The reason why I am covering the second season as a Yuri Quickie than a G-View is because, put simply, it is more of the same. I shall elaborate as we take a look at Kakegurui XX (Season 2).
For a more detailed description of the show check out my G-View of the first season HERE.
Alternate Title: Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler XX (EN)
Genres: Psychological, Thriller
Themes: Gambling, Social Class, School, Yuri
Number of Episodes: 12
G-Rating: 8/10

Disgusted Yumeko.
As I said above season 2 is more of the same, meaning, as a dear friend of mine put it, “Local Horny Women Enjoy Playing Deadly Games“. The main difference is that this time, again quoting my dear friend it is about “Local Horny Women Enjoy Playing Deadly Games and Having S*x in The Forest“. The show’s main draw remains seeing Yumeko face off against crazy gamblers and “outcrazying” them with her own “chaotic neutral” brand of gambling madness in her search for the ultimate thrill, looking down on anyone who got cold feet or would dare deprive her of her luscious craving for life threatening wagers. This time however, she had some help here and there from former foes, not because they are all friends or anything but more “common goals” or “the enemy of my enemy” reasoning.

Kirari and the Momobami Family.
This time our crazy heroine and her allies/former foes must content with Kirari’s relatives, most of which are as creepy (possibly creepier) than the seitokai. Kirari put her position as seitokaichou on the line in a new election and votes were gathered as one would expect, through gambling on other devious methods. There are some neat surprises here and there but again the appeal is trying to follow the game, its rules, and, if possible, figuring out how Yumeko and/or her allies may best their opponent/s, if at all playing fair or through cheating. While we do not get to see all the “-Bamis” in action (Fingers crossed for a 3rd season) most of them are challenged and provide their own can of “psycho soda”…and it is delicious. But of course the tastiest of all will always be Yumeko’s insane flavor.
Everything that made the first season enjoyable or unapproachable depending on who you ask is here and personally I felt season 2 was better than the first one. It is difficult to explain…Actually not really. Viewers who check this one out can easily guess why I enjoyed this one more.

The ED is 10 X more glorious.
Now on to the main attraction. Long story short it is gayer than last time. Not only that but there is a special mini arc that stole the show.
When viewers see this tower they will know it is time.
So yeah that is Kakegurui 2. More of the same but with a pinch more awesomeness. Viewers who enjoyed the first season probably enjoy this one too, possibly even more. Hopefully the wait for a 3rd season will not be a long one.
Having read the Tower of Doors Arc in the Manga, I was thoroughly satisfied and though I knew what was coming, the animation still had me floored! It was such a good adaptation and it was as gloriously gay as I hoped for. I honestly don’t think I’d have enjoyed this season nearly a much ha it not been for this arc. I hope Season 3 will be here soon, as I’m eager to see what’s next.

It was the best “game” of the season. Dare I say, series by far.

Tower of Doors is also my favorite part of the season, for one it’s not too hard to follow, compared to some other gambles I couldn’t quite follow the tricks. And of course the conclusion of it is very yuri and satisfying.

Like Saki it isn’t required to get the tricks to enjoy the show. It’s more about the crazy reactions.

Season one was better at gambling part. But season 2, the gay part was a lot better. I got all teary in episode 10. My complaint is I didn’t see a lot of Mary. The facial expression is still amazing. I really loved it. So overall both season are the same. I enjoyed it a lot. And it needs season 3.

Yeah. Needed more Mary and her masked admirer. Still ship Mary with Yumeko but if Mask Girl wins I won’t complain.
Definitely need a 3rd season.
