Houkago Teibou Nisshi Episode 3: To Catch a Flathead

To readers who have not heard. Fishing Girls is one of many Spring 2020 (and possibly Summer) anime affected by Covid-19, meaning after this episode it’ll be postponed till further notice. Let’s find out what our heroines were up to before going on an unexpected (for them) break.

Bartail Flathead

Bartail Flathead fish.

Hina Googled the flathead fish hoping it wasn’t as scary as the picture Natsumi showed last time. Fortunately she wasn’t scared.

For their next trip the girls went to Kamegahama. It was a ways away but Yuuki and Makoto came prepared. Fortunately Makoto’s not only big and sexy but very strong so carting the trolley full of supplies was no trouble.

Makoto carrying Hina and Natsumi

She can carry Hina and Natsumi or Yuuki with ease after all. Must be because she’s the daughter of a fishmonger.

I haven’t mentioned this but I love listening to Yuuki talk.

Hina vs Flathead

Hina vs Flathead.

The thing about this show is sometimes it’s best to watch than do a play by play.

Hina's unique fainting

Hina is a girl of interesting talents.

Hina’s first big catch (Not small ones like the first episode) was certainly an adventure. We also got a potential subplot of why Yuuki liked fishing. She said it wasn’t about catching fish for her. We’ll see where that goes when the show returns. Not much else to add. It was another fun episode. Hopefully we won’t have to wait till Fall for more cute girls fishing goodness.

    A very cute episode indeed.

Hina’s talent for feinting was hilarious!

I also love listening to Yuuki talk. I love her voice.

Well at least I can just continue to play and replay Final Fantasy 7 Remake while everything’s delayed.

The loli carrying and loli carting were adorable!

I also liked the really loving smile that Natsumi gave Hina sometime towards the end. They would make a cute couple.

I’m okay waiting. Having seen the… cubism that happened in the latest episode of Tamayomi, I’m hoping that it will be postponed as well. No need to rush something so lovely.

Natsumi is obviously asking for it since she keeps tricking Hina. I guess the kind of deserve the lure hitting her from last time.

Still, it’s quite the accomplishment for Hina to catch the flathead fish. Still, I wonder what fish that Yuuki is trying to catch. Still, given how things are going, it looks like most of the spring is going to get pushed back to the summer from the looks of it. Most of the fall anime is already pushed to next winter.

Sad to see this get postponed so early on, but I understand why it has to be done. The health and safety of everyone involved is obviously more important. #FuckCorona

Final outing of Fishing Club was a great one. More chill fishing action, it’s just what I wanted.

Hina is slowly becoming a more confident fisherman (or fisherwoman?) and soon she’ll be able to handle even the gross parts like gutting the fish and such.

Makoto sure made waves this ep, I’m loving her more and more each week. Can’t wait until the swimsuit ep rolls around. Oh man, it’s gonna be great!

Ending on a strong note for now, hope to see this one back as soon as possible.

They sure make the fish look delicious! Looks like they ate everything, so poor dad will have to go with the usual peanuts for his drink 😀
