As Symphogear fans it’s only natural to ask how Symphogear will leave most of us with our jaws on the floor this time. Let’s find out.
Attacking Carol head on? This is a Final Boss level enemy ladies.
As expected Super Carol made Noble Red look like sub-bosses. Milaarc dared interrupt her emotional moment. The trio were lucky she wasn’t in Apocalypse Mode.
Elfnein keeping Carol under control.
Carol was about to make quick work of the three but Elfnein was like “We must focus on rescuing Miku”.
C: Ugh. Fiiiine.
E: Thank you for helping me darling.
C: Th-this is my body! I wasn’t doing it for you…Ahem. As I was saying, we must give our harem a proper burial. Heh. Look at me, so not following the supervillain guidebook.
Afterward Carol made contact with S.O.N.G. and explained her resurrection was possible by secretly reinstalling her memory data inside Elfnein during mental scans after Season 3/GX. She told our heroes to help take down the cocoon (Shem-ha) while she worked on freeing Miku. Her castle was equipped to destroy the world after all so a divine entity was no problem.
After Evil Grandpa scolded Noble Red and grew closer to becoming a classic supervillain CaroNein had a cute conversation as they worked to free Miku.
Phonic Gain.
Carol’s plan was for Team Symphogear to use Phonic Gain to resonate with the castle and get enough power to shut down the cocoon. Unfortunately it without Captain Bikkie this proved to be quite difficult.
Phonic Angels.
Noble Red came back for a rematch and used their special move, Master Daedalus Pyramid on Carol but instead it gave her the time to use Phonic Gain herself, destroy the pyramid of doom and give our quintet the needed power boost. This of course drained most of her power giving Elfnein back the wheel.
Vanessa betrayed.
As if things couldn’t get worse for our forced antagonists the special blood Evil Grandpa provided had unpleasant side-effects.
Back to Team Symphogear. Quick question. What’s more badass than fist bumps?

Ultimate Booty to the rescue!
Captain Bikkie was like “Naw Chief. I had the worstest of dreams that my “bestie” (Again. the heart knows but not the brain) was leaving me so I had to pull a John Cena and recover in record time BROTHER!” and made a dramatic entrance to take down the cocoon once and for all! Bikkie was like “Naw Sora. THIS IS HOW YOU PULL OFF AN EPIC DIVE BROTHER! Help me out brahs!”
Team Symphogear did their thing and everything seemed to be alright. However, Elfnein noticed they miscalculated and…
Miku V2 Henshin.
“Insert ‘Aw shit. Here we go again’ meme here”
Well. The day has come at last. We were expecting Miku to don a Super Armor again. Sadly it’s yet another brainwashing (technically possession). I have a feeling Captain Bikkie won’t be able to free her in one episode this time. I could be wrong but we’ll see. Come on Miss Heart. Tell Miss Brain what to do next. The ED was especially cruel this time. Hoo doggy this is going to be a long wait. Symphogear is one of the few anime in existence that has this effect on me.
The Yuri Empire 
Oh my, I once thought Tsubasa had the best henshin, now I stand corrected with Miku’s transformation, good God it was gorgeous. So now Bikkie will have to face off against the love of her life……again, I have a really sinking feeling about what’s to come based on that ending.
To quote Mr. Incredibles: “I can’t. Not again. I’m not………strong enough”

This episode has just reduced me to spouting random phrases, because words really do not do it justice. Everything in this episode is what you’d expect from a finale, and yet we still have five episodes left to go. I cannot even begin to imagine what the actual finale will be like.

Unless they throw a surprise movie announcement after the end credits then this definitely is shaping up to be the series finale. We have no idea what will happen next AND I LOVE THAT FEELING!

Love the fact that Miku transformation has the Shenshoujing (kinda) in the background and the representation of her Aufwachen Waveform has stars in it.
I also think Hibiki still calling Miku just a friend is intended and like you pointed out before, the dreams Hibiki has are for the sake of understanding her real feelings for Miku. She wont be able to save her until she realizes that.

