It was brought to my attention that the Pre-Air of the first episode had been subbed. Naturally I couldn’t wait to check it out, so I did. The version I found wasn’t the best quality so readers can either wait till late January (20th) for the television premiere or try your luck online. For safety reasons I won’t share where I found a slightly better quality RAW or where I saw the episode subbed.
What we got right away was Grea (the dragon princess) not being very social with anyone other than Anne (the human princess) who was highly respected by everyone.
I won’t go over all the reactions between the two because my goodness were they all glorious! From Grea hearing Anne coming to Anne’s reaction when Grea called her “Anne” instead of “Princess Anne”. Also it took Grea several seconds of volcanic temperature blushing before dropping the “Princess”.
The two talked about books they read:
Grea: I enjoyed the Book of Manaria you recommended to me, especially the parts about you.
Anne: Oh my. I’m glad! There are so many cool books in the school library. I wanna read them all. Speaking of, I read one about royalty. What’s your country like?
Grea: There are a lot of large animals.
Anne: Sounds cool. Why did you apply to study in this school then?
Grea: Umm…because my mother studied here. I’m…half royalty and half bastard.
Anne: Oh nice. So your mom studied here too.
Grea was surprised Anne didn’t say anything about her being half royalty. My best guess is her mom either married or had a child with a “commoner”.
Suddenly a clumsy cutie named Captain Lou Albano rushed over to ask Anne for help at the library. She asked Grea to wait for her.
Turns out Captain Lou accidentally released a wild phoenix (I think) spirit. Even the Seitokaichou Hanna had a hard time with it.
Hanna asked Anne for help too. She used her (unsurprisingly) advanced magical power to seal the phoenix. To make sure it didn’t escape again she summoned an ice spirit to freeze the library. Later in Hanna’s office Anne apologized for the whole freezing thing but Hanna was more ashamed of herself for not being able to stop the phoenix. Anne wanted to cheer her up but she was like “It’s okay. I’ll manage”.
And yes, I currently ship Hanna with her secretary.
Anne walked back to where she left Grea and was surprised to see her still there.
Anne: So ummm, things got a bit rough at the library and I kinda overdid it and..ummm…
Grea: You did your best.
Anne: (HNNNNNNNNNG!). Wait. You’ve been waiting for me all this time?
Grea: Ummm, yeah. You kept me waiting for a while…you know.
Grea: So Anne. Wanna grab some grub?
Anne: Oh right. I haven’t eaten anything all day…Let’s go!
So this will pretty much be a chill show set in a magic academy with (hopefully) a blossoming lesbian romance at the forefront. My body is ready for more.
