Lapis Re:LiGHTs Episode 2: Quacker Quest

More sexy magical idol goodness awaited us this episode.

Tiara shushing Rosetta

Tiara shushing Rosetta.

I should have known the room mentioned last time had a bunk bed and not a King or Queen bed. Litte Viktoria’s delightful “ero-brain” briefly influenced me. Anyway Rosetta was worried about Tiara joining the Lapis Class but she’s fine with it. Still unconvinced she brought up her being a princess but Tiara was like “Shush darling. We are all equals here. Keep my royal status a secret from the others, kay?”

Lapis Class not doing well

Lapis Class not doing well.

Tiara was determined to work hard but her team had their own separate mojos preventing them from being on the same wavelength. That and they excelled at different things. Several points were lost. After class the team regrouped and noticed one hottie was not present.

Lavie's guns

That’s not what Lynette meant Lavie.

So the missing hottie was Rosetta. Tiara had to know where she disappeared to so the next day the team went all “ninja” to tail her. They saw her meeting with another hottie leading to the following exchange.

Tiara's doubts

Tiara’s doubts.

Lynette, girl of culture

Lynette, girl of culture.

Lynette went into more detail but you get the point. She is a wise bookworm. Rosetta left while they discussed her.

I looked forward to your debut.

At a restaurant Tiara was introduced to a gorgeous fellow Lapis Rank student, Ratura. Due to her strict upbringing she worked part-time to make ends meet. We also learned Ashley was a knight’s daughter hence how she could tell Rosetta was of noble birth. Ratura said she saw Rosetta walk past the restaurant. Poor Lavie was denied a yummy meal.

Rosetta found

Rosetta found.

They eventually found the azure lady. After a brief misunderstanding she explained her situation. She’s working multiple small jobs and that day she had to care for a pet duck but lost him. Lavie conveniently saw the duck waddling by the restaurant earlier. The gang offered to help her find him but she insisted on searching alone. The girls scolded her for her seriousness and secluded attitude from the past. She admitted her fault and accepted their help.

Kid Rosetta helping Kid Tiara

Kid Rosetta helping Kid Tiara.

The team split up. Tiara remembered hanging out with Rosetta long ago and though she got hurt that day enjoyed her time with Rosetta too much to let a scratch keep her down.

Rosetta saves Tiara

Pretty sure she is.

After some hijinks they cornered the duck but he was no fool. Rosetta saved Tiara from a third “wettening” (She got soaked twice thus far). Lavie and Ashley weren’t so lucky. Fortunately Lynette saved the day.

Tiara and Rosetta have another moment

Tiara and Rosetta have another moment.

After returning the duck to his owner Tiara was like:

“When you saved me, you called me Tia…”

Rosetta: Oh! It was a spur of the moment. I-

Tia: Just like the old days. I like it a lot

Rosetta: Umm…If you don’t mind, may I continue calling you Tia?

Tia: Of course, Rose!

Wedding bells!

Actually the bells were to signal an upcoming Orchestra, aka reminders that this is an idol anime similar to what we got in Gay Horsies. In all seriousness Orchestras were like Goku’s Spirit Bomb, gathering energy (in this case Mana) from the people to help power up the city or something like that. Funny enough the group performing was Yue’s, who was a princess like Tiara. While we learned the reason Tiara left home was to one day perform in an Orchestra like her older sister there was still the mystery of Yue’s beef with her family, specifically her sister. We’ll find out more in due time.

Another really good episode.

It could just be my preferences, but “super nova”‘s performance felt pretty weak. Maybe it was because I could only think of Saint Snow when looking at them, and was comparing the two. Either way, hoping the other units end up being better.

I think I could get why they don’t want her leaving: There’s probably some assassination plot. Or a reason that being outside the castle would be so dangerous for a member of a royal family. Considering there are multiple princesses gathering in this academy, i wonder if Tiara’s family is one of higher up ones, even compared to other ruling families?

This “points” system seems pretty messed up if you lose points for beating up unsavory people who are hitting on you and not taking “no” for an answer…

I don’t watch idol anime exclusively for the songs myself.

It’s a possibility. That is a royal family trope after all.

As Chikorita mentioned it’s the same thing as the Point System in Harry Potter. Dunno whether it’s harsher.

  2. chikorita157 says:

Yes, I agree that the points system is kind of messed up, just like the house point system in Harry Potter. Then again, Lavie’s not studying and Lynette being careless doesn’t help either.

Lynette is getting a bit too ahead of her self. Then again, I don’t think Rosetta would fall in love with anyone else besides Tiara. But still, it’s nice to see the relationship upgrade.

Supernova despite being somewhat underwhealming kind of reminds me of Saint Snow. Also, I believe one of the girls from that unit doesn’t look up highly towards Tiara in the last episode.

I kind of think the Director had her join that particular Lapis group because she saw potential in her to help shape them up, or she was instructed by someone else to send her there.

      Blessed progress.

They dress similarly, yes. That’s why I mentioned Yue. She asked about Tiara’s tiara and when she said she got it from her onee-chan Yue probably figured out whose family she came from and pushed her aside.