I am definitely thinking this time Miku’s going to be on the “bad side” for a much longer time. This season is all about tying up all the loose ends and cleaning up everything that’s been left around. Hibiki and Miku’s situation being a key point of it all.
Things just keep on getting more crazy, and I expect the final finale will have a fight that makes gurren lagann’s finale look like a schoolyard brawl.
I know they played that ending, and they’re REALLY slathering on “goodbye Miku”, but she’s still in there, I fully believe. And I know that Hibiki will be the one to get her out.
I am curious what grandpa evil is going to be doing with Tsubasa, and how he plans on controlling a berserk god(dess). The guy is pure insane, worse than Ver.

True. Us peeps who have been here since Day 1 have been waiting over 7 years for this. Hopefully the wait will soon be over. So many seeds have already been planted. Time for “IT” to finally bloom.
This being Symphogear we can expect a bombastic series finale for sure.
Hence why I said it’ll be much harder this time for Bikkie.
Dr Ver was nuts but it looked like he knew what he was doing. Evil Grandpa’s become chaotic evil, plain and simple.

First, we get a MIku vs. Hibiki rematch with another saving the beloved one no contest and after that, it is time for Maria x Tsubasa, when they settle the score against grandfather – in-law for Maria.
I am sure that this is not the final season and we see a grande finale S6 confession between Miku x Hibiki.
Shy Maria has to make the first move and her beloved Tsubasa will wait, no matter how long it takes. Still no onscreen make up, but fighting together works – somehow. Fighting and protecting side by side is the best way of showing their love to each other – with final confession, of course.

This is exactly why I’m so hesitant to continue watching Symphogear… I’ve stopped not long after season 3 (though not because I got upset about anything, I merely forgot about it between seasons…)
I was hoping after Miku’s first possession that they would make her a badass warrior too (fighting alongside her girlfriend), but as I see it on the wiki now, I was left disappointed.
And if Miku is gone this time for good, then so will my inclination to watch this show.
But on the other hand, I’m glad you folks are enjoying the show regardless, so please don’t mind my rant! 🙂

She’s not “gone for good”, but she’s never been a “warrior”, and that’s fine. She’s always been the reason Hibiki’s been able to fight, and hasn’t given up on the face of everything

And I absolutely agree, that wasn’t my main grief at all. 🙂 (Rather, I would have very much liked it if it happened, but non-combatant Miku is fine in my book too.)

Which is exactly why she’s being used to make more tension in the story (if I get it right). And since it’s being done the second time now, I’m dreading the outcome this time.
If Hibiki gets her back though, they definitely need to invest in some anti-possession technology for the future. 😀

Indeed. Miku just so happens to get armors designed to be OP. She’s decked with Level 99 gear while our heroines are Level 70 or so at this point in the series. Captain Bikkie is Level 75-80.
Yup. She falls under the Superhero’s Lover trope or something like that with the same kind of character development.

Like @Cirno said shes not gone, theres also a big chance that she will get back her gear for good this time. The need for 7 gears has been hinted since GX, Carol talk about the 7 stars from the orion constellation and the 7 musical scales. And all the hints given this season.
Also while not a warrior, she would willingly give her life for others and stand her ground if needed, she has done this several times since S1. Hibiki too, wasnt a warrior, like Tsubasa and the others and look at her now xD.
I think her wish of walking alongside Hibiki will finally be granted.

I don’t know what to say except, I’m hoping for the best. Id’ be lying if I said I’m not worried. That Miku montage at the ending, it’s beautiful, but I’ve seen enough anime to know that showing happy times can be a sign something’s bad will happen to them. I really hope it ends well for my favorite couple. Even if I have to wait for several episodes. Well, either way, I’m ready.

Loved the Carole and Elfnein interactions, was good.
Phonic Angels, glorious.
Maria and Chris with the Boob Bump (great name honestly) was a highlight of the ep for sure.
Finally get to see that Miku transformation. Although she’s brainwashed/possessed again… gonna be a tough battle for HIbiki.
The Miku montage at the ending has me worried though, I’ve seen enough anime to know that when a character gets a lot of attention outta the blue like that, nothing good follows. Hopefully I’m just being overly paranoid, I’d hate to see anything truly bad happen to her. I mean brainwashing and/or being possessed is pretty bad to begin with, but dying is worse.

Bad feeling about where the season might end up going, and what might end up happening to Miku increases.
But Hope that Hibiki will realize her true feelings, and in doing so, find the chance and the power to save her, increases in turn.
