Machikado Mazoku Episode 11: Lovers Quarrel

The time had come for learn the truth about many things.

Shamiko preparing to enter Momo’s dream world again. Also pay close attention to one photo in particular. Ryoko is a natural.

After another hilarious back and forth between Shamiko and Lilith our heroine again tried the “Shamiception” technique to gather more info on Momo. She said it’s for the good of her family but we all know the real reason. Unfortunately Momo’s defenses were stronger this time around. She approached the door to Momo’s heart but was greeted by a familiar entity.

Remember this.

Shamiko vs Guardian.jpg

Shamiko vs the guardian Metatron.

Shamiko tried convincing the guardian Metatron to grant her passage but did a poor job masking her true intentions. How Shamiko evaded her pursuer is the stuff of legend. Afterward Shamiko returned to the door charming her way inside.

Lover’s quarrel.

Unfortunately for Shamiko Momo became aware holding the sexy cutie hostage as the two had a heart to heart talk. The two argued about keeping secrets from one another. The big bombshell being Shamiko was born with a weak body and spent most of her early years in the hospital. In the end Shamiko wanted to help her family without the need to hurt Momo. The next big clue came when Shamiko’s dad was brought up. It was clear mom kept his real whereabouts a secret, which wasn’t hard given Shamiko’s gullibility. Before Momo could go deeper Mikan worriedly tried waking her up. Momo had a last second message for Shamiko but our little hottie didn’t have enough time to understand it.

This led to the two continuing their soul mate spat till mama showed up to clear the air.

The mikan box.jpg

Shamiko, Ryoko, mom and…DAD!?

Long exposition dump short Shamiko was cursed with most of the dark clan’s power which was why she was born so frail. Ryoko was curse free though. Shamiko’s other clumsy traits were inherited from mama (makes sense). Now for the third bombshell. To help lessen Shamiko’s suffering and the family misfortune her dad made a pact with Sakuya Chiyoda, Momo’s sister and former guardian of the city. However, to do this Sakura was forced to ward off the darkness for all time (or something like that) and dad was sealed away…in a pocket dimension inside the mikan box!

Sad Momo.

How will ShamiMomo patch things up? Tune in next time to find out. My next post on the show will be the G-View though.

This episode was a little light on the humor compared to others, but damn, this show can pull off drama really well also. Shamiko and Momo both lost beloved relatives to this curse, so hopefully they can break it together. . . By getting married of course.

Momo’s heart was broken to a billion pieces when she realized that Shamiko (her supposed girlfriend) and she could be true enemies to each other. That meant Momo never once thought Shamiko hated her despite saying that Momo is enemy which is 100% true. And Shamiko’s past was tragic as a Moepocalypse show despite Machikado Mazoku being funny as hell. Even Momo was worried that she might have go overboard on Shamiko…

She was quite right about Shamiko not hating her at any point, even if our demon girl was quite pissed at certain times (see out-of-wieners incident).
But most ironically, Momo’s declaring them to be enemies right when Shamiko’s starting to consider her some sort of an ally (not wanting to hurt her on her quest for her family).

“It seem… I really was your mortal enemy the whole time…”
To me, rather than declaring, it seem like Momo’s recognizing that she is Shamiko’s enemy like Shamiko always said. What’s more ironic to me is Shamiko never wanted Momo to disappear despite wanting to defeat Momo and undo the seal. Shamiko even said that she would find another way to undo the seal without making Momo disappear.

I know episode 11 usually the “drama” episode, but boy this show still hilarious. Lovers quarrel part one and two were adorably funny. Angry Momo playing with the tail, adorable. There is a lot of information, but the fact that Momo soon to be Father in law is in the box and use him as a table and something to step on was hilarious. Tell me if I’m wrong, Momo said Sakura Chiyoda is her sister in law. So she’s married to Momo’s brother and that’s why they have the same last name? I wanna know what will happens next but will sad to see this show ended too.

