Machikado Mazoku Episode 6: Dreamy Helper

A most interesting episode awaited us.

Shamiko not cool with Lilith’s plan.

Our heroine was again called to Lilith’s pocket dimension for a meeting. This time she wanted take advantage of Shamiko’s power increase to carry out Operation Inception, in which Shamiko would use a magic mirror to enter Momo’s dreams and have her do as she said, in this case offer her blood. Shamiko didn’t like the plan but went along with it anyway.

Upon entering Momo’s dreamscape Shamiko was surprised to see how gloomy and mucky it was reflecting Momo’s inner sadness. She tried carrying out the plan but couldn’t stand seeing Momo down. That and the muck was getting deeper.

Sexy Shamiko ready to help Dream Momo.

She helped Dream Momo clean up her dreamscape but forgot her mission before time ran out.

Momo sick.jpg

Sick Momo.

The next day Momo appeared outta nowhere before Shamiko as usual only this time she wasn’t looking so hot. Poor dear got sick. On the bright side Shamiko managed to influence her to liking Generic Cola the night prior.

Shamiko meets Momo’s navigator Metoko.

After lots of hilarity helping Momo to her place Shamiko felt like “the time hath come” with Momo in her weakened state.

Momo's attempt at cooking steak.jpg

Momo. Powerful heroine, horrifying cook.

This explained how Momo got sick, because of love. Being an honorable “villain” Shamiko used her years of training to eat almost anything to not have Momo’s efforts go to waste.

Being the easily distracted cutie she was Shamiko let go of a perfect opportunity to score a win in favor of helping her subconscious love interest. Suddenly she noticed a cut and wiped off the blood. Remember this.

Lilith evolved a bit.

Some more hilarity but this time it was Momo on her way to Shamiko’s. She was too late however as the sacred Doorstop got a sip of the bit of blood on Shamiko’s tissue granting her the ability to communicate with Shamiko in doorstop form.

Momo happy she has Shamiko on a leash.

Thanks to Shamiko’s little snafu she’s now “forced” to help Momo protect the city, much to the latter’s glee. Look how happy she is. My goodness she is so deeply in love.

My summary may sound simple but trust me this was one of the best episodes yet. Someone in the comments last episode pointed out this show having become a romcom. That’s pretty much what this show is.

Next time the orange haired girl finally debuts.

Yes, definitely the best episode so far. It’s somewhat obvious that Shamiko has a crush on Momo and now it’s more apparent in this episode as she takes care of her and wins without actually fighting her. Also, Momo seems to have feelings for her as well, which can explain why she is willing to help her and now she got her now that Shamiko took the blood. I guess Shamiko now lost motivation to murderize Momo, which is probably a good thing.

Another truly wonderful episode! It showed that when it comes down to it Shamiko will always chose her love for Momo over an easy win. They’re soulmates I tell you! Soulmates!

Also I absolutely love Momo’s navigator Metoko! “The time hath come.”

I truly adore this series! Looking forward to meeting orange girl!

The plot kicks in, Momo in love is wonderful, but I loved that the reason Shamiko could enter Momo’s dream was because her heart starts beating faster when she’s around her, both are so hopelessly gay. I’m sure their dynamic will get even better now that Shamiko has to help Momo protect the city.

Shamiko feels guilty and takes care of her future girlfriend and Momo is very thankful for that, because it is Shamiko´s fault that Momo feels sick.

I thought that a talking cat familiar only belongs to witches – like Emma has Celine in Cold Steel as cliche parody – and not to magical girls.

Lord, forgive me for such a trivial mortal demand but……………I want a BEACH EPISODE.

I’d pay real money to see Momo’s reaction to Shamiko in swimsuits

THE TIME HATH COME… for Shamiko to shine. She may be a lousy combatant (for now), but she’s very dependable as an everyday person. And Momo’s home is in a desperate need for a wif… I mean, roommate like her. Our resident magical girl would finally have a proper meal on a daily basis at the very least.

This was indeed the best episode yet.

Yuri is good as always… Momo saying ‘Don’t think it mean you’ve won!’ in the end make me laugh so hard. And it’s not big spoiler but Shamiko family 40,000 yen curse was broken by Momo’s blood in the manga chapter of this episode

I’m surprised you (and no one) mentioned that interesting tidbit about how Momo in her dreams was much shorter, implying that’s what her natural form would be if not for a certain curse placed on a certain tribe…

Anyway! Much happened! Many great things! Everyone was adorable, and we learned that Shamiko’s friend is a JSDF operative/professional assassin! We also learned that Momo desperately needs a certain someone to take care of her cooking 😉

And of course, we learned that maybe things aren’t as “happy go lucky” as it seemed, and magical girls are much more necessary than the “peaceful” era they thought they were living in. And Shamiko learned that Momo is dealing with a lot of dark feelings. Which she helped clear out in the dreamspace, but she needs to also attack the problem in the waking world.

Should be lots of fun to see how Momo’s help enters the picture (am suspect she might like Momo, so should create some interesting scenes with Shamiko)

As I see it, Momo was short in the dream because she was back in her younger form from 5 years ago (when she saved the world with her friends). Her speech was more inline with that too (not to mention her hair), so I don’t think it was about any curses.

The sludge that surrounded her is another matter though. As you pointed out too, it was most likely negativity/dark feelings, born from her apathy that she developed in the past 5 years. But fortunately, our favorite exhibi… I mean, crisis manager and dream cleaner had showed up and took care of things.

More serious episode but still funny. And yes it is the best episode so far and major development. Momo being a little smaller and with long hair made me think again, there’s something happened in her last battle which was 6 years ago. She looked so cute tho. Momo brought a big bottle of cola was hilarious. I can’t wait for ShamiMomo join forces. And finally, a certain orange girl is coming.

It is indeed a very good anime. I am glad I followed it.

Talking about which, I can’t seem to be able to find your post about the list of yuri anime anymore since the site’s name has changed. Would you please be kind enough to provide the link to it.

Again, thank you for your hard work!

Try as she might to be a villain of ill repute, Shamiko can’t help but aid Momo with her troubles within dreams and in the real. I’m sure she prefers this over mortal combat.

Regardless, Shamiko scored her first win over Momo, even if she totally forgot about getting her blood. Momo acknowledged her loss so it counts. On the other hand, you could say that Momo won in the sense that she roped Shamiko into protecting the city. That beaming smile of hers said it all.

That being said, Momo’s home life is far from what you’d expect a Hero of Light to have. I wonder if there’s something up with how the Light Clan bestows blessings on their charges seeing as she’s not the only Magical Girl around.

Poor Metako, being reduced to saying only one phrase in its old age. However, I wonder if that’ll change now that Momo seems motivated to do some heroics(since Shamiko’s gonna be tagging along).

I guess we don’t have to worried about Metoko incubating anything then…