    Very Harry Potter vibes there.
Unfortunately for our girls they seem to lose more points than they can keep, this is gonna be a very tough uphill battle.
The duck chase was hilarious! You go, you duck.

    Another Fantastic episode!

I think of the group Ashley’s my favorite. She’s hitting all marks for me, she’s tall, kicks ass, and she has purple eyes and hair.

    I don’t know, I liked Supernova personally.

This episode had me laughing! This is indeed a fun show!

Glad to see Lynette to be a girl of culture.

Also glad to see I wasn’t the only one who immediately think of wedding bells when that bell rang.

    Can’t wait for more!

      Ashley is pretty cool.

I had no gripes with their song either. Then again I’m not a super serious idol judge hence why I don’t focus on the songs very much in idol anime.

      That it is.

Lynette knows love isn’t bound by gender.

While it was actually a coincidence we know it was meant for Tia and Rose symbolically too.

Haha ^^ Then again a bunk bed lets a girl sneak out of her own bed and into her lover’s, and it’s even more tight and intimate there ^^

Rosetta is so pretty in that blouse and skirt. I love the esthetics of this story. The city is beautiful with all its romantic little corners. The background art matches the gorgeousness of Non Non Biyori.

Those wedding bells made me smile, such a lovely touch. And good job saving Tia and managing to get her to land on your breasts, Rose. Pachi pachi ^^

Clearly the main character of the story is the duck though, since he is the only one who had a time stop, heroic music action sequence. I’m sure he’ll escape that imaginary leash again.

Lavie and Ashley’s bickering is so cute, I have lots of hope for them too.

They may go further than Rin and Misa before they became a couple, as far as the bunk beds go.

      The setting is lovely.

Lady luck smiled on Rose that day.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this isn’t the last time we see Alfred the Duck.

They have bickering couple written all over them.

Excellent second ep! This show continues to impress!

The point system is kinda strict, I mean bumping into that vase and breaking it was clearly an accident, seems a bit much to take away points for that. And Ashley beating up those dudes who were hitting on her, come on that was self defense, she didn’t go too far with them.

Really enjoyed the banter between the girls, never a dull moment with the 5 of them and they really all play well off each other.

Loved the Tia and Rose moments, those were a highlight of this ep. Them talking after returning the duck was a great scene. Totally wedding bells going there. Such a cute couple and watching them interact is a treat. Looking forward to more in the coming weeks!

Nice to meet Ratura as well. Short scene there with her, but wow she’s absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see her perform at some point. And speaking of performances…

What a great end to the ep, finally seeing the idol side to this show. Gotta say Yue was looking stunning there in her performance outfit. Just wow! As much as I love anime girls with red hair, there is something so elegant and beautiful about long black hair and Yue is just another example of that. Can’t wait to see them perform again.

All in all, another great ep and I’m really loving this show a lot so far!

Dunno how much worse the Point System is here compared to that in Harry Potter but it’s quite harsh indeed.

      A wonderful quintet, they are.

They’re already on their way to become a great 2020 couple if they keep up the sweetness.

We’ll hopefully see more of her and her Lapis group next episode along with a performance in the near future.

Besides bobcuts long black haired ladies are another weakness of mine. You know who one of my all-time favorite beauties is after all.

Atta boy Sir Nickolas! Instead of judging the song your focus was where it should have been, the dancing and sexiness.

the bell ring timing was perfect *clap clap clap, we learn more and more background of the school system as well as our lovely ladies.

this episode is more steamy owo, I love how rosse and tia “bonding” is all warm and fluffy and the pace feels just right. amazed by the stage performance and the visual *just wow…. and just like what we always needed. ladies of culture indeed XD. also seriously fix the grading system…poor girls =/= . looking forward to other ships relationships and the performance, i am all in for the rollercoaster of emotion

  8. Rose and Tia are super cute and they are definitely destined for wedding bells for real one day. I thought that the performance at the end was cool and the girls were indeed very sexy. I’m really liking this show and all the girls we’ve met so far are pretty fun.

That bunk bed kind of remind of our main couple in Jet Girls. Trust me the small of the bed the better. The point system kinda harsh but it’s a school for princesses after all, so. Ashley and Lavie are so funny. At first, I thought they’re like a tsundere couple but now they’re more like a comedy couple. Man, Ashley is so strong. The duck chasing scene is hilarious. Why I didn’t think of wedding bell before, it’s right there. Landing on the boobs is more than fine. Supernova are so cool and very sexy. I’ve watched a lot of idol anime and idol song, I’m proud to say I’m an expert. I love the song and the dance is very sexy. I mean they’re so hot. Yue is my favorite. Long black haired girl is my type.

    • OG-Man says:

As I told Viktoria I hope Tia and Rose get more “creative” in bed before getting together officially, if you know what I mean.

It’s probably because the school is for the elite or something like that.

Ashley is a knight captain’s daughter so her easily taking down a group of perverts makes sense.

Ashley and Lavie will hopefully become more than a fun comedy duo.

Now you know the REAL REASON why the bell rang at that moment.

The song was good but it’s more about the dance and hotness, which they nailed. Yue’s definitely one of the sexiest on the show so far.

Long black hair is usually part of a recipe for supreme hotness.
