A Centaur’s Life Episode 11: Little Big Takeover

The Little Ones took over the show this episode. Hope everyone had first aid kits nearby before/after watching this one.

The Chisters and Sue playing with a dog.jpg

Oh yeah. This episode is hazardous to fans of cuteness.

We joined the Chisters and Sue getting ready to go out and play when they let slip that there’s this habit of everyone wanting to “take Sue home”.

Dog taking Sue home

Dog taking Sue home.

Basically Sue’s SO DAMN CUTE that everyone wanted to take her home, including other girls and even a dog. President Angel was naturally concerned for Sue’s safety but let her accompany the Chisters anyway.

Shino and friends talking about flowers.jpg

Shino, Maki and Mi-chan (I guess Mikoto or Mika).

We then spent the rest of the first part enjoying the blissful sight of Shino, Maki and Mi-chan talking about the different kinds of flowers, weeds and shapes. I bet people who enjoy learning about all kinds of plants had fun watching the three discuss the complexities and differences among them. Simply put it’s a metaphor for every single person being different in appearance, beliefs, mannerisms etc. Not every centaur is identical despite being part of the same race for example.

The next day the adults had the weeds pulled out for safety reasons. Maki was very upset but Shino understood that it had to be done. Besides the valuable lecture from the adorable tykes we saw that Shino wanted to be as cool and responsible as her beloved Hime onee-chan when she grows up.

Sue learning how to put on pants.jpg

The Chisters teaching Sue how to put on pants.

The next part was all Chisters and Sue. So Sue was trying to put on her pants but had trouble getting her tail out. The (I think) oldest Chister showed her how it was done using her own tail. It didn’t go well due to Sue’s tail still being tiny. This made her sad.

Younger Chisters.jpg

Picture of the Chisters as babies.

Luckily for her President Angel showed her a picture of the Chisters when they were younger, cheering her up that one day her tail will grow and her ears will stand up. We then got an extended conversation about how people with tails put on pants and kimonos along with why the girls never got diapers/baby pants despite them being easier to put on.

President Baby.

If President Baby was the main protagonist I would watch The Boss Baby.

Sue praising Tama.jpg

Sue praising P.A.

Later Sue and one of the Chisters were watching a “prettiest person” contest coverage (that conveniently began as a symbol of peace). Sue said without doubt that P.A. was the prettiest person in the world. The Chisters didn’t want this fact to inflate P.A.’s ego so the next day they actually went on a quest to try and find someone prettier than her. I am not kidding.

They searched “far and wide” and while they found some pretty ladies none were deemed prettier than P.A. I imagine some viewers would agree with their assessment.

Shino defending Hime's honor.jpg

One person however, vouched that Hime was the fairest one of all.

The girls reporting to Tama.jpg

The girls reporting their failure to P.A.

P.A. responded to their “failure” by saying that when they grow up maybe all four of them be even prettier than her.

This episode nearly hospitalized me.

Seriously, this episode was a cuteness overload. It’s episodes like these that make me eager to have children of my own one day. As much work as they can be, the pay off is adorable moments like the ones we saw in this ep. The next ep seems like it’ll be a fun one.

Hime of course nominated Nozomi as the prettiest. The Chi-chans adorably (and rudely) disagreed.

The Chi-chans remain my favorite part of this show. It needs a Chi-chan focused spinoff.

Cuteness overload! I too want to take Sue-chan home. But then Chi-chans will get mad at me, so I won’t. That tail scenes were both funny and interesting. PA baby was adorable. And I agree with Sue-chan, PA is prettiest. Hime comes second. Just like Chi-chan said, Hime more cute than pretty. And looks like Shino will get three adorable girlfriends in the near future.

  4. Cuteness! Cuteness everywhere! And tails! And ears! And plants! This is good.

Cool actually seeing a six-legged dog finally in detail.

In the midst of the Chisters’ quest for pretty ladies, I think we actually got another small, small hint of Hime x Nozomi though (or at least potential for such), when Hime asked one of the Chisters her opinion on whether Nozomi is “pretty”, regardless of the Chisters’ answer to said question…how else would Hime think to ask that question unless she already thinks so herself?

      So good!

Yet another interesting tidbit about this world, six-legged dogs.

Yes. Some other peeps have pointed that out. It’s definitely more fuel for the NozoHime ship.

Great episode, I actually missed the subtle NozoHime moment tucked in there, we also have some new characters on our hands and some insight into the mechanics of tails.

All in all, I’m happy with it, there’s not much else to say.

I hope we get a home video release of this show. Then, during the coming apocalypse, I can pull it out and confiirm that goodness did once exist in this world.

Anything with President Angel, the Chisters, and Sue is balm for my soul! And, the Chisters are going to have to fight Hime for Shino in the future. (Unless they figure out some kind of time-sharing agreement. :p

And Nozomi’s plenty pretty. Especially, if she wear’s a suit. A three-piece suit, with a hat and pocket chain. And wingtips. With the jacket slug casually over her shoulder, and… (wipes up drool)

VHS tapes could come in handy should there no longer be Blu-Rays or DVD players.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of compromise the girls can work out together.

      Nozomi’s lovely.

Yes, this episode literally gave me a nosebleed. There is way too much cuteness in this episode. Even Tama looked adorable when she was a child. But yes, it seems that Shino has a lot of potential to grow up into a beautiful woman.
