Symphogear XV Episode 6: Track Down All Doubts

Quite the cliffhanger last time, as usual for Symphogear. Let’s not waste time and see what happened next.

Elfnein and Miku.jpg

Cool pose Elfnein.

Hibiki and Tsubasa arrived at the scene of the bloodbath but only found a fresh red pool. Before we get to what actually happened let’s check up on Tsubasa.

Tsubasa refusing Maria's help.jpg

Tsubasa refusing Maria’s consoling.

Bikkie was of course a nervous wreck but did her best to hold it in. Luckily her teammates helped cheer her up, except one. Like Bikkie the others had a feeling the Alca-Noise attack was a distraction but Tsubasa was like “Oh so it’s my fault Elfnein and Miku were in danger”. Maria was all like “talk to me babe” but Tsubasa was having none of it. She didn’t blame her of course. Tsubasa’s still pretty shaken up after all. Will always be Best Girl to Maria and me.

Tsubasa still cursed.jpg

You bastard!

As Tsubasa was again trying to sort out her struggling Evil Grandpa somehow used Milaarc’s curse to begin his evil scheme of manipulating a heel turn out of the warrior queen. You BASTARD! Oh and we got a traditional Kanade mention. It’s not a complete season of Symphogear without Finé and Kanade cameos.

She and the rest of Team Symphogear were called to the bridge once more. Long explanation short the “inspector”/traitor was indeed the one Milaarc sliced, as many of us suspected. Funny enough as I watched the episode I wondered, “Wait a minute. did she use one of their blood packs to throw our heroines off track?”, but of course the traitor was the one killed because let’s face it, who cares about that Dr Ver wannabe? Personally glad he was a short lived plot device. Good riddance ya jackass.

Elfnein and Milaarc.jpg

Elfnein captured.

I didn’t notice last time but Noble Red’s new base was the remains of Carol’s Castle. Basically Evil Grandpa made sure the castle was under the Kazanari jurisdiction, hence why it wasn’t dismantled. At least that’s my best guess. So they needed Elfnein to activate one device in particular, her being the host of Carol’s final body and all. Elfnein was like “But the relics needed to activate the Omega Weapon were destroyed!” and the two baddies were like “Naw. Not that device. THIS ONE!”. It looked like a machine powered by disposed Puppet bodies, or to be freaky, all of Carol’s scrapped bodies. I may be exaggerating but let’s go with that for creep factor. As for Miku, take a wild guess what they needed her for. She even had a spiritual experience.

Maria Training.jpg

One of the best parts of the Season 4/AXZ OP.

We joined Maria calming herself by training, thinking of how to help her beloved Best Girl along with that time in S2/G when HibiMiku were blasted by the Holy Ray of Doom, becoming vessels for divine entities (Remember this). She then had a flashback of when Serena and her had arguments. They had a special song. Remembering it gave her an epiphany. We’ll see where that goes another time.

Vanessa pose of doom.jpg

Have I mentioned how much I love Vanessa?

Back to the present S.O.N.G were starting to connect the dots between the Kazanari and Noble Red’s alliance. The enemies detected our heroes obtaining crucial evidence against them so Vanessa set out to throw a party. What followed was a vintage Symphogear chase scene featuring Maria and Christopher vs Vanessa. Awesomeness ensued as always. The duo eventually cornered her but something unexpected, even for her, occurred.

Excellent stuff as always. Like I said on Twitter it feels like every time the writers work on this show they have a blast, hence why it’s one of the all time greatest anime of my generation, yes. Tune in next time to find out what the mystery cocoon thing is. Premature SPOILER: It has something to do with Miku.

I don’t really know what to say. Somehow, Symphogear just keeps on getting crazier, and things just get more and more amazing

I know I’m probably a fool for thinking they might actually kill off Miku, but I’ve seen some pretty dumb moves from franchises. So, I just couldn’t be 100% assured. Fortunately the episode gave it away fast. The minute they talked about Miku being a “possible vessel for a god”, it was obvious why they took Miku and didn’t actually kill her.

Freakin evil grandpa ;_; I hope they have Maria break through that weird hypnosis.

And now, we’re back to another gear Miku most likely. We also now know what was teased at the end of Season 4. THIS SHOW IS TOO EXCITING!!!

That modern day ninja technique reminds us of how the non-gear users are no slouches themselves. I look forward to when Master has the inevitable face off with evil grandpa. I think one of hte more surprising things in this show is that Tsubasa and him are related…..Or did I miss when it said it in a previous season or something? Or just forget? Either one is totally possible!

Hopes for a Miku transformation scene rise!!

Many suspected Miku wasn’t the one who got sliced. Worst case scenario would have been losing a hand. Thankfully that didn’t happen (yet).

Yup. We have seen on multiple occasions the other S.O.N.G agents hold their own and each time it was awesome.

Chief Akuma vs Evil Grandpa has to happen. It would be an injustice to not have the chief in action again.

At this point Miku getting a new armor is a matter of when, not if.

I love how every episode there’s been a lot to talk about. Normally by this episode the girls would be kicking the villlains ass until chapter 9 or 10 where somehow the villains turn the tables. This season however its just chapter 6 and things have escalated pretty quickly.

I love how we can feel the trust and bonds they’ve formed, we already knew about Hibiki caring for Miku (which still is great to be reminded of) but watching Chris cheer Hibiki and be more considerate with her kouhai and also Maria covering for Tsubasa knowing shes suffering was really great.

At this point its uncertain if Miku will get a gear like some of us want to, my only real wish (and surely most of the people watching the show) is for her and Hibiki to get together at the end as a couple and be happy. I said it before, for the both of them this would be most meaninful ending, hope the writers/creators thought the same.

I really hate that hypnosis on Tsubasa. She ain’t getting any better. Maria better do something fast. And there always something called the power of love, get her a smooch. Maybe that’ll work. Thank god Hibiki still act rationally. Vanessa, oh man, she is dangerously hot. I don’t want her to die. Ever.

    Relationship problems everywhere.

Time for making up next episode – if possible.

As my Maria x Tsubasa confession prediction will surely be right, we will get one of the best confessions of the year.

Can you make a list of the best confessions of 2019 in January 2020?

If all goes the right prediction way, I already have my top 3.

    M x T, C x T and K x R.

Wait, no HibMiku? They’re even building it up for when that time comes for either Hibiki or Miku to confess, surprisingly enough it will probably be Hibiki the first one to convey her newfound feelings.

If anything Tsubasa and Maria will probably get together, if possible in the battlefield probably against Millarc, and only after Tsubasa fights against Maria. Maria will probably be on the verge of death or to damaged (My guess is she will use her Zesshou) and thats what will snap Tsubasa out of the mind control remembering how Kanade died and not wanting that to happen to her new partner. .

Had a feeling that guy was the one who got sliced and diced. What a mess. He was gross though so it’s fine he ended up like that.

Tsubasa is having a rough time this season. Usually she’s kicking ass all over the world, but she’s been not her usual self this season, that curse thing via Evil Gramps isn’t helping the situation either.

    Vanessa is hot. Enough said.

Miku hype too. I feel like she’s gonna pop off soon and this show will kick into and even higher gear, which is hard to imagine as this show goes hard every week.

Yup. He deserved it. Bargain Bin Dr Ver wannabe.

Guess the writers figured Maria’s Squad and Christopher had had enough torture. Plus the Kazanari are heavily involved in the plot so it makes sense why it’s Tsubasa’s turn to be tortured. It’s a continuation of her struggles from season 3/GX.

      Yup.

Miku’s return to the battlefield is imminent. Let’s hope Bikkie will have what it takes to free her again.

  7. I suppose I can say that I called it being the traitor Dr. Ver knockoff who got sliced…

And it seems the Reds are aware of MIku’s aptitude for the Divine…most likely heard it through the Kazanari Old Man, I guess…

Though it seems just how much potential Miku has for such stuff surprised even them…

Let’s hope Maria indeed can bring Tsubasa back to her senses, and back to their side if need be, without too much pain and suffering…or before too much such is caused…

A lot of people suspected Miku would not get axed.

Yup. Pretty sure Evil Grandpa told them.

Miku is The Ultimate Waifu for good reason.

Maria will most likely need to take notes from Bikkie and Nanoha to rescue her woman. As you said let’s hope not many lives are lost.

please don’t make Miku a divine vessel or whatever, again… we’ve already seen this cliched plot before, and it didn’t go well for the bad guys last time, or have they not watched the previous seasons?
