot of fun on stage. Her passion was revitalized from the looks of it and possibly became a member as a result. If not yet then surely by the next episode.

Good stuff once more. Next time it looks like Muni will take center stage once again.

The newcomer is cute, and Maho is gorgeous in her stage clothes. I like Maho a lot: she looks like a tough girl with her two-tone hair but is a real softie instead. And her jamming in the ending is so fun to watch.

Only now I paid attention to the second-from-the-left Photon Maiden girl in the opening. What an absolute beauty… I hope we get to see more of her.

Another hype worthy ep this week. Always great to end Friday night with this show, so awesome.

Rei is a lovely addition and I can’t wait to see more of her in the future when she officially joins the group and is on stage with them.

Their outfits are super cute, really like them. And yes, Maho guns. Didn’t see that coming!

The super long pause was hilarious.

No idea what’s going on with the doll on the counter, but it was extremely unnecessary.

Great song and performance by the girls, they’re getting better and better each week and people are starting to notice.

Looking forward to more Muni next week!

It premiered later than the other Fall shows but the wait has been worth it so far, yes.

She’s already proven to be a great part of the team.

One of the best long pauses I have ever seen!

Maho’s guns were a wonderful surprise!

      Creepy little bastard.

Let’s keep on rooting for their success.

      More Muni is good.
