Azur Lane TV Episode 2: 2nd Assault

Azur Lane were surprised with a sneak attack in the premiere episode. Unfortunately their time to recover was minimal before the Red Axis would strike again.

As mentioned the surprise attack by the Sakura Empire left Azur Lane in rough shape. Everyone did what they could to recover.

Unfortunately Red Axis were already planning their next attack. As Akagi nursed her beloved imouto they were sadly interrupted by a certain enemy ship I and my closest comrades were eagerly anticipating. The Sakura Empire and Iron Blood (Japan and Germany respectively) weren’t on friendly terms but they agreed to team up for the sake of their shared goals.

Enterprise joining Javelin and Laffey’s picnic.

Throughout the damage report we noticed Enterprise wasn’t the type to take things easy even with her severely weakened repairing abilities. There weren’t enough repair ships on the island making it tough on Azur Lane to get back in fighting shape. Enterprise noticed Javelin and Laffey having a picnic (Javelin worrying about Ayanami). Javelin basically asked “Enterprise, why so serious?” to which the stoic one responded “A ship girls exists solely for battle”. Laffey’s like “True but Laffey fights to protect her friends”. This got a bit of a reaction from Enterprise.

We then joined a group of boats lead by Hammann rushing to provide aid. Unfortunately they were caught off by enemy forces led by…

and the aforementioned hype boat…

Ohhhhhhh yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh. Now we’re cookin’ with gas.

She was mostly there in case things got rough. For the time being Red Axis had the advantage as Hammann’s group were no match for the “Kakus”.

Zuikaku vs Enterprise.

Zuikaku wanting the Kaku Sisters to prove their worth to the Sakura Empire engaged Enterprise in battle. As mentioned Enterprise was far from 100%. She gave it her all and seemed to have Zuikaku in a pinch but her weapons were severely damaged, breaking down at the worst time.

Fortunately help arrived in the nick of time. Yet another of my close colleagues’ hype boats.

Tune in next time to in the glory of one of the top  British Maid Boats.

PS: A most fascinating discovery was made this episode.

I can see that the anime is building relationship between Javelin and Ayanami….. And Enterprise is way too OP for Japanese ships… She almost defeat Zuikaku in her bad condition… Laffey and Z-23’s interaction was also funny.

Laffey is such an endless source of joy. And here I was thinking she was just a loli until I saw her wonderful breasts. A petite beauty – my favourite kind. I also thought she was mainly a useless sleepy monotone moe-blob (which I love), but she’s a badass fighter too.

Bless Laffey with sleep and food and drink and hugs all day ^^ I want a spinoff series of Laffey being Laffey and getting her underwear snipped by those heroic crabs.

Ayanami can’t seem to be able to stop thinking about Javelin…

  4. This is an amusing title for me since I am actually translating subtitles about actual navy wars.

It would be nice to see Javelin create a harem of Laffey, Ayanami and Unicorn. Still, the interaction with a sleepy Laffey undoing one of Javelin’s straps is kind of funny. Interestingly enough, it seems that Laffey doesn’t have much motivation to fight.

Still, it’s a nice save for that maid boat girl protecting Enterprise. I guess she learn not to work herself to her limit next time.

This battle is pretty good, but I still find it hard to get over Zuikaku and Shoukaku as enemies, hopefully future allies.

Honestly see they doing a better job than KT, presenting more character while keep a conflict consistently.

I’ve already expressed most of my thoughts on this ep in my post, but just gotta say one more that Prinz Eugen sure brought the heat. Wow so sexy!

Shoukaku and Zuikaku are another great sister duo packing some big guns too.

    Belfast hype next week!

I too underestimated Javelin and Laffey, they’ve got some guns there. Nice.

    Oh Laffey, never change 😉

The way things are going right now, I’m assuming that any ship girl that appears will live up to the hype.

“I am just a maid passing through”. If this phrase or any variant of it is uttered by a maid/butler, that should be your cue to flee for dear life.

Zuikaku’s Flame Slash, if it had been successful, would’ve been painful, no doubt. It made me think of this, too:
