The first round of the Summer Tournament was about to begin. Let’s see how our heroines fared.
To help the team prepare for her old teammate Kazumi Tama brought notes she took on her pitching style. Yomi was like “Ohhh? Let’s look up the article on Tama-chan’s ‘old teammate’, shall we? Oh, wherever could the article on Tama-chan’s ex ‘pitcher’ be, hmmm?”
Yomi, Ibuki and Nozomi got lost. Just as the gang was about to start looking for them Kazumi spotted Tama. She’s…bigger than she remembered.
Kazumi: “It’s a shame you didn’t join Ryoyukan with me. I wish we were still partners”.
Tama: “Your catcher wouldn’t be happy to hear that.”
Kazumi: “Well aren’t you a sassy cutie.”
Tama: “Oh uh Yomi. Umm-uh this is…”
If Narumi were less timid I wonder if Haruka and her would have fought over Kanata like this? I would have paid top dollar to see that.
Tama: “Please stop this petty squabbling” (I bet deep down she’s like “Please stop fighting over me”)
They both agreed they became better players thanks to Tama. That’s when Kazumi’s new catcher came to pick her up. Tama noticed she had a very similar build to her.
The other catcher had a “She’s mine now” look in her eyes. I could tell. Before leaving Kazumi dropped one last pipe bomb.
Yomi tried standing her ground but alas Tama’s inner clarification determined the winner.
The team asked Tama why she didn’t join Ryoyukan. She felt they were too hardcore and it would make her lose her love of the game (Although she didn’t know Yomi went to the same school we know that’s another reason she knows she made the right choice).
Guess Tama didn’t tell her she wasn’t the starting pitcher in Game 1. She took the news well.
Let’s take a look at some highlights of Part 1 of the game.
The enemy were very skilled but it looked like they weren’t having fun at all. They scored a run in the Top 1st. When it’s Nozomi’s turn Yoshino asked her to analyze the Ace’s pitches. Shiragiku’s turn to pitch would come at the Bottom 3rd. She asked Nozomi for the estimated pitching speed compared to the pitching machine. Using that info and her Kendo skills she got the highly anticipated first home run. Nozomi, her self-proclaimed rival, took it well.
Long flashback short the enemy team disliked playing against other teams. They preferred practicing together. Basically they’re anti-social outside of their team. They worked on developing a strategy to make their games go by quicker so they could get back to playing among themselves.
Not only was the game taking longer than planned but one of the pitchers copied her. It’s like a wrestler trying to beat their opponent using their own signature move against them. The rage is justified.
Such a fun show. Before I go please enjoy these photos of Shiragiku’s Mom.
