So many VNs to promote. Keep ’em coming ladies and gentlemen.
First of all we have a Kickstarter project in School Harem, which is marketed as a Yuri harem.
Lead cutie Anna.
Plot Summary:
Anna is the newest person to find herself at the All Girls school Har Hem Heights. Arriving at the doors she looks up wondering just what mistakes in her life lead her here unable to think of anything but a parade of rejections, she looks up at the doors and hopes that things could be different.
Of course nothing is ever what it seems and before Anna knows it she is in a compromising situation with an upper-class woman, a woman who is happy to take advantage of the situation to blackmail Anna into agreeing to be her personal slave.
Surely only heaven can help Anna now, or failing that, HELL. And so we see Akame join Anna in an unholy alliance, so that Anna can not only retake her power but to conquer this school and make her life what she wants it to be and to make rejection a thing of the past.
Will Anna be able to conquer each and every one of these lovely ladies’ hearts? I assume it’s possible.

Just wanted to back it when it seems that Dharker has given a lot of IP away to another developer called Nicky Swan.
It appears that that guy intends to bring it back, but there will be a new campaign then? See here, there’s some info on the front page: https://www.nickyswan.com/
The second VN we’ll be looking at is My Senpai.
Plot Summary: My Senpai, is a visual novel telling a yuri love story between two young women attending college together. The protagonist plays as Mira, a young, slightly naive woman who has moved to this town to live with friends of her parents whilst she attends college. All however is not as it seems as she quickly learns she will be sharing the house with another young woman.
The young woman however has a little bit of a mischievous nature and refuses to tell You/Mira her name, instead insisting you simply call her ‘Senpai’ (meaning teacher, master, or someone of a higher rank).
And so the love story between Mira and her Senpai begins…
Though this link leads to its Kickstarter Page the project was already funded and is scheduled for an early 2019 release on Steam and Nutaku. There’s also the My Senpai Dharker Studios homepage.
Speaking of Dharker Studios, there’s one little detail readers ought to be made aware of. For some reason the studio has a habit of including het DLC content after the game is released. They’re usually about the ladies’ past escapades with guys before realizing they’re more into women. Or something like that. Bisexual women don’t bother me at all but there are purists out there triggered by this stuff…In any case I find it HIGHLY UNLIKELY they’ll include such content in these two titles, School Harem and My Senpai.
Third VN is a story about two cute and sexy cyborgs called Snowed IN by Rascal Devworks.
Plot Summary:
Military officer Sigma gets tasked with supervising the final exam of a promising cadet. Seems easy enough.
The problem? The two of them are polar opposites.
One is a cyborg, the other is all natural. One is jaded, the other is still amazed at life.But don’t opposites attract each other?
Currently the game has no release date but methinks sometime in 2019 on itch.io and possibly other sites. Follow the above Rascal Devworks Twitter page or itch.io page to keep up with the progress of the game.
Last but not least we have a title courtesy of one of our newest frequents. I’m sure visitors of the site are familiar with this lovely lady. It’s Little Viktoria (link to Twitter). So she has her own KN (Kinetic Novel) project in the works titled A Beautiful Ride to Carlisle.
Plot Summary: A lovely story of two girls meeting on the train. Dana’s summer vacation has just started and she’s on her way to volunteer on an organic farm. But she’s not expecting something wonderful to happen on the train…
The visual novel will be available in December 2018 on PC / Mac / Linux through Itch.io, and possibly later through Steam as well.

It’s a start in yuri VN releases… we still need lots more.
I don’t really care if the girls have or had an interest in men, but the only chance I’d have of playing DLC like that is if it was both free and available when I was playing the game. It would be better to flesh out the backstory in the main game than tack it on later.

Anyone here remember Toweringman? Little Viktoria’s style is shockingly similar to his, only better.

As for dharker studios’ dlc habits, specifically the Negligee dlc, the problem wasn’t just that it contained almost no yuri, apparently it was also a rapefest. Just bizarre content after a yuri game for a god-knows-what audience.

So many of these Kickstarter campaigns for visual novels have such poor grammar. How am I supposed to believe it will be good if they can’t even get this right?

True. I’d like to play a yuri visual novel, but they tend to be so awkward to read. That’s why I’ll make my own ^^
I think it’s much easier to be an okay artist than an okay writer. And it takes a lot of work to be a great writer. I just had a discussion with a friend and we agreed that there are lots of artists that I’d gladly collaborate with, but I don’t know even one writer that I’d trust to work on my projects.

If grammar mispronunciation or errors were what stopped me from picking up VNs and KNs I wouldn’t be promoting or reviewing any of them today. Every single one I’ve played has had one or two.

Eh, I think it’s forgivable if there is some awkward grammar here and there.

I can forgive the occasional slip up. No one is perfect. But when the first thing I see promoting the game contains awkward phrasing and poor grammar, it leaves a very bad first impression. I cannot back such a thing in good conscience.

As I told Little Viktoria if grammar were my main issue I wouldn’t be covering VNs and KNs at all. But that’s just me. If they upset you then so be it.

Just to clarify about the Dharker thing, I specifically asked them about previous DLC practices and they assured me that the games (both My Senpai and School Harem) will have no such content. It’s yuri through and through. I don’t know about DLC nor do I particularly care as long as it’s not the Galaxy Girls fiasco again 😀
Another interesting tidbit is that “School Harem” was actually “School Coven” originally, a het VN which failed, at which point Dharker probably realized their followers are more interested in yuri and are now rewriting it as such lol.

The Negligee dlc is the fiasco I think. The Galaxy Girls dlc was mostly yuri at least.

I know people really didn’t like the weird shift away from yuri (I didn’t touch the Negligee DLC) I just dislike the overreaction to it. Dharker made a slip-up, there was a big backlash, and now they are continuing to make yuri VNs, so it’s a “fool me once” situation for me atm 😀

Doubt that will mean much to people who are set on disliking anything by Dharker Studios but it’s good they assured you it won’t happen in those two games.

A story about a yuri harem certainly does sound appealing but writing that many routes needs a lot of effort so I was kind of skeptical. Then I saw that it was by Dharker Studios and I completely lost hope. They lost my trust a long time ago. Their past is littered with unreleased games and the one that they released were mostly garbage. (In one of the image of the School Harem kickstarted it says My Senpai, they couldn’t even be bothered to change that lol)
Snowed IN looks pretty interesting
A Beautiful Ride to Carlisle looks really really good. I love the art style. Since it doesn’t mention the price will it be free? I’m willing to pay for something that looks that good.

Im just now getting to know Little Viktoria’s work, and man…I fell in love with it. Will be looking forward to all of these VNs but Beautiful Ride will probably have the priority on the buying list.

The only good thing about the negligee fiasco was the outcome. It flopped pretty hard and kinda made sure they wouldn’t try something like that again, then again its dharker and if those two titles get popular expect some kind of cash in.