“However, to do this Sakura was forced to ward off the darkness for all time (or something like that) and dad was sealed away…in a pocket dimension inside the mikan box!“

This might be the translation, but I noticed the wording of the message Sakura left indicates it might not have been her who sealed Shamiko’s Dad away. Everyone just seems to have assumed so…

Momo instantly getting freaked out by the fact that she made her love run and thus may have endangered the life of the love of her life was precious.

I’d like to think that the dad could see everything taking place outside of his ‘holding cell’, like Shamisen could, and was cheering on his precious daughter to get the girl of her dreams all along. Not to mention help her reaching high places.
And it’s kinda heartbreaking to know that they had meals at that box as a dining table, so the family would still eat together…

Now after all that setup, onward to the emotional season finale!

Momo cares deeply for the adorable hottie.

Wouldn’t surprise considering what kind of show this is.

The show mixed humor and emotion so well this episode. Actually they have been doing so throughout. Very commendable.

      You bet it’ll be emotional.

    I saved this for after Symphogear, because I knew Symphogear would hit me hard, and this was supposed to be a solution! Not more of a problem ;_;

    Man another absolutely wonderful episode!

The distraction was indeed the stuff of legends! Fantastic!

I laughed so Hard when Momo chucked Lillith into the atmosphere from remembering the dream!

Gha! This episode had so much ShamiMomo moments! So No Momo, you’re not eternal enemies! You’re Soulmates! Hopefully Shamiko will make her see this burning truth next episode!

I’m gonna be so sad when this is over next week! This show is too good!

As some have mentioned the icing on said legendary thing was how Momo reacted to Lilith the next day.

I’m pretty sure the two will patch things up and grow closer than ever in the finale.

Summer 2019 had so many great shows.

It’s yet another funny episodes. It’s amazing that Momo manages to catch Shamiko on the act of manipulating her dreams. Still, it’s nice to learn about Momo’s older sister and apparently, she helped out Shamiko’s mother and more so. Still, it explains Shamiko’s mother money problems.

Still, I think things will work out in the end.

Even when Shamiko and Momo were having serious arguments, it managed to be light-hearted and funny. That aside, gee, Shamiko had a rough childhood to say the least. Seriously, if it wasn’t for Sakura’s aide, she may not have made it. Also, Sakura’s such a good MG, ensuring the safety of demon-kin in times where blood-thirsty MGs were roaming about 😉

So, Shamiko’s dad was sealed in that mikan box this whole time. That’s hilarious. I would like to think that he’s aware of what’s going on in the house at least.

Momo may have caught Shamiko attempting to manipulate her dream but the slithering Ancestute was just too repulsive to resist, so have nice trip Lilith!

“It seems…I really was your mortal enemy this whole time”. Momo, please. I’m pretty sure your sis didn’t seal Shamiko’s dad intentionally. It had to have been accidental, so quit being so hard on yourself.

Momo is proof MGs aren’t all cute and innocent defenders of justice in this universe.

Leave it to this show to mix comedy and drama in a way the former doesn’t feel the least bit distracting.

The things that have happened to the Ancestue throughout the show were hilarious.

We’ll learn the exact details in the finale.

Luckily that mikan box never got tossed into a dumpster all these years

Couldn’t afford a table, the box was so helpful they felt no need to dispose of it or a 6th sense told them not to. I know people who don’t like throwing away stuff no matter how old they are.

I’m sure their mom warned them against that time and time again. Given their financial state, the girls didn’t want to waste anything either.
Honestly, Shamizen was treated more poorly over the years than that box. xD

Shamiception, I love it. It’s perfect.

I went into this ep expecting it to be a backstory on Momo mainly, but instead we got the full Shamiko backstory instead. Momo factored into it as well, along with her sister, but it was mainly about Shamiko.

As serious as this ep was, there still were plenty of light hearted moments too. Can’t be gloom at doom all the time.

Finale in a few days, I miss this show already.
