The episode title sums up what it’s about.
When we last left our heroines Konomi and the team realized she had the fundamentals and mental skills to become a pro climber but lacked pecks and abs. The team had two months to train for the next competition and help their new recruit get into shape.
Personally Konomi’s already a knockout but imagine how much hotter she’ll become with some muscles.
Unfortunately pro climbing doesn’t exactly require an Amazonian physique but more so stamina.
Something like this though I imagine my future hype girl had a special training regimen to achieve peak Amazonian Climber condition without building excess muscle mass.
The “campus” technique which was climbing using only your arms. It went as well as one would expect from Konomi in her current shape.
The hanging leg raise.
Why yes. I am flooding this post with sexy girls exercising screen grabs. Is that a problem?
Fellow people of culture would thank me.
Next day Konomi invited Jun to have lunch together. Jun had a classic “I worked so hard to become a pro I never noticed how fulfilling having friends was”. Scene ended with a “I like this girl and I will enjoy monitoring her calorie intake. Hehehe”.
The second half was about the actual episode title, the anti-monkey rock. Konomi’s next big challenge.
Konomi got to their destination an hour early. While passing the time she saw a cute girl play a puzzle game. She recognized it and the girl challenged her. Her old pro gamer skills blew the cutie away leading to this reaction. Something tells me she may be related to a certain Panther Elite Climber. I could be wrong. Anyhoo our heroines went to the Anti-Monkey Rock and met with a bouldering specialist who just so happened to be the cutie, Kiku’s dad, meaning she’s there too.
Konomi went to work analyzing the routes but once she gave it a go fear kicked in. Understandable for a beginner with no experience in rock climbing. Her hand froze due to the fear of the safety pads not covering her fall. The team expected this and told her that was another challenge to overcome, the courage to keep going despite the risk of injury.
After Jun showed her skills we got to see the bouldering prodigy Kiku in action. No surprise she’s really good considering who her dad was. She had years of experience with that rock so that helped too. She praised Konomi’s Gamer Vision though so that’s cool.
The rest of the episode was the 2nd half of a training montage, meaning Konomi got better over time.
Good stuff once more. If the episode 4 title is any indication then next time my life may be in jeopardy…
