The next Girl’s Club show we will take a look at on a blog that proudly celebrates the slice of life subgenre is one centered around the research of stars and even learn some cool stuff about our Earth and its bountiful resources. Plus two girls reuniting and making a vow to find their engagement asteroid. Bet I got your attention with the latter, eh? This is Koisuru Asteroid.

Plot Summary: One day on a group camping trip a young girl named Mira met a peculiar “boy” named Ao. When introducing herself Ao looked up the “Mira” star. She asked “him” if there was an “Ao” star to no avail. They promised to one day find and name a new star after “him”. Years passed since that fated encounter. In high school Mira hoped to join the astronomy club but it had become something different. She, along with her friend nicknamed Suzu, checked it out anyway. The “Earth Sciences” Club girls introduced themselves. One of them was named Ao.

Put simply the main story is about a promise made by two girls to find an asteroid that doubles as an engagement ring. Normally I get to the yuri part of the review near the end but since it is the main plot of the show let us get to it right away. In almost every episode Mira and Ao find time to be with each other. It does not matter if it is club activities, schoolwork or personal matters, they will find the time to either continue their research or just spend time together. They share many moments and emotions. Heck, there are plenty of hints the two missed each other dearly before their fated reunion. Friends and family can tell how much they mean to each other, yes.

Next up are fellow Earth Sciences Club members nicknamed Ino, Sakura and Monroe by Mira. Put simply Ino is the cute one, Sakura the tsundere and Monroe is usually more relaxed. The Earth Sciences Club is a hybrid club that studies both astronomy and geology. Ino and Sakura are the geology experts and Monroe knows a thing or two about space. More about their studies in a bit. Two of these three girls get together. Which ones I will leave up to viewers to find out.

The last major player of the show is arguably the show stealer for many, Suzu. She is so good at what she does I described as “Our Avatar” when talking about her with fellow yuri fans. Believe me when I say of all the girls on the show she is undeniably the gayest of the gay. Plus she has one of the most “interesting” character arcs. A truly fascinating beauty.
I need not go into detail on the rest of the cast but know that there is plenty more fluffy yuri goodness beyond these six lovely ladies.

Now on to the rest of the review. The presentation is what one would expect from a Manga Time Kirara anime adaptation, plenty of cuteness, cute and sexy bodies (provided the ladies are in their teens or older) and some nice extra background additions. First up are the girls’ eyes, specifically Mira’s. Gazing deep into here irises is like looking at small galaxies. The other girls have lovely eyes too but Mira’s and those of the women in her family stand out. Something else given great detail are of course related to the girls’ respective fields of study, astronomy and geology. A lot of detail was given to the many stones found and especially the starry night sky. The latter is often quite the sight. It is a show primarily about stargazing (or #Stargayzing) so what they are learning about has to be visually interesting for them and viewers. The soundtrack is cute. One tune in particular is a personal favorite. The one that plays while Mira is feeling glum in Episode 1.
Like any good anime centered around a specific subject matter the show teaches interested viewers some cool stuff about the Earth and the stars as we follow the girls on their respective personal journeys. As I hinted with Suzu each girl has personal obstacles to overcome related to their studies or finding a path to the future. Some girls have greater roadblocks in their path but this being a lighthearted show it does its best to neither make light of their struggle nor dampen the mood.
Overall Koisuru Asteroid is a cute, fun, educational, uplifting and fluffy gay show. The main couple’s journey and devotion to each other is already a big draw. Add in an excellent cast, vintage Girl’s Club goodness, some moving scenes and even more fluffy gayness to an already enticing melting pot of sweetness. That and a show stealing yuri avatar girl. Highly recommended to Girl’s Club aficionados and fans of sweetness.
Like many other wonderful Girl’s Club shows apart from the Moe Triforce (KinMosa, GochiUsa and Non Non Biyori) this is yet another I hope gets a second season.

Every character is amazing and cute!
My favorite adult in this series is Endou-sensei, so sexy! I’d like to think that Endou went on a date with the other teacher in the final episode.
Suzu-chan’s sheer greatness cannot be defined.
I loved this show and would love a second season.

Aww, I want more ^^ And I hope the manga translations continue too! Such a kind and cute story. It’s one of those series where I love every single character.
Chikage is such an explosion of beauty, she’s right at the top for me even though she only appeared properly in the late episodes. I think she shares favourite girl position in my heart with cute and lovesick Ao ^^
I like how it ended, promising lots of more adventures and romance. And I think the Okinawa trip made Mira and Ao break their normal club and home routine enough to develop a new, more intimate way of being with each other, shown with all the touching and when Ao had Mira gently resting in her lap. That’s it, you cuties – all of your friends will be so happy when they see you sitting closer to each other, hugging, touching, caressing and holding hands.

