From my understanding this bonus episode was either a pre-order exclusive or included with early copies of the video game the show promoted. It would explain why it’s so “tame”. I highly recommend skipping the red text at the very start because words cannot do the intro scene justice.
We kicked off the bonus episode with our main couple doing their homework. It seemed Rin finished first but she’s actually working on the draft of the new and improved Super Ultra Lovey Dovey Logo V2. Misa stared long and hard. Rin worried if confessing her love (or adding love to the logo) in public was going overboard and got quite anxious…but it was all part of Misa’s master plan to get a super cute pic of her girlfriend leading to the pic above the logo of the two gushing over how cute they are to each other. Again words cannot do this precious scene justice.
Sadly their special time was cut short by a text from Kaguya requesting a meeting with all the main couples. It was to help her make a new promotional video for the Jet Racing Association due to the first one being rejected. How bad was the first PV?
In short it was too serious though a certain babe approved. While seeing the beauties’ hardcore training was glorious it wasn’t what the Association was looking for. As the ladies (except one) provided constructive criticism Kaguya was like “Fine. Then what kind of video would you lot make?”
The first couple to give it a shot were of course the ones with the most media experience. What they’re going for was Jet Racing being wet, sexy and fun. In a way they touted all the game features in their video, which is to be expected from pros like them. However, as the vid went on it became more about THEM (as idols) than the sport. Again nothing wrong with that but not what was needed.
Next up were Baba Gyaru. Instead of starring in the vid they’re the directors. The jet racing stuff to them was “meh” but necessary. Rin suggested filming them washing Orcano. You all know where this was going.
Basically it was a montage of the girls’ suggested activities to again show people it was more than serious racing.
There’s a “small” joke in this part. One of the best I’ve personally ever seen.
In the end it was all for naught.
So the bonus episode was for the most part just that, a bonus episode. It had its moments like the incredible start and Baba Gyaru FINALLY showing proper intimacy. Just another episode of one of my favorite anime of 2019.