And so ends my favorite show of the winter season. Really sad to see this one end, my top pick and just an all around excellent show to watch.
Mira and Ao are a fantastic couple and I loved watching their journey as they try to find their asteroid together. Like you said multiple times, this is a cute and fluffy show and watching these two girls together just warms your heart. It would be great to get another season to see them continue their journey to find an asteroid together, but also just to have more of them being do cute together.
As always I’ve gotta mention the redhead cuties in this show because we’ve got a couple, Sakura and Chikage, both excellent. I really liked Chikage and it would’ve been nice if she and Nana were introduced into the main cast a little earlier on, because showing up in the final few eps, you really don’t get a ton of time with them and get to explore their characters all that much. Another season with them in the main lineup would be great to see because they were an excellent addition to the show, even if it was just for the final few eps.
And finally I have to mention the incredible Suzu. Wow she made her mark right from ep 1 and set the tone for what type of character she was going to be for this show. For me, she always lit up the scene when she was in it, she caught your attention and you were eagerly anticipating what she was going to do next. I loved her small story arc, even if it’s left a little open ended, but it was excellent and climaxed with a classic, yet time honored Valentine’s Day confession scene that was really special. While I wasn’t a huge fan of her short haired look for the final few eps, I was able to warm up to it in time and she was still the same Suzu we came to love right from the start. You said it well, she’s our Avatar indeed.
Art and music were great and what you’d expect from a Girls Club show like this, especially a show by Doga Kobo, so you know it’s going to be a great show both for the visuals and music.
I like how this was also an educational show too. Maybe not something you’ll use in your every day life, but you did learn stuff along the way, like how observatories work and what goes into photographing the night sky with massive telescopes, and other interesting geology facts too. So it’s a Girls Club show at its core but an educational one too, which is a nice touch.
All in all I just really loved this show as it’s honestly really sad to see it end. Hopefully it’s popular enough to get another season, I would even consider buying manga if it’s available in English (or if I even had money to spend on manga) but I just really want to see more of this show. Manga Time Kirara shows always seem to be pretty popular, so maybe it’ll get that S2 at some point in the future.
So yeah, fantastic show, everything about it was great, it’s a must watch for sure, and I’m gonna miss these girls dearly.

A very nice show. I got into it because I heard it would have some good yuri subtext in it and I was not disappointed (hoping the manga will have more later on kind of like Are You Lost?). Already ascended to text with Suzu’s confession.
Speaking of which while I do agree that she was turned down in ep 10, I think it is a bit more nuanced. Misa wanted Suzu to be herself rather than just try to admire her. It could very much be that once they meet again with Suzu now more true to herself that they do get together.
A similar plot point was made in Tachibanakan to Lie Angle so it’s not impossible. Crossing my fingers that I’m not wrong.
Here’s hoping that Mira and Ao find that asteroid!

While the Manga Time Kirara adaptation drought is finally over, Koisuru Asteroid is a really enjoyable show. Mira and Ao is definitely a pairing made in heaven. It’s obvious with Ao wanting to stay with Mira and moving in with her and of course flying to Okinawa to be with her. Still, I hope they will achieve their dreams together someday.
Yes, while the other pairings are good as well and I really enjoy the characters, Moe is probably the most enjoyable character for obvious reason. I find it interesting that her voice actress has the same voice as Myanee.
But yes, hopefully there is a sequel of some sort in the future.

While the show had an amazing supporting cast and Suzu stole the show most of the time, I have to talk about Mira and Ao. Their development was incredible, at the start of the show Mira wasn’t very smart and Ao couldn’t speak openly about her feelings, but by the end Mira constantly showed that she learned a lot and Ao started to act and speak when she has to, both of them got traits from each other the more the show progressed, which made them become closer and closer, to the point we got a casual lap pillow in the final episode just to show how married they are already. With little details like showing them getting used to live together and learning about each other tastes, they are one of the most realistic couples I’ve seen in a show.
Time to follow the manga now.

Suzu was absolutely the best character she is indeed our avatar.
I didn’t enjoy this one as much as other slice of life mainly because personally I thought they went too hard on the educational aspect and that made it a bit boring at times. It’s fine to have educational moment but I felt like they went about it the wrong way. Mostly I think they should have been shorter or more spaced out.
Also the pace felt a bit too fast especially towards the end.

Not only did we get to see how Mira and Ao’s relationship evolve throughout the series, we got to learn some things about Earth and Space. Wonderful!
Suzu’s larger than life personality was always such a joy to witness. She’s absolutely “Our Avatar”. I also had quite a fondness for two characters in particular, those being Endou-sensei and Ino. I found it funny whenever Endou-sensei tried to act like a cool, reliable teach and I liked how easily embarrassed she got when her past was brought up. Ino’s a small bundle of cuteness and I loved the enthusiasm she had for her interests (mapping, Sakura).
As with other Kiraranime, another season would be appreciated.
